@@Dajumper24 Honored, thanks !!
I appreciate ur this video how beautiful 😍 is I love nature fall cozy
watching the dance between you and your wife is like reading a poem... beautiful
Thank you 🙏
This thing smokes the Blackmagic cameras IMO, although they are great value. Image quality is just so good. Great work!
I love BMD, but I have to agree. The second I started filming with the Komodo, I was blown away.
Shout out from Zimbabwe, Africa.
I can't get enough from this video. Your shots are addictive
You are so kind! Thank you so much Donald!
Beautifully shot, graded, scored, and cast. Keep up the good work!
Dope work! Really dig how you graded it and the (e)motion of your shots! Fire!
Thank you so much!
Absolutely beautiful colours and spirited cinematic film

Thank you so so much!
Cool! Finally some valuable footage with this camera! Great shots man
Thanks it was my first time with a RED so it took me a bit to figure out how it works. I honestly guessed a lot, but scopes saved me! Also color grading this camera it’s very different

Inspiring colors. Makes me think hard about my next MV and if I should give the Komodo a go...
i love this!
The BMPC stands up so well with this I think. Great job dude.
They are definitely comparable cameras
Great job🙏
Incredible as always man
Thanks man! You re so kind. You honestly inspire my work so much. All those smooth zooms in in post are something that I hands down took from watching your work all the time
and also, do you recognize any of YOUR film refugee flares :D ??
Just brilliant! Everything is great- colors, editing, music...One of my favorite Komodo video on the net.
Would be curious if you only used the sigma 18-35 or some other lens too?
Again, congrats for the result!👏👏
I did use the Tokina 11-20 on the gimbal sometimes
@@AxiA is it the tokina cine lens or the APSC camera one ?
Amazing video by the way
@@debroy379 the apsc one unfortunately
Insane man. Such a big fan of your work.
Thank you so so much man! I’m glad you liked this 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@AxiA I saw your colors of Colorado video first and it sent me on a binge of consuming bmpcc footage. I’ve watched nearly every single video on it and to date, nothing has topped the beauty of your color grade and cinematography in those shots! Just crazy awesome bro. I saw you live in the L.A. area would love to pick your brain and buy you lunch. I’ll be purchasing a bmpcc 6k soon myself! Here’s my website if you have the time to check it out! www.glassdarklyphoto.com
I didn't even realize you could pin the location on UA-cam lol. Were in CO as well. Glad to see your part isn't on fire lol.
This looks amazing, love the grade so much. Still waiting on my Komodo to arrive. This is one of the best looking videos I have seen so far from one.
Love to hear that!! Excited for you getting a Komodo yourself!
@@AxiA Thanks! Should be shipping any day!
Great job! And Beautiful wife! 👌
Thank you so much!
Woooow. 🔥👌💯🙏
Thank you !!
finally, some sample footage that actually looks like professional cinematic footage. For some reason alot of the sample footage i've seen is like very flat hipster shit. And i see in the comments i'm not the only one that noticed this. Good job.
Thank you so much!! Glad you liked it!
Love this video!
Grandeeeeeee
Amazing looking frames man! Great job!!!
Thank you so much!!!
I really enjoy everything that you put together, so don't take this the wrong way, but while watching all I could think of was please, just smile, even once and let us know that you're enjoying yourself and that you're happy being there. All the bright and wonderful colours of Autumn, something that we in Australia rarely see, and your wife/model has an almost scowling, indifferent, face throughout the video, in almost a complete contrast to the landscape.
Don’t worry I get what you’re saying :D I guess I should have directed her better! Next time she will smile more, thanks for your input !
@@AxiA No problem. Given the less than stellar year that we've experienced, I seem to be looking for a bit of joy and optimism in the world, which is badly needed. It's really not your fault, as I've noticed over the last few years that there seems to be a tendency for girls/women not to smile when they, for example, take selfies. I raised this with a photographer who was taking some really fine photos of models to increase his portfolio and asked why the models never smile, as they always had a sour face. Their reply was to quote some well known photographer (forget the name and given what they said, quite forgettable), but it went somewhat along the lines of 'If the model smiles in a photograph, it's just a snapshot'. My view is that a woman's beauty and character is amplified by a smile and a glimmer in her eye.
This is the filmmaker's creative expression, not a documentary. Perhaps you should consider reading Roosevelt's speech, "Citizenship in a Republic" (also known as "Man in the Arena").
Awesome as always man! Are you going to make a video about how you achieve your epic lighting setups?
Thank you! there are some videos where I Breakdown my process already on my channel, take a look.
So good!!
Thank you so much!
amazing as always man :D
Thank you so much !!!
So good
This is beautiful.
Thank you so much!
GOOD WORK!
Just woww. Please make a video on how to color grade ? Beautiful imagery
Thank you so much! I might do one at some point!
I watched so many of your shorts that I was waiting on Joe Daru to pop up at the end of this video as the annoying third wheel or something lol. Either way, this was 🔥🔥🔥 man.
LOOOOL AHAHA! we are working on a new short film what will come out hopefully soon... we got one more scene left to shoot... that next short film will be shot half with the BMPCC4k and half with the Komodo!
You are amazing man
Here from the komodoo group color is dope and the dynamic range is insane
True that! Thank sir! Appreciate it
amazing work bro
Thanks a lot!!
Played this on the 70 inch TV and damn the image is amazing.

