I love how when you eat Lok Lok you get share the table with other diners. It's a great way to meet people and discover new things. Do you like to try the local food when your travel? What would be your favourite skewer of food if you were to eat Lok Lok here?
The star of Lok Lok is not the actual skewers or items but actually is the sauces.
@@philipboy9898 And the wonderful people you meet.. 👍
Thanks , Steve for highlighting the story of the small vendors. Really appreciate it.
You're welcome May
I had lok lok in the 1960s. Like satay you dip the stick into a pot of boiling water, when cook, you dip into peanut source (satay source)
Fantastic video as always, look forward to the next
Glad you enjoyed it..
Nice vid Steve, I've been watching a lot of food vloggers including yours but this one is truly special. Love the lok lok chit chatting session the most, i almost felt like I'm watching a talkshow... thanks for visiting Penang and hope you find Penang a place for loads and loads of awesome food as I do... :)
Thanks a lot Kevin.. 👍
Darling travelling duo @Steve and Michele!! Ooh, we all salivating over warm smile and 1 butterscotch Timtam 😂😭😭 I'd try everything.. 8 sauces but the seasoned blood. Blessings to the amazing hosts, chefs and owners!! Kendrick Simon and brother. Great work, much love to you all!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤
Ohh butterscotch Tim Tam sounds wonderful Mona.. I would love one of those.... Right now mmmmm..
Wow, loved Kendrick’s mum counting how much is the total bill 😀
She is a legend.
Wow. That looks delicious! I missed yong taufoo so much. Ate it when l was a little girl.
Can you not get it now?
@@Steve-Owens Not in Japan where l am living but whenever l go back home to Singapore or Malaysia , l will definitely look for it n enjoy all the local food that l missed.

Amazing calculating in Hokkien 👍🏻
A nice variety of food. I'd like to try the cuttlefish and the dim sum. Cheers, Steve and Michelle! ✌️
Thanks buddy.. the dim sum looked great, I didn't get chance to try it.. 😔👍👍
I love yong tow foo. Enjoyed hearing the owners ‘ stories about how it all started . I’m not very adventurous with it seafood wise though. My fav pieces are bean curd skin, fish balls and stuffed bitter gourd . I can’t find a decent young tow foo in Brissie 😢.
I never saw one up there either Sharon.. ;o)
Nice
Thanks
Lok lok translate to blanch blanch. Thanks for the interesting vid.
Thank you too!
I realized when I heard first time u from England and which part? I am from Penang. When u go somewhere u get to know people, foods and mamany things u will
Get great times. Welcome to Penang
Melbourne.. 👍
Good day
RIP aunte Ah Kee🙏
Indeed, I miss seeing her, she is a Legend.. 🙏
Hii I was there and I even talked to you about the lok lok im baffled
Baffled? 🙂
The Yong Tow Foo dishes originated from the Hakka Clan! The original paste is made from fish paste mixed with pork meat with a little bit of salted fish, but now day those food vendors only used fish paste only.
Thanks for sharing..
@@Steve-Owens Most welcome Steve O!

Don't pay UK 01/10/22. whether you trust it or not, you don't have to sign up, we can all cancel our Direct Debits to the energy suppliers independently and send them a cheque at the end of the month once they send you a paper bill, preferably, to make the point that we know they're taking the pi s s.
All 30 types.. 🤣
Have to agree there 🤣
@@Steve-Owens pig ears ! 😂
Without the sauce, lok lok is tasteless
Is it, I thought not?
