When I raise my pigeons we used to use a little flea powder under each Wing rub it in and then let him fly never had any feather lice

Tahsin Ali I used Liquid hand soap. Any brand should work.

It's better to rinse with water after soaping. No need to rub the feathers. It also works by soaking the bird in the soap for a few minutes then rinse with water. I found this way kills all feather mites easily.

Both dish and hand soap should work.

This method is not good for little tropical birds. I did this long ago with a little bird and almost die. Birds should never experience cold temperatures ( tropical ones).
