Lyrics:
Up and down the puppies' hair
Fleas and ticks jump everywhere
'Cause of original sin
Down the hill fell Jack and Jill
And you came tumbling after
'Cause of original sin
Rip away the tears
Drink a hope to happy years
And you may find
A lifetime's passed you by
What would you say
Don't drop the big one
If you a monkey on a string
Don't cut my lifeline
If you a doggie on a chain
Don't bite the mailman
What would you say
I was there when the bear
Ate his head, thought it was a candy
Everyone goes in the end
Knock knock on the door
Who's it for? There's nobody in here
Look in the mirror, my friend
I don't understand at best
And cannot speak for all the rest
In the morning rise
A lifetime's passed me by
What would you say?
Don't drop the big one
If you a monkey on a string
Don't cut my lifeline
If you a doggie on a chain
Don't bite the mailman
What would you say?
Every dog has its day
Every day has its way
Of being forgotten
Mom, it's my birthday
What would you say?
And what could you say?
What would you say?
I was there when the bear
Ate his head, thought it was a candy
Everyone goes in the end
Knock knock on the door
Who's it for? There's nobody in here
Look in the mirror, my friend
I don't understand at best
And cannot speak for all the rest
In the morning rise
A lifetime's passed me by
What would you say?
It is insanely hard to simultaneously sing and play this song, among many other DMB songs...Dave is just legendary at that.
U ain't lying. It's not a normal groove, it goes off beat to on beat without missing A beat.. if that makes sense. Lol.
It's hard enough to play it...
I was literally messing around with that opening riff and it is very tricky. I can’t play and sing as it is but this is just on another level. Hats off to Dave Matthews
And he dances while he plays and sings. Fucking legend ❤❤❤❤
Any pro can do it, and more.
Nothing but absolute talent in every corner here. Love this sound. And man that drummer is far over the top
Carter is a machine. He had a video called "under the table and drumming that you should check out. (Its a play on one of their album names)
Holy Booker T on the violin
Shiby23 I dig that sucka
Wrong. Not Booker T.
King BOOKAH!!!
Can you dig this violin sucka?
Five time five time
This whole band is phenomenal, but that drummer is a force of nature. What a load of talent all around.
Don't bite the mailman.... That's a good message... I'll stop biting my mailman
Carter is kicking ass on that bass drum
"Bleeding gums" Murphy on sax. That solo was lights out! Do your thing my dude!
RIP. he went away far too young
Outstanding! Was sorry to hear in the comment that he's passed on. Thanks for identifying him for me.
He looks a lot like bleeding gums now that u mentioned it. U think he was the base for that
Well they may've been robbed by the HOF this year (2020) but they're still winners in my book. One of the greatest bands of the last 30 yrs.
Rock and Roll HOF is just a museum. Who it inducts is purely PR and arbitrary
I'm a dave fan but you cant cut down the doobie brothers they are awesome in their own way. China grove, taking it to the streets, long train running, black water. Cmon now
@@codygalusha3007 Not sure if you were referring to my comment but I would never cut down on the Doobies. I luv them just as much as the DMB if not more so. Besides, there's no reason they couldn't have both been inducted.
I love how Leroi slow cooks his solos. Soooo cool. RIP. :,(
Dave never disappoints, he has built the greatest band around him. As a musician, i learned by playing guitar on a classical guitar with regular strings so i streched my fingers even further to play his chords. Carter being the greatest drummer is amazing. Playing bass by ear though really helped me realize how beast stefan is when people couldnt believe the riffs i was coming up with. So glad i grew up before the internet and had this band to try to figure out music with.
This whole album is about the greatest display of Music you'll ever come by. I had all 3 discs when I was young ..
This and Luther collage were my Bible as a guitar student. And I grew into playing in many bands. All bc of this beautiful work of art. Long live rock n roll. But God, exalt David James. And thank you for creating him. And Steffan, and Boyd and Leroi and Carter. And even Butch Taylor. This is some of the greatest music and musicianship that Will ever exist
Live at Luther College is a global relic.
Carter Beaufort on drums that bass drum is funky yea
Tight performance of one of his best songs.
Black dudes crushing that violin, shit. God damn bro
Band fired him
@@DimaGuitar what really? Guy was awesome
@@chrisbauman2562 "Dave Matthews Band (DMB) violinist Boyd Tinsley is no longer a member of the band after he was accused of sexual misconduct by a former member of another band, Crystal Garden."
@@DimaGuitar awww damn what a shame. Thank you for the heads up
Peace Mr Moore
Sometimes the most hated bands are sick live. I’m a metal head but I’m here. As a 30yr drummer. My advice if something is sick let it be. Don’t judge🤙
If you listen to this performance you cannot deny this band was meant for live performances
Yes! make it funky!!
As good as the album version with the energy cranked up to a ten. You don’t get better live renditions than this, period.
