Few things that need little more context(if not correction) are : 1. Metro network in Delhi and in all other Indian cities are not 'mostly electrified', they are completely electrified. In fact, our national railway system is close to 90% electrified now, which has become world's largest electrified railway network. This brings us to 2. The National rails is not an archaic system with no plug points/comforts/AC, there has always been AC and non AC classes in those trains too and had charging ports etc, and the latest generation of trainsets(Vande Bharat Trains) and Anubhuti classes of coaches are pretty much top notch in all metrics. 3. Delhi is not an entirely congested or polluted city, that's just one layer of it, yes, in times of year, it's most polluted city, but it is also one of the greenest city on earth in terms of tree cover/area, New Delhi and most other parts of Modern Delhi have one of the best urban roads in India comparable to any other world class cities, the congested areas are mostly from few areas in old Delhi or the suburbs. India is a multilayered, multidimensional country, and everything you see and hear about it is probably true , both good or bad, but the exact opposite of that good or bad and everything in between is also true. Everything, the entire spectrum exists simultaneously.

Delhi's roads are anything but inefficient.. you can reach anywhere with in 30 to 40 min.. however housing system is extremely bad.. compared to peripheral cities of delhi
30-40 mins which time of the day and how many KM's ... yeah lets not brag about infrastructure improvements like Dwarka, overall both cities are 3rd World Shithole thanks to population, substandard infrastructure while i would give LA the vote cause of the beautiful coastline. Overall there are many other cities to reside in the US which offer a much better Quality of Life. Quality of Life phrase is absconding from most of India's cities as folks are simple passing their lives!!
I used to work in Gurgaon, the city in Haryana adjacent to Delhi. On the weekends I could completely use public transport *only* to go back to my hometown Chandigarh (~300kms away). Travel on the yellow line, get off at NDLS, and board a train back home. Incredibly efficient!
I am a proud citizen of Delhi, here since ~10years, grew up here. and believe me when I say Delhi Metro is the lifeline of Delhi, Metro is so good that I don't even feel the need to buy a vehicle now. (as a student) and you can go anywhere in Delhi with it. at such cheap rates (for ex: 40INR for a trip that Taxi would easily eat up 400INR) I love it, it is because of it that in the morning I'm in South West Delhi, to Afternoon in streets of Old Delhi to being in Gurgaon by the evening. It's what makes me love Delhi even more.

I am a resident of Delhi and was born and brought up here itself. And I must say that Delhi city is great. It is ancient city built by demigods, the main protagonists Pandavas from Mahabharata. Then in medival times, sultans from central asia came and ruled here. And then Britishers came. They all understand the significance of this city to administer the whole nation. In Delhi, you can buy a leaking 26m (2x12m) L shaped flat flat, with no tiles and wooden work, and non-working switchboards, which means you have to make it liveable with your own money first just costs 35 lakh (42150 usd approx) on a narrow street where you can park only a two-wheeler. In all aspects the public transit is anything but excellent 👌👌👍. But the main problem is with the housing problem... The DDA(Delhi development authority) is just a hindrance to the pre-existing housing problems, it makes unwanted and unnecessary regulations. Many parts of Delhi has just completely vacant good land which can be utilised but it's just left to rot or to be made into a slum, the land use is completely inefficient though I see the govt. is doing good job near New Delhi housing many govt buildings, it still has to do a lot in other areas, that's why many ppl are moving out of the crowded areas to the adjacent cities which have much better housing policies. The govt also recognises the flaws but doesn't seem to do anything.

The surrounding metropolitan region having booming satellite cities like Gurgaon, Noida take the total population of the Delhi urban agglomeration (Delhi UA) as a common urban area or metropolis to 33 million - largest in the world after Tokyo UA. This is not the population of the entire NCR including villages, it is only the urban area population of the Delhi UA. Entire NCR would come to well over 50 million if the predominantly rural districts in NCR beyond Delhi’s satellite cities are included.
As someone who often transit through Delhi, it is an awful unlivable city, apart from metro and airport I don’t find anything else interesting it’s a dirty shathole
Completely wrong. I am dead sure you are not a public policy/public administration/ city planner. Because the city except the central Delhi is not well designed at all. The understanding of capacity to density ratio and location of residential and industrial and commercial is wrong. If it is rearranged it can still make sense and happiness in a long term and time. Also the choice of new delhi as a capital was may be a decent move at the time of shift but after partition and China as hostile enemy new delhi is not the best location. Ideal location is somewhere down south to have a more safe place to prosper.
Delhi is the best place to be indian capital being a union territory atleast there is no regional racism in this city unlike Mumbai Bangalore etc it accepts people from anywhere across India with open hands .

A normal girl from any part of India wearing simplest of the clothes won't be seen that way but a lady from north east unless looking good, classy would be seen a call girl. So I disagree and I have seen this first hand. Also the whole country has such problems. Being Called Bihari , Mullah , making fun of Sikh at 12 PM etc etc etc. It's a big societal problem

As someone who often transit through Delhi, it is an awful unlivable city, apart from metro and airport I don’t find anything else interesting it’s a dirty shathole

Completely wrong. I am dead sure you are not a public policy/public administration/ city planner. Because the city except the central Delhi is not well designed at all. The understanding of capacity to density ratio and location of residential and industrial and commercial is wrong. If it is rearranged it can still make sense and happiness in a long term and time.
Also the choice of new delhi as a capital was may be a decent move at the time of shift but after partition and China as hostile enemy new delhi is not the best location. Ideal location is somewhere down south to have a more safe place to prosper.
And the capital was only shifted to Delhi coz Kolkata was brewing with revolution and mass protests against the British government.
Delhi is the best place to be indian capital being a union territory atleast there is no regional racism in this city unlike Mumbai Bangalore etc it accepts people from anywhere across India with open hands .
@@shubh8464 ok do we are not discussing the social side of Delhi but the conversation is in the context of geography and the pattern of expansion and its impact. But still you may be do not know but north eastern people are harrassed very badly and called names like chinchu and momos and what not. North eastern women living in Delhi are by default seen as prostitute if she is in average clothes. A normal girl from any part of India wearing simplest of the clothes won't be seen that way but a lady from north east unless looking good, classy would be seen a call girl. So I disagree and I have seen this first hand. Also the whole country has such problems. Being Called Bihari , Mullah , making fun of Sikh at 12 PM etc etc etc. It's a big societal problem
