- Palmer Courtlandt, his wife Donna Tyler Courtlandt are vacationing in Switzerland. Donna's ex-husband is there, too, naturally, when tragedy strikes with far-reaching consequences. Back in Pine Valley, recent arrival Jesse Hubbard is accused of copying Angie Baxter's lab report at Pine Valley High School. Meanwhile Benny's gambling addiction worsens. Robert Morse ("How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying") plays Benny's bookie. Also: Myra, Cliff and Nina have filler scenes. Cast: James Mitchell, Candice Earley, Richard Van Vleet, Darnel Williams, Debbie Morgan, Vasili Bogazianos, Robert Morse, Kate Dezina, Taylor Miller, Elizabeth Lawrence, Peter Bergman.
Had no idea Robert Morse was on AMC.
A shame Estelle was killed off. She could have been a legacy character. I would have brought her back in ghostly form over the years like Natalie was.
Hating seeing her killed off along with Frank Grant.
@@rockyracoon3233 And Anne Tyler. Dumb to write them out!
I agree. It was horrible Estelle was my favorite character! They really never did anything else much with Benny after that. Except he married Donna and that’s about it. If they wanted to write them off they could have moved to Rhode Island or something.. at least she wouldn’t have been killed off.
Well you know Billy Clyde saw a ghost of Estelle in the 90s a couple of times. Then he thought Dixie was like her. But still I hate they killed her off. She was my favorite
@@MegaMark67 Do you have those clips because the actress never ever returned.
I never saw this one the man fell to his death trying to save full food Palmer should have left him down there. Donna was Donna was yelling and screaming crying all that noise ain't one tear on the face no water on her face her face is in red and nose isn't red oh Lord what a horrible
😂♡♡♡♡♡♡
Thanks so very much for adding this .. I LOVED Kate Dezina as Estelle. she was my favorite character. If you have any more episodes with her on them it would be awesome to see them.
I love Kate Dezina too
Estelle was my favorite.
@@timboyd3058 she was so underrated. I never thought any other soap character was that loving and down to earth such a great character.
@@MegaMark67 i am turning in for the night but will write more tomorrow. Its great to chat with a fan of Kates. I was very disappointed when they killed her off. I remember she hot a role in a short lived night time show called The Hamptons produced by ex General Hospital producer Gloria Monty. She played an attorney, Cherl Ashcroft. The show was a summer run and unfortunately didn't get picked up. I look forward chatting more.
Kate Dezina was beautiful!
@@rockyracoon3233 I agree. I wish I could see her again online or something sometime.
Darnel Williams was so young and cute, he still is.
It's hard to believe Robert Morse looked that young.
I was born in 1979 and I'm just learning about Cliff/Nina/Sybil plotline. Would you happen to have the shows that show when Sybil got shot by Sean and the murder trial with Cliff?
Was it her decision to leave or the writers?
Who? Estelle?
@@rhsharp The actress that played Estelle. She was there from 1977 - 1982.
Wasn’t Frank and Anne also killed off in 1982, as well.
@@travisjames3517 I’m pretty sure it was the writers’ decision.
@@travisjames3517 yes, Frank died in ‘82. I think Anne died before that.
"I loved AMC from its premiere through the 80s. The period of 1977 - 1984 was, in my opinion, the golden years for the show. When Adam Chandler came on the scene in 1985, the show changed for me and it lost something. That is not to say that David Canary was anything but excellent in his role. I just didn't like the over-exposure of Adam..." I agree Robert. I think because of DYNASTY's popularity in '83, '84 we were seeing affluence on so many soaps like we had never seen before...ALL MY CHILDREN was about the Martins and the Tylers...and the Cortlandts as a rival family for the Tylers...and then the Chandlers as a rival family for the Cortlandts...this edged characters out and made the show more about the haves than the have-nots in my opinion. And if you weren't a Tyler, or a Cortlandt, or a Chandler, never fear you were upper middle class as a Martin, a Baxter, or a Nelson...
Frankly I don't think the working class disappeared in Pine Valley until the 2000's.Up until then they seemed to try to maintain a balance.
@@bull705 , I agree.
They really spared no expense back then. Wow! To have that kind of money now. Too bad they didn't see the cancellation come thirty years later.
Too bad Donna and Chuck didn't have a cell phone! I remember Jesse and his attitude. :)
Jesse: Ma! Ma why did you have to go and die on me like this.
:(

Thank you for this! I watched it from beginning to end after my college roommate got me hooked on it! But, isn't anybody going to mention ROBERT FREAKING MORSE!!!
This would have been the year I remember watching from the age of 9. My first memory was an Erika and Silver storyline, where Silver was a nutjob or something. Would love to fund those shows!
