I think you should make it a rule that if you're filming in the kitchen, you have to flash up to the chandelier at least once. It's too beautiful not to.

I run a housecleaning company and I can tell you concrete countertops are a nightmare, especially in kitchens. Love the shiny new one, so easy to clean. From a design perspective, the contrast with old stone, brick and ceiling beams is fabulous. Add in the chandeliere and it's WOW!

Dan and Annalise You have 2 lovely children, adorable little boys! I just want to say that Jack is an amazing child. The comprehension he shows for his age and with the helping hand he is so very eager to give is just incredible! The episode where he had to go find his shovel to help his Dad and he was running up the driveway with the shovel in his hand says it all. You have a darling of a son in Jack for sure! (Thomas is too)

Kitchen is looking great, good choice with the island top to match the counter tops, clean and bright. Really like the stainless fronts and the simple look of the pull handles... plus glass ceiling above the fridge. That double sink waste/pipe set-up looked like something out of Star Wars! 😊🦘

We had concrete on all our home floors people said to just seal them as hadn’t cracked. To save money. But we just put down tiles that looked like a wooden floor. Because of underfloor heating would have possibly caused cracks at a later time.

Good job guys, love your kitchen and cooking shows. My husband and I, back when we were in our 30's had a 40x40 pole shed built on 20 acres. Half was the garage and half was the house. We built the inside, was like an open concept (we were way ahead of times) Now open concept is very popular. The only enclosed room was the bathroom. Our countertops were slab wood, was awesome, cabinets from Menards, wood cook stove, and fire place, had an LP furnace but very seldom used it. Was always toasty and warm with wood. Had a big garden with chickens, ducks, cows, rabbits, cats and dogs. Was a good life and I miss it. So I really enjoy watching you both renovate you home. I worked part time at a beauty shop and husband worked for the county, plowing and grating roads plus we were building our home and raising animals, good life.

Hi from Australia guys- you are doing a great job and earning lots along the way. I love that you are doing things as you can afford it too- so many young couples put themselves into horrendous debt to have all the bling and so on right away, which I'm sure might be nice in a way... but This way I think you appreciate your achievements and progress, in spite of it maybe taking longer than you'd like. My hubby and I did this after we got married and it took about almost 5 years before we had most things done.... that was back in the early 1970's - but we were so proud of our achievements once we'd done most of what we wanted to do. Its so nice watching you achieve something each blog. It reminds me of what we achieved in on our homes over time. Well done to both of you. Many blessings form Down Under! xxxx

I didn't know it was so spacious. I know how overwhelming renos can be, but it's wonderful as areas are completed little by little. I'm looking forward to seeing what you two create :)

    Great vlog as always!!
Shame about the concrete worktop but I like the one you have on there now from a matching point of view. Looks like you will need to edge the ends though if you end up keeping it.
You have a great home and I like the sound of your vision to improve / extend the downstairs.
Keep up the good work and don't make your vlogs too slick this year as I think there is something special about the way they come across.