awesome work! just waiting to get our hands on a komodo so we can create a dedicated profile for it - which profile did you use in the meantime?
Incredible, nicely done. & Amazing drone shots Paisley! *clap clap*

WOW this shit looks amazing I didnt want one because of the low light but it light my God its great

@@AxiA please do
Low light is just as good
Amazing 🙏
Thank you so much!
beautiful man.
Thank you so much!!!
I'm not sure if its the UA-cam compression. I've been trying to cross compare C70 and Komodo footage due to the similar price points and specs. But HOLY SHIT every Komodo test footage video I see if god damn gorgeous. They look is so unique and CRISP
I think komodo for pure IQ. other than that the C70 offers more
This is really good! So smooth, beautiful colors and framing! Did you use a gimbal, or is it just really good shooting handheld and post stabilization?
Thank you! I did use the gimbal for some shots but handheld in many shots too! You can see the gimbal ones because the horizon doesn't tilt, while I usually like dutch angles when I handheld. The camera doesn't have IBIS so I really have to try the shots a few times to get them very smooth and then top them with Warp Stabilizer in post
@@AxiA Thank you for the explanation!
I saw one warp stabilizer pulsation, but other than that this video was perfect!
Thank you man! Yeah I warped some shots, a less trained eye usually doesn’t catch it! Glad you liked it overall
Amazing! What codec did you use in filmconvert?
Impressive visuals
Thank you so much !!
Awesome work here Axia! In terms of the camera movement/dutch angle rotating shots, was that done handheld or in post production?
Handheld and post stabilization!
Awesome film man 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you so much!
Loved it . U make every thing so beautiful in this video. How u achieve the soft look. Did u use Black mist pro ?
I did use black pro mist 1/4
@@AxiA thanks
Very good!
Thank you!!
🤩🤩🤩
Officially coloring has no more secrets for you!!!!!
Ehehe grazie Paolo!
What lens did you use on this, I love the flares. Great job once again
Sigma 18-35! I did some flares in post
@@AxiA nice work. Thank u
Beautiful shots! Was stabilization all in camera, or did you stabilize in post as well?
Thank you! I did use the gimbal for some shots but handheld in many shots too! You can see the gimbal ones because the horizon doesn't tilt, while I usually like dutch angles when I handheld.
I didn't believe the Komodo was any better than the BMPCC 6k until I saw this and what mastering color grading actually does when you have a camera like this. I mean of course if you take a look at the specs you know it but I couldn't see the size of the difference because I've seen BMPCC users pull off way better images than most Komodo users on YT.
Komodo is definitely better. It's also a more expensive camera overall. I love both cameras!
@@AxiA Now I think it will be my next step up when I feel like my BMPCC limits me and I have mastered it completely. But I'm still unsure since you can get used DSMC2 Helium bodies for less and less in my country.
wow really amazing
Thanks man! Appreciate it
@@AxiA the drone was also the red ?
awesome job!! an incredible montage! what lens did you use with this?
Sigma 18-35 and sometimes the Tokina 11-20 2.8
I wasn't going to bother with this camera because i have a G2... but this might have changed my mind. Beaut.
Are you using promist, or do the highlights just roll off that nicely? Amazing
I did use a black pro mist 1/4 ! However the RED highlight Roll off is great. A bit softer than BM I think. Dynamic Range is also better. I’m speaking for the pocket cameras, G2 might be better
amazing, how you stay on focus using the movement camera?
Did you pull off that clean zolly shot by yourself? If so I am insanely impressed. I’ve seen a dp and 1st ac doing this and having decent results. But yours was perfect. Color grade was great, shots were impressive. Nice job man!
Thank you! It was super easy. I used deep focus and as I walked away from talent with the camera on the gimbal on straight line. In post I did zoom in on the shot digitally and the effect works great because you have a foreground element (my wife) and a background element (the mountains) that is what is needed to create this effect more than anything : composition
@@AxiA dang that all makes sense. I’m impressed with the whole video.
Bro!!!!! Just know you're making me order a Komodo too, magnificent visuals also what lens you used?
:D thank you! I used the Sigma 18-35 and Tokina 11-20 on gimbal
@@AxiA can't wait for your Comparison between Komodo & Black magic, also A7Siii video, I'm on the fence deciding between these 3 but leaning more towards Komodo... can't decide...
Pls make video on how u graded this in davinci. exceptional. , Also did u use the black pro mist on the lens as it looks in the video. , 2:24 how did u do that zoom and focus pull same time while moving camera back.
Great video! Would you say the image quality RED komodo gives is worth the $6k? I hvae a gh5 and am thinking about upgrading, but I can't decide between the sony a7siii and the komodo. Is the komodo really that much better than the a7siii?
It really depends what you need more. For sure the Sony has a good image and it’s super versatile and easy to work with with IBIS and AF... however it’s image it’s always gonna look a little digital and not like a real cinema camera. If you shoot everything run and gun then the Sony it’s the right camera... if you plan your shots and can take multiple takes of the same shot to make sure exposure and focus are perfect then the Komodo it’s a the better tool cause it will give the best image. Maybe consider the black magic pocket camera that are way cheaper than the Komodo and they come close in terms of image quality
@@AxiA I just want a camera that is portable, and will allow me to capture those 1 in a lifetime moments (like certainsunsets, natural phenomenon like northern lights, etc) without having to worry about iso, exposure, etc. I want to be able to focus on composition rather than the science of nailing exposure in high pressure moments where every second matters. Shooting on raw does this for me, but I wasnt sure if the image quality was that much better than a Sony a7siii or what not.
@@wcsdiaries that’s then the right camera for you
@@AxiA does the komodo require a lot of accessories to use? Could it and the lenses needed fit in a carry on bag you think?
@@wcsdiaries you definitely need to rig it. I’d say a side handle and a monitor are nightly required. Beside that, unless you’re into post production work like color grading I would scrap the idea of a Komodo, being you’ll see the better images only if you spend time color grading the raw footage.
Amazing is the word. Hats off to you sir. Mind sharing who is the song by? I love not only the footage but also the music.
Thank you so much! Tyler Williams - all my love is yours
i dig it :)
Thank you!!
WOWW AMAZINE VIDEO BROTHER
Thank you so so much !!
Nicely done, but I think it needs more hawk sound effect 😆. Can you share your shooting process - the gear the setups, and also your post workflow?
YES MORE HAWK!! Camera was very minimal setup, just side handle and monitor. Shooting process was very simple, I would alternate gimbal shots to handheld, I didn’t really plan much, when I driving when I saw something I liked I stopped and went filming. In post I edited in premiere pro, then colored in Resolve
@@AxiA would love to see a grading tutorial! great video
Wow, compliments, very nice video. What gimbal did you use? Lenses?
Grazie mille!
Love it! Was that shot completely on RED and sigma 10-35? Wondering how did you do the dolly in/zoom out effect manually and so stable. Also, did you use the A7Siii at all or just on the tags? Too many questions haha
Yes those are just tags to try to get some people who are wondering what camera to buy next. There’s one time lapse that was made with my Sony A7iii because red raw it’s way too big to do a time lapse lol it would take me over 500gb. The drone shots were the DJI mavic pro 2. The rest it’s all Red Komodo. I will make a similar video soon with the Sony A7siii :D to see how much I can push colors around with that camera.
Which dolly zoom you mean ?
@@AxiA at 2:23
@@GustavoRattia that was me with the gimbal walking away from my wife and in post I zoomed it. Because of the foreground and background it creates the vertigo effect
@@AxiA awesome man, thanks for all your responses. I’m waiting for my Komodo to arrive. Great job and here’s one more supporter.

