Can so much devastation take place in such a short timeframe? This is really heartbreaking indeed for these unfortunate residents. My deepest sympathy goes out to these folks. I have lived through a few storms in my lifetime and anybody who has ever experienced a tropical cyclone knows that it can last anywhere between several hours and an entire day; but I have never seen so much devastation after a hurricane. Great report, thnx. Yesterday I had an awful thought... people could have been picked up alive by the force of the wind & carried many hundreds of miles, dropped in a field or woods even in the next state or two over. Living in an area that is a tornado alley, EVERY home by law should have a small basement room for shelter, at least 6' by 6', enough to huddle in, & every city, a blasting alarm system. It's negligent not to. God speed.
It's really frustrating and sad when governments in places like Mississippi and other southern states don't give a damn about the safety and well-being of their people. The rich business class who fund these corrupt politicians just want to keep making money without any regulations getting in the way. It's heartbreaking to see. But let's be real, corruption in government is a big mess and there are a lot of reasons why it happens. It's not just about the wealthy, but also about things like shady deals, lack of transparency, and weak institutions. We need everyone to get involved and fight for what's right if we want a fair and just society. That means holding our elected officials accountable, pushing for policies that benefit everyone, and demanding that our government be transparent and honest.
