This record is pretty hard to top. It's a mix of really heavy psychedelic rock and slower sombre acoustic songs that reminds me at times of Tractor and at others of Czar, Open Mind, Budgie (especially Budgie) and the like. The brilliant production job with all the effects and the strong songwriting are what make this a really amazing record. I love Czar even more, but it's about 3 times as unaffordable as the already unaffordable usually Incredible Hog,

Well done Mojo mag for having Lame on one of their many excellent comp CDs and alerting me to this most excellent band

    Lame:--
    Well now bless my soul
Looks like I don't need to go
Many things they seem so strange
So many changes are drivin' me lame
    Drivin' me lame
    Drivin' me lame
    Drivin' me lame
I crossed the road to reach a telephone
So many people but I'm all alone
Sometimes you know that I feel so sad
So many changes and they're drivin' me mad
    Drivin' me mad
    Drivin' me mad
    Drivin' me mad
    Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
    Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
    Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Maybe someday we're gonna build a road
Where people don't die, yes before they grow old
Until then, I'm gonna hide in my room
I'll seal the doors, yes and wait for my doom
    Drivin' me lame
    Drivin' me lame
    Drivin' me lame
    Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
    Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
    Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
    Tadpole:--
I'm stuck in a hollow, a hollow of darkness
You gotta release me, I can't even breathe
'Cos now that I've found you, I don't wanna lose you
I'm sure gonna miss you in every way, oh yeah
Your poisonous cobwebs restricting my life-force
My eyeballs are bulging, my life's running out
I'm blinded by tempest, the wind and the thunder
You're evil, your power is screwing me down
    Bah do dadum bay dah
    Bah do dadum bay dah
    Bah do dadum bay dah
    I'm a fallin' down, I'm a fallin' down
    I'm a fallin' down, I'm a fallin' down
    I'm a slidin' down, I'm a slidin' down
    I'm a slidin' down
I've slipped down the walls of a slippery cavern
I'm trapped by some power I can't comprehend
If you think you can keep me in incarceration
I'll live for your downfall and fight 'til your end, oh yeah. 🎸👍

Well these fellows certainly hooked my attention! Amazing rock and roll ! In my opinion the exact sound and feel that IS rock and roll music in it's most pure unadulterated form ( I speak that lightly of course...rock and roll has always seemed difficult to explain let alone put forth a coherent definition of what it is ) That aside , Incredible Hog is a fantastic band worthy to rank as king wizards amoung those others before and to come.....

Clearly Angus Young got some inspirations from this guitar work here. Sound & style of a few songs here show at least a couple of similarities (NOT in the song writing, voice etc and not in each song, but still...).
At least one could came to the conclusion...not knowing if it is true, haven't talked to Angus for a while ;-)
This is a great album. Must have for hard rock fans and their collection!

      ralli rock,
trust me when i say angus young never heard about incredible hog,not in 'real time' anyway, this album was
never released in australia,i am 41 years old and live in london,i started collecting records since i was 10
and for the last 30 years i only saw 2 original english copies,2-3 original german copies and 1 original
french copy of this album,i asked a few older record collectors about the availability of incredible hog
album 'in real time' and they told me it slipped completely under their radar, one of them is 65 years old
and likes heavy rock told me he bought this album in the mid 80's more than 10 years after it was
      released.

      @jackjc1447 5 років тому +2

      martin innis,
no there isn't,vol.1 is their only release,in 2011 rise above reissued this album with 4 additional
tracks,2 originals,'burnout' and 'finger fish' and 2 covers,'goin down' and 'stumble',claiming to be
new songs for a supposed second album, but according to ken gordon their guitar player, those
songs were recorded during a few hours of jam session without a concrete plan to record a new
      album.

In that case what you said, the best music put to vinyl from 1955 to 1978, I'm agree with you. By the way, do you think you are some music expert when you have own 14.000 LPs, well, I can tell you, you are not really, that's the fact.
