Great game. That 2001 defense was awesome that year. The offensive line was really young that year and QB Jason White tore his Acl and was done for the year. That kept OU from repeating as national champions.
when Brent mesbuuger said that if the offense can’t do it the defense can . that was a great in back to back games we had defense touchdowns Roy Williams with the fumble and Superman both made possible by Roy Williams. boomer sooner
This was an awesome game. It's kinda weird, it's almost like watching K-State vs K-State, since 4 of the main coaches had just been coaching under Snyder at K-State like the year or 2 before. Bob Stoops, Mike Stoops, Brent Venebles and Mark Mangino.
As good as they played this was the only lousy team K-State had from 1993-2003. They finished in the Top 10 six times in 11 years but this 2001 team went only 6-6 and was the only one in that timeframe to finish the season unranked.
Nate Hybl took an absolute beating that afternoon. K-St blitzed on nearly every play and Nate stood in there and threw fade after fade. It was the same way they played OU in the previous years championship game.
Vince Carter as a freshman at center had his hands full. Remember this game well, looked like it might get out of hand then nutty professor snyder started battling back.
If OU,s backup/starting QB stays healthy all season, Oklahoma beats Miami to win back to back championships. That was the only difference. If Jason White doesn't blow out his knee at Nebraska, that offense hums and that was one of the best collegiate defenses of all time. 2 Outland Trophy winners, 2 Thorpe award winners, 2 Butkus award winners and 2 Nagurski award winners (best defender in nation) on the same starting 11. SMFH.
Roy Williams just horse collaring everyone haha. Love it. BOOMER!!!

It was a young team that grew up tremendously in the 2002 season
Defense won that game. BOOMER!

That was a great one! America needed that at the time and many more like it this fall.
No way. Nobody was touching Miami that year.
we wouldve beat them
I just know it wouldn't be 37 to 14.
