The song is not about a relationship. The song describes the state of Israel after the events of October 7th. The sentence that says in the comments "we will dance again" is aimed at the murdered people at the Nova festival. @@brynawaldman5790 let me add something. it's an olive tree. it's a protected tree here in Israel and it's not allowed to be cut and taken out. the fact that this tree is so violently cut out from the ground cause it's such a rooted and meaningful tree for us is very upsetting to witness. the cut tree with all it's symbolism is what we experienced on October 7th. also the olive tree symbolize peace. the fact that peace in hanging on a string shows the danger and fragile place Israel and the jews are at and the hope for peace is slowly dying.

I picked out a lot of references to Jewish mysticism in the song. In the promotion video before the contest started I saw the landscape was like the land around the Nova Music Festival. In the onstage performance I see the terror tunnels under Gaza in the circular structure they used onstage.

I'm guessing you don't know, but there are over 1.2 million Israelis who hold Portuguese citizenship, it's a privilege we received from our ancestors who were deported and massacred in Spain and Portugal in 1492. This song was written in memory of the Israelis who were murdered and massacred on October 7, 2023 by Palestinians who were members of the H@m@s organization during their invasion to the State of Israel And to the Nova peace festival.

Israel also won Eurovision 4 times .12 times Israel managed to get into the first five places in the final of the competition, and 21 times it got into one of the first ten places. Israel came second twice. The competition is of the European Broadcasting Union and because Israel is a member of the union it participates in the competition.
Russia and Belarus were also members but they were quickly removed from the competition and shamed globally(Belarus didn't even participate in the invasion) even though Ukraine was nothing in comparison to what is being done one in Gaza so yeah - book example of double standards

Thank you for your honest and heartfelt reaction for our entry for this year's entry to Eurovision, which will be held in May in Sweden.
The last bit was in Hebrew.
This song is ofcourse about the October 7th massacre that the ter*or organization "hamas" launched on israel, rap*ng, behea*ing, burn*ng alive, mutil*ting and murd*ring over 1,300 babies, children, women men and elderly - IN ONE DAY, and this song focused especially on the (over) 250 young ppl who were partying and raving at the NOVA peace and love DANCE FESTIVAL whom were also massacred by Hamas - then they (Hamas) went and kidnapped over 240 innocent ppl from their homes - over 130 of them ARE STILL BEING KEPT CAPTIVE (for over 6 months now!!!) in hamas ter*or tunnels in gaza, amongst them is a 1 y/o baby who "celebrated" his 1st b-day in captivity (and also his 4.5 y/o brother and their Mom) - over 30 of them were recently announced dead by hamas (even though they were very much alive when they were kidnapped!), and some of them were SOLD BY HAMAS to even more extreme rer*or groups, and their whereabouts is unknown.
This song is with REVISED LYRICS, after the original song - which was titled "October rain", was considered by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union - the orgenizers of the Eurovision) for being too political, and they banned the song, thus forcing Israel to change the lyrics, if they (meaning we, I'm from Israel) want to participate in the upcoming Eurovision song contest, in May, in Sweden.
Even though the lyrics were "softened", one can still tell what the song is about.

Israel's language is Hebrew, of course. Israel has been a member of the Eurovision since the 70"s, I think, and won 4 times so far. Thank you for keeping an open mind about the song, leaving politics out. These are very difficult times, and I applaud Eden for taking the task of representing our country. The song came to present what happened on the seventh of October. The dancers in the video introduce the people who came to spread light and love. It shows the murdered people who danced at the Nova festival in Israel. For us the date was really a hurricane She says there in one of the sentences, promise me you'll hold me again. Here she mentions the abductees from their point of view and their thoughts. The upside down tree shows the feeling of the people in Israel. We feel that our roots have been uprooted and our world has been completely turned upside down since October 7th.In addition to this, the upside-down tree shows the hundreds of families who somehow managed to escape from the terrible range and were displaced from their homes when Hamas entered the settlements where they lived and destroyed everything.

Israel has been participating in Eurovision for some 50 years, since 1973 (and even won several times...) for the simple reason that: Israel is in the EBU and the European Broadcasting Area.

The language at the end is Hebrew and Israel is , like Cyprus, a member of the European Broadcasting Union which is the criterion for participation aside from the one exception, Australia which is allowed to participate also because they love the contest so much and asked nicely. The song can be interpreted, as all music can, by the listener and if it strikes a chord with you you fill it with your own meanings. Obviously, from the point of view of the writers it was meant to reflect the storm of emotions released by the mass slaughter of of over 1000 Israeli citizens on the morning of Oct 7th and the continued hostage situation but it is vague enough to be open to many other interpretations too. Glad you enjoyed it .

Согласна почти со всем. Но крик в кульминации песни, на мой взгляд, крик невыносимой боли. Девушек, которых насиловали, попутно калечя таким садистким образом, на которую способен только самый изощренный маньяк убийца. И крик боли родителей зверски убитых и похищенных, продолжающих страдать прямо сейчас.

Я подчеркнула в своем комменте, что мой взгляд на финал - другой, это мое личное восприятие и оно мне дорого. Я видела членов семей похищенных, скандирующих "верните их сейчас!!" рядом с собой и их боль у меня ассоциируется с последним эпизодом. Но это и не важно. Чем больше ассоциаций и интерпретаций вызывает оригинал, тем более высокий художественный уровень он имеет. Этот клип - песня - шедевр.