Very nice. Did you take yr own Foley or use a service etc?
What kind of rigging did you use,handheld/gimbal setup?
Very smooth footage, great colours and very well put together.
Amazing!
Thank you! I did use a gimbal for some shots but handheld in many shots too! You can see the gimbal ones because the horizon doesn't tilt, while I usually like dutch angles when I handheld. I always top everything with a little bit of warped stabilizer!
@@AxiA I see.
Definitely looks like you did not have the same experience as with the bmpcc4k being your first cinema camera.
Since you know what you are doing now.
I feel you on that one!
Currently have the bmpcc4k via rental and man it does not look cinematic 🤣
Beautiful work man! Were you using RED's new autofocus or pulling focus manually?
I didn’t use autofocus... didn’t work well in my tests :/ I saw some tests where it performed very well
@@AxiA Thanks for the reply! Good to know.
This footage looks amazing!
Thank you so much !!
Nice camera huh? Really looks good.
Yes it's pretty dope!
Best Komodo footage I've seen so far and I really mean it!! I was after this camera from day one that appeared on the web and when the time came to pull the trigger I got preordered Canon C70. I discovered your channel 3-4 months ago and I admire the work you have done Axia! I haven't work with Red cameras except r3d raw files that I have gathered around the web for exercise my color grading skills and test the image quality. Im not sure that I took the right decision but from the other hand c70 with AF, NDs and DGO sensor took my enthusiasm from Red to Canon. I would like your opinion on my difficult to choose matter. Keep up the great work!!
I believe the c70 has all the specs to be great. Cameras are honestly so great right now , so many great ones. C70 offers a lot more for the price. Maybe image quality might not be as high end but I mean it will be close enough that clients will not be able to know the difference.
@@AxiA Thank you for your response Axia! If c70 had CRL also it would be a much easier choice to be honest... but we can't have it all! Best regards!
Did you use only Sigma 18-35 1.8 Lense or were there any other particular lenses..??? Great work man
Also the Tokina 11-20
You are really awesome ... I would like to know how I used the coloring ... I was drawn to color modification
Thanks man! yeah coloring is my favorite part of the process!
