My mother made this yummy cake every Sunday. She made hers in a bunt cake pan. Inverted all the brown sugar and butter and pineapple dripped down the side. This was our treat after lunch., haven't had it years, your's looks recipe looks delicious.!!!!❤❤❤❤
Oh man, I did a Pineapple Upside Down Cake on my channel too, but seeing yours... wow, it's just next level! Kinda makes me think I should redo my video. Yours is seriously impressive! 😅
Magnificent. This will be my next project. I always made one for my children, now they are in their 40’s and I’d forgotten all about it! Your version looks yummy. x
Making this today! 💛 thanks Mand xo P.s. its in the oven now and when thats dine the beef mince pie goes in 😊 Hubby especially is looking forward to dinner, getting spoilt with a dessert 😉
Oh, super recipe, can one use Gluten free flour, or would this affect the way this rises? I prefer gluten free flour, please advise. Thanks . I am hoping to bake this.
do like the way your man enjoys your food - I tend to assess people in dog terms - you to me are a jack russel - lovely but watch it ! your fella now i can't decide - labrador - soft and protective - or a doberman - hard as nails and protective - either way you are a lovely couple and enjoy watching your channel - x
Older Scottish lady here who also loves cooking baking from scratch. I was taught to line my cake time this way from chilchildhood too. Never fails me.
Did you use self rising flour? As I think I told you I’m a pastry chef, and have a couple of tips for you.if you beat your eggs together, then incorporate slowly it’s easier for the butter, and sugar to except the eggs, and a little bit of salt improves most desserts.I use one standard teaspoon to 1 lb (254g) of flour,or if making a milk based dessert half a teaspoon to 1 quart (988g) of milk. That was a pound cake recipe you used, you could also try a sponge type cake as that will work well with an upside down cake.I use to make an almond flour orange upside down cake gluten free at the last restaurant I worked at.Your cake looked lovely, the topping perfect.
hi , Just wondering if you can do my favourite old school pudding? chocolate sponge pudding and pink custard/ mint custard/ white custard. or any other sponge . many thanks ❤ xx
I agree cherries are not needed in baking. But having said that I make 10 inch boiler fruit cakes ( came cooked wrapped in tin foil same way as a steak and kidney pudding as well as fruits slices butter etc cooked in pan before hand ) for about ten family and and friends every Christmas marzipan and fondant icing covered. Majority prefer cherries in but myself and two friends also loathe cherries too. I'm going to be giving your version of this a try tomorrow Thank you very much for the inspiration.
Dearest Mrs Dinner lady could you do some simple roast recipes for the ninja? I bought one recently and I really struggle with timings and settings 🙏 I’d appreciate it so much
The beauty of these older fashioned cakes is they were never meant to be an everyday occurrence rather a special occasion type came so they were not on anyone's menu apart from on high days and holydays. and no I haven't misspelled that.
