This was a must play tune at all the parties in the late 70s, such a great tune, I’d never seen it live until now, thanks for the great memories.

Saw Trooper in Regina Saskatchewan late 70's. Fortunately as an American I was raised on border. I was exposed to all the good old Canadian rock. Best rock is from Canada.

I lived in northern North Dakota and the only decent rock stations we could get were out of Winnipeg (well, CITI-FM was it) so we grew up with 25% Canadian rock :-)

You know.........I'm 59 years old and have listened to these guys all my life. It wasn't until a few years ago i realized what the song was actually is about, all i thought was raise a little hell because we are young and stupid lol. Now that i have listened to the words very carefully, this song is my number 1 motivational song. I tell my kids, I tell my wife, i tell my brother I'll even tell a stranger..........Hey man if something has you down, dont give up just crank this song up and listen to the words carefully. hopefully it will move you like it has moved me. Raise a little hell!

There are parts of the vocals that, if I close my eyes, sounds a whole lot like Freddie Mercury. Kudos and Canadian RnR is criminally underrated in the States outside of the Big 8. Trooper deserves its place in the Hall, no doubt.

here's the weird thing, just saw an old video of them singing this song on a Vancouver show called ,"one night stand'. 1970 , where they close the show with ,"raise a little hell". The band , "Head East", also sings this song. Iv'e always believed that Trooper is the originator of this song. Did Head East cover this song or is it the other way around?

I didn't know Tommy Stewart at all. He was the eldest. Played soccer with Bob. He was good. Nice family. Father was Chief of Police of Vancouver. Ironically their house was burglarized a few days before they moved from Boundary Road at Moscrop. Jimmy and my sister Laura were the boy and girl best smile of the same year at high school. Tonight is my memory lane night.

My man apprenticed under Randy Bachman and got his first Engineering credit on the Orange album. He has worked with more Canadian bands over the year than I even knew there were that many lol. In the 16 months I was fortunate enough to have him in my life I don't think a single day went by that he didn't have a story or anecdote or fyi about Trooper. This song stuck with me all these years and today I can play every single Trooper song on drums, and sing every word. I go into my studio some nights wanting to be alone and I start belting out this song on a legendary drum kit that Neil Peart of Rush gave my man when he retired in 2015. I've been offered "10 figures" for the kit but memories are priceless. Not to mention I've been in every NHL Arena in the league and this song is played in every single arena, there's maybe 5 bands ever that hold that distinction

    Words to live by.😎
Back when this was brand new, I was a Radio DJ at ASJS. I was green but wanted to be a good DJ. The one thing I knew, or heard often regarding Showbiz, was always leave them wanting more. So I closed the noon hour set with this song.
The procedure in those days was after lunch the kids did Undisturbed Silent Sustained Reading, or USSR. It was meant to mellow everybody out after smoking pot all lunch hour, I mean, playing innocent children's games. Anyways, I get called to the Principals Office shortly after USSR starts.
The Principal informs me my music was too Stimulating to the kids, and Teachers all over were complaining because the kids wouldn't mellow out. I was told to play less Stimulating Music, particularly at the end of the set. I of course promised to comply, which of course I totally didn't. This was the power of media. This was Rock and Roll. This was my calling. And this is The Song that Set My Soul on Fire 🔥. Raise A Little Hell 🤘😈🤘
