Hey 👋 So I am launching my new website today at 3pm, so my website is currently locked until then, but once it's 3pm have a look at the free resources section I have added a bunch of new ones, as well as the pencil tool practice sheet :) www.abiconnick.co.uk/
Unfortunately I think the link is not working! I loved all of your other resources as well, and I’m excited to use this resources once the link is fixed! ❤

Why when u draw over the font. The shape will change directly instead of creat a new object? Sorry if I asked a stupid question cuz I have never use this function before
My teacher always said don’t touch types, draw all the pretty lines you want but you don’t touch type you don’t draw on it, or stretch it out or warp it in anyway. There’s so much math involved in typography that eyeballing it is like spitting on the hundreds of hours spent by the type designer to get it right. All the graphic designer should be doing is placing and adjusting the space between the letters not warping the whole thing
i genuinely hate that its called "adobe illustrator" when its a graphic design tool, and PHOTOSHOP is for illustration. it should be called "adobe designer"
what they dont fucking tell you in these illustrative videos is that theyre using a pad and stylus. thats the secret. they draw with a stylus. so if your pencil tool skills suck with a mouse or trackpad, its because its being used with. a stylus.
Well my graphic design teacher banned my class from using the pencil tool because “it needs to be precise”
So we use the pen tool instead
That Sounds a little dumb to me😅
You can just clean it up after.
Our teacher allows everything, but always checks how precise it is when grading
ok? why comment about it here then

But, how can you using pencils to draw such nice curve line without crook? Did you hold any other key while drawing those lines?
How do you stabilize the pencil tool like that if I could ask? Like get it to snap to a smooth shape after the wobblier lines?
Why when u draw over the font. The shape will change directly instead of creat a new object? Sorry if I asked a stupid question cuz I have never use this function before
You start on the path and end on the path. Instead of creating a new shape, it alters the lettershape instead.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to this, really appreciate it :)

Practice on GIMP. Adobe is too expensive for the learning graphic artist and Adobe claims rights over your work now because of A.I integration.
