    The issue is most young people don't want to get involved in this type of work
    The uncle is 75. Does anyone expect him to keep doing it forever?
    These type of small businesses are dying out
    Either they close down right away, or they try to prolong it by hiring foreign workers, which ends up changing the taste and quality of the food anyway
    It won't be long before most of the good and famous hawker stalls become just a memory. Sad but true

      Their unic cooking style is results of life long experience, and can't be easily reproduce by other people. It not standard practice like fast food restaurant. Many hawkers really master their recipe but that's it they can't continue forever.

    You can make your own Teochew porridge at home during MCO. It should be easier than Cantonese porridge as it is the rushed job version of Cantonese porridge.

      Or
      Any ties 👔 that has Penang art/Penang influenced art/motives.

    Children lose the opportunity to learn the work skills of their parents because of the strict law.
    It is illegal for children to help their parents:
    -Between 8.00PM and 7.00AM everyday.
    -For more than 3 hours consecutively without a break of at least 30 minutes.
    -For more than 6 hours a day.
    -For more than 7 hours if they attend school, 7 hours being the cumulative time spent both in school and at work.
    -If they have not had at least 14 consecutive work-free hours of rest since the last work period.

    • @MrPavittran
      @MrPavittran 3 роки тому

      I really don't see any problem with any of the points outlined here.
      All points are valid as adequate child care. They are there so that it is in fact "help" that they are doing and not work (job/occupation).
      It is in fact a bad thing to overwork children and to strip them of free space and time to explore their own interest.

    • @aunco
      @aunco 3 роки тому

      Then we should not lament the loss of good food and artisanship, or complain that our kid does not know how to change a light bulb.
      If we want to be dogmatic, then we should not even buy clothes arbitrarily because a lot of clothes come directly or indirectly from the hands of Bangladeshi children.

    • @MrPavittran
      @MrPavittran 3 роки тому

      Alright, let's get into it.
      1st sentence point. All points kind of going off course here and also not so relevant. You can still learn the trade without working full time/part time.
      (Personal Experience: If people are interested in something, they will be moved to do something about it.
      Now for that other point you put out, I'm 22, been living on my own for 3.5 years now, I know how to put on a light bulb, in fact I know how to do most of the general house work/repairs, I only leave works that require experience and skills like the wiring, walled plumbing and "anything that if you attempt to do repair would automatically make the warranty void" to the pros as you should. Now where did I learn to do them, well I had learnt them from online videos/manuals/Wikihows/friends/school/work/during events/and yes sometimes family. But the instructions to how a bulb is installed isn't an ancient verbal teaching taught through the generations, it's available all around you.)
      Now for the 2nd sentence point, if you know a manufacturer that employs children then yes you should not buy those products. It is infact seen as an ethical and moral thing to do, glad you understood. Consumers demand drives the production, if consumers demand to only accept products not manufactured by children then you will in fact, get them.

    • @MrPavittran
      @MrPavittran 3 роки тому

      I also would like to point out those points in your 1st original comments are also great if implied towards adults as well. (except for the time frame of the 8pm to 7am, they should be able to decide to work during the day or night)
      I say that because all points seems to give a good amount of time to rest between work, thus have better efficiency and better working experience . Work time is limited to give you more time to enjoy the rest of life. It really would improve quality of life. It reduces strain on the physical/ emotional/ mental that work could bring sometimes.

    • @aunco
      @aunco 3 роки тому

      @@MrPavittran Many of us struggle to make ends meet. Plus we can't check if something is made with child labour, unless it is 100% made by ourselves.
      As for adults, to get things done is to get them done. Our boss will not care if we work late at night. Some security guards, policemen, firemen and nurses work late at night.
      Perhaps you are privileged enough to live a comfortable life and to check every type of fabric on your clothes.