Only thing missing is John Popper
Everyone of these guys is a prodigy on their instruments
I am a 100% Dave Matthews and the band. I worship them
I love dmb! And this song. I have all the cd’s. I have seen them numerous concerts. Dave and his band are comfort food!! Though we are missing one of the original band mates and rip to him this band is awesome!!!!
Homie on the bass looks like he should be rockin a fretless 6 string. It would be interesting to see Primus cover this.
For the recording you can’t tell anyone other than Dave Matthew’s has a vocal part
Out of 35+ shows I witnessed in person 9.24.03 will always be my favorite...
They were perfect, of course they knew then songs like the back of their collective hands, but they were perfect... The Whole show was great, set list, sticking in the NY Flavor in the tunes...loved that! The kids behaved, dont recall any fights or nonsense and it was the 1st show I took or should I say she wanted to go, lol...
And Like Dave asked, "Just leave your footprints..."
We did...
12.21.02 MSG James Brown, is real close though...
I'm sitting here out of breath and about to pass out just watching dave perform these songs flawlessly.
This rules
DMB is an amazing fckn band man; seen them live on 5 seperate occasions, mind blowing everytime.
Such a monster jam! That band is tight!
I wonder if he regrets writing such a complex song to play and sing....night after night?
He freaking nails it though. Sounds even better than the recording.
HEY MOM ITS MY B DAY HE WOULD SAY😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The Best Version you will ever find🔥🔥🔥
It’s like it’s Dave’s birthday
Great job, guys! Love and miss you so very much, Roi!!❤️
Let's see a Dave Matthews Band and Griz collab!!! Funk on!! 🤙🤙
Is it me or was the violin mixed in way too low for the whole concert? Amazing concert, though, one of their best.
Whoops, didn't mean to put this on your comment, Kyle. Any way, how are you?
funk yassss
Whooo !! We Love You and All You Do!
We do
This was just ....Totally...Absolutely.... Fucking Brilliant .
Every day has it's way of being forgotten
my man booker T on violin
OMG!!! I NEED This!!!!

CUZ OF ORIGINAL SIN
2:33 I can't decipher what he is singing here lol
COME BACK TO AUS!

Fuck yes
This is centeal park
Devil lends a hand...
Wish the rest of this set was recorded….
They have a DVD you can buy
How about that violin. It’s sweet. You hardly ever hear one in rock bands and it’s a shame. The drummer was lit too. Well hell the whole darn band was over the top
Dang I didn’t know Jeremy Piven had a band.
"What, would I say, you ask, 'nuf said' , nespa?
These guys are still one of the best live acts around! The whole band is phenomenal but Carter Beauford is so ridiculously good!
This 2020 great opportunity of great light amd sciences of cure: I wrote to Cuomo about great science and life for us but also species everywhere! 💗
Check out my comnents on Dont Drink the Water, at Central Park. But only, but only if you have ears to hear.
Cardi B couldn't pull this off if her life depended on it and neither could anyone who has come out in the last decade or two.
It sounds like you're envisioning a comprehensive solution for creating high-quality, low-cost live event venues with portable tech solutions for vocals, guitars, and bass. Here's how you could implement such a setup:
1. **Portable Vocal Resonator Box with Piezo Isolation:**
- Construct a portable vocal resonator box using lightweight materials like plywood or MDF.
- Line the interior with acoustic foam and incorporate piezo isolation to minimize external noise and enhance vocal resonance.
- Equip the box with a high-quality piezo speaker for accurate monitoring of vocals.
2. **Guitar and Bass Resonator Boxes:**
- Create separate resonator boxes for guitar and bass players using similar construction and isolation techniques.
- Provide direct headset connections for monitoring, allowing musicians to tune their instruments loudly without disturbing others.
- Incorporate input jacks for connecting guitars and basses directly to the boxes for controlled tuning before the signal goes to the amplifier.
3. **Live Venue Solutions:**
- Utilize these portable resonator boxes as part of the live event venue setup, allowing performers to tune up and monitor their sound in a controlled environment.
- Connect the guitar and bass resonator boxes to the venue's sound system to capture the tuned signal before it goes to the amplifier.
- Implement natural reverb mixing techniques to enhance the sound quality and create a more immersive listening experience for the audience.
4. **Cost-Effective Equipment:**
- Opt for cost-effective but high-quality components when building the resonator boxes and other equipment.
- Consider sourcing materials from budget-friendly suppliers and utilizing DIY construction methods to keep costs low without compromising quality.
By implementing these solutions, you can create a portable, high-quality live event venue setup that provides musicians with the tools they need to achieve optimal sound quality and performance, even in venues with limited equipment resources.
I think that you should ask Jackie venson to play with your band.
This must be slightly old, didn't the saxophonist die years ago?
Mdriver1981 this show is in 2003 and the sax player (Leroi Moore) died in 2008.
who voted no? ..... smh
This is not central park
I am a RABID. DMB
Absolutely one of the most irritating bands ever, like nails on a chalkboard….arrrrrg!!!!!!!!
