Got a 2+ in my mocks. Hopefully I get a 4 for my GCSEs.
I'm currently working at a 2 or 3, been out of school for a long time and GCSEs are coming up way too soon. I think my main problem is lack of confidence but my mocks are soon so hopefully I will get a 4!

You got this! Just read questions thoroughly, and at the end of the paper go back and retry the questions even if you are confident they are correct just to be sure!

A few common level 5 topics include:
Simultaneous equations
Creating and solving your own equations
Factorising and solving quadratics
Reverse Percentage increase/decrease
Compound measures
Bounds
Maybe try and perfect these, as-well as any other topics you can think of. Lots of free resources online! Hope this helps

I'm currently working at a 3+/4- at maths foundation for maths and science. But due to my mental health struggles, I'm still at that level although I'm close to passing. My GCSE's are so soon like a month or 2 away. I'm hoping I get a 4 or a 5.

I'm currently at a grade two in maths but I'm aiming to pass . I've tried going to after school clubs and I've tried past papers but sometimes the mark scheme isn't specific for foundation ocr but the cuestions in the back and the wordy ones mostly get me but I'm ready to do anything to pass, idk if past paper walkthroughs are effective for last minute revision tho, if you have any advice please help me 🙏💜
Go right back to basics, understand the fractions, percentages, square numbers, factors and multiples. If youre looking to binge watch stuff on youtube, on my channel, go back to my first video and watch all of those. Only 3-5 minute videos and it covers every topic you should need. Hope this helps!! im currently working at a grade 3 and im so freaking upset about it, whenever i do past papers i really dont understand how that helps cause when i get the answers wrong i go like oh well and just move on, please help im in year 11 and i really struggle with maths
I think the best advice i can give you, when you notice you are getting the questions wrong on past papers, try to find out what topic they are from your teacher or other people in your class, and specifically look up and practice questions based on these. If you have any other questions please let me know!

I think the hardest part is identifying the topic it is you’re getting wrong, if you can do that, go find some videos or worksheets to work on. Its great to be thinking about these things earlier so props to you!
Definitely go back and learn the basics if you aren’t confident with them, these are the stepping stones you need to get onto the harder stuff

@@sana...33744 hi! they add together all 3 marks and then find out the total example: paper 1 84 marks, paper 2 28 marks, paper 3 69 that dds up to 181 and on the grade boundaries they find out the overall grade for example that would be a grade 6(I dont know what subject it was as every subject is different I just found it on the OC

Yes! 0.02 would just find 2%, where 1.02 would add 2% which is what we wanted.

Pythagorus is purely when yiu have 2 sides of a right angle triangle, sohcahtoa (trigonometry) is when you have 1 side and an angle instead. Hope this helps!

Not a silly question at all! Some exam boards give marks back, but some don’t. Im not sure about individual papers but generally you may get overall marks (/240). If you google ‘AQA grade boundaries’ it will give you tables of all the boundaries needed to get each grade!

For question 19 I don’t know where to place the angle and I often place it in the incorrect location how would I know where to place it when it states multiple points on the shape .
Hi, my best advice for these types of angle questions:
As it states angle ACB, with your pen or something, follow the points from A to C, and C to B, the angle they want is the angle those two lines meet at. If you google something like ‘identifying angles’ im sure something useful should come up. Hope this helps!

More than happy to help. If I am honest, I have made a video on this, look for the ‘how to get a level 9’ video on my page, i have lots of tips to boost the grade including ways on how to revise. I am struggling at a 4 and trying to get out of foundation in y10
Figure out which topics u struggling the most, go to after school intervation if ur schl does it then do topic questions after u understand a specific topic then do past papers don't expect to get all marks because u've prop haven't do most of the topic I if u keep getting 5 then at the end of ur yr10 mocks if u do have one ask ur schl to let u do the higher paper but make sure u know the higher topic that are done in that year. If u get like a grade 5+ mostly 6 then u can do higher in year 11
Hope u get the grade u need maths is all about practise, so try to do math at least 30 mons each day it very useful
i think you made a mistake in question 3 because the value of 1 apple would be 50p due to dividing 2.50 by 5 and to find the value of 8 apples would be 50x8=400 which is 4pound not 3.52.
The question says £2.20 for 5 apples, so each is 44p

If you put in the time and practice lots of question it is definitely achievable! I have lots of videos about how to improve, i would recommend watching them! Hope it can help

A mix of both, maths doesn’t have any specific topics that come up per paper
@@brainstormmath yes it does paper 1 was non calculator and none of the calculator questions came up obvs
Questions that require a calculator can also come up on a non calc paper, they usually just make the numbers nicer to work with, for example trigonometry comes up because they require you to know the exact trig values for certain angles

The calculator should have a button for this, if you press ‘shift’ and the fraction button, it normally lets you input a mixed number

It’s always the Shape questions that get to me, or the Cylinder questions, and the “Volume of a tank” questions. They suck🥲
Yes they arent nice! If you google ‘volume gcse maths questions’ there is lots of practice if you want to get better at it! Could be a good idea

I believe it is easier to get a 4 in higher yes, it often only needs a low score to get a 4 whereas in foundation you need to get a very high score still to pass
