Wow.. Easily my favorite song from news of the world. Ive heard the greddie version and definatley brian singing lead is better vocally. Its a song where less is more. And i find it myself vocally a very challenging to get the emotion in of the original as it is very dry and hollow feel. Its briliant theater. You blew me away. Everything i loved about queen recording you nailed its complicated simplicity on that level. Not sure that makes much sense but im not sure of the words. Just awesome.
After listening 3 more times... Still just impressed with your lead vocal. I think i heard a hint of reverb in the lead. Guys like me need tons of reverb... Flange.. Chorus... Echo.. Distortion.. Phase.... Being honest... You need absolutely no depth added. Your voice is very high quality in timbre... Yoy have great control and very good dynamics. For this song... You very much are a perfect vocalist. Dead dry would even be better in the recording. Im listening on a crappy lg phone with 10 dollar headphones. But i think it a hint of reverb. The harmonies a wonderful. Something about a honest recording is always better. Just takes some talent. You got all that in spades vocally.
