Safe travels Rob,you're actually doing what most of us would like to be doing👍
Agreed!
Exactly!
Haha yes but trust me after many years of that, many if not all, wouldn't wanna do it anymore. I'm kinda a rob myself
Working at a job I hate that still pays good money. Watching and sometimes feeling like I ought to ruck on/ruck off and start walking.
It's peaceful hiking with you. Thanks for sharing. Love your vlog and your evolving insights.
Love it! You’re doing awesome Rob! 😊
Ohh you’re getting close
Harper Ferry, WV.
Harrisonburg, VA
Is my ole stomping ground .. AT runs thru both places
A lot of great memories in Harpers Ferry, VA
The view of the Potomac is beautiful you can see WV and MD from either side …. Folks tubing down the river
Yeah I’ve heard it has some great views!
@@RobTheNomad yes awesome views !!
Your making great progress! Keep up the good spirits!
good you did it today! take a rest. no one is rushing you!God be with you
Rob, you’re a drummer?
I’M a drummer too.
Drummer 1st, guitarist 2nd.
Too cool.
Yeah been drumming for 30 years!
I wish I was there 😅✌️🇺🇲
Stunning scenery! Once in a lifetime experience! Hope you cherish every step! You are doing fantastic!👍
That swing at the shelter would have been my spot for who knows how long. The sound of birds, shades of greens, different foliage, light dabbling on forest floor...magical. Your a trooper and warrior for pushing through. Thanks for sharing the adventures.
I watch a bunch of UA-cam channels and the common theme is them being themselves, showing simple day to day stuff, some projects but overall just authenticity. Your channel is great! I found you during a hopeless time and found a lot of comfort from your content. I really enjoy your videos because you are calm, beautiful views, etc. It is nice to see you doing well!
That's what I like about certain channels, too. You might like Trybals.
You have a Great life. Do you know how many people wish that they were able to do what your doing?? Thousands. I know I wish I were able, so I'm depending on you to do it for me. I just turned 75 in June. I am from Indianapolis Indiana. Forrest Gump ain't got nothing on you!!
I think this ticking is good for you. You look healthy and alert and I'm glad to see all that food for you guys.enjoy it rob when your older you will look back at these days as the best in your life. And the stories for your kids and grand children.god bless Rob.
You've come a long way from your shelter in the snow Rob!
So nice to hear some “hope” in you! Keep the positive thoughts, this is an awesome journey!! I find myself checking for updates often!!
BEST video EVER Rob!!!!!!!!!! So glad to hear you have shoes waiting !!! That makes me feel 100 percent better for you!! I loved the scenery this time more than ever. Loved the deer in the last shot. Take care n enjoy the break at the church! God Bless You!!
Hey Rob! Mann this adventure is doing great things for you. You're more upbeat, you're getting healthier, you're setting small goals and are meeting and surpassing those goals. You're more motivated and you're more excited about the future! Keep at it and take all of this that you're learning and apply to what you will eventually want to do. You're learning the road map to success and you look happier with each passing step as you go. You'll be a much better version of Rob the Nomad by the time you reach Florida that is for sure and all of us that you're taking along with you can see it. That's too bad they wouldn't let you play. I would have loved to see you playing. We're all excited and always looking forward to your next video and it keeps getting better and better. You have our attention and our hearts. Happy trails Rob and as always we're all praying for you.
Thanks Wayne! I would have loved to have played too!
@@RobTheNomad
I didn't know you could play! I hope one day I get to hear you. I'll be around for a long while and I'm thinking about moving to Florida so it would be great to meet up in Florida! I have a friend in Florida who has all the equipment he's a lead guitarist and is real good. Blessing coming soon to you!
Thank you Rob for sharing your experience, it's almost like being there the way you narrate. A gift you are sharing .
Nice, so glad you got shoes! Great video Rob!
I have to say since I started watching you from the beginning your confidence level is massive now you seem to have no fear!
You have come a long way, but I get a feeling this is only the beginning for you. And I'm not just talking about the apalachian trail! ;) Look after yourself
While you came close to quitting a few days ago. the bounce in your current steps headed South sure sounds, to me, like a winners' pace - confident and getting stronger. Rooting for your DAILY successes from up here in the coastal Maine town of Rockland. ONE STEP AT A TIME, Rob ...
I’ve “come close to quitting” many times. I just don’t. Every single day I say I’m done. 40 years and I still find a way. Quitting would be the end of me.
Thanks for the update Rob! You are doing so well....It's inspiring!
Hope you're having some fun!
Until next time, be safe ♥️
Cool videos, I've seen a lot of this video's he a cool dude with a crazy story nice to see so much of America. Good inspiration. Thanks for the videos ✌️👍
You're getting closer and closer every day!
Love Hoppers ferry it's absolutely beautiful 💜. Be safe Rob. Hope you find a great pair of shoes. 🙏
really enjoyed spending another day with you Rob. hope they let you let you play the drums tomorrow. get a vid of it if you can. happy trails.
Love watching your journey. Wish I could hike the trail.
Good to hear you sounding so positive hun, the deer at the end amazing, one of my favourite animals. stay safe xxxx
You once lived in a house of sticks, then you walked with a stick. You just barely managed to stick with your walk. Hard to tell where your trail leads, for sure your trail leads to change.
And this has only been less than a year! Too bad I didn’t start recording sooner.
Do you plan out your day, or do you just eat when you're hungry or sleep wherever you get tired?
The only planning I do is check points throughout the day. Get water if I need it, eat if I really have to.
Keep up the good work buddy and next month ill be on your patreaon
We’ll be there!
You say several times you are trying to find yourself... You need to give yourself a tap on the shoulder ! I believe that you are much stronger than you let yourself feel !!!!!! Good job. You'll get there !!!!
Thank you!
So rob if you walk 20 miles a day you should hit Georgia and 60 days then right how far have you travelled so far from Upstate New York to now
Hi Rob! I love to see how the woodland changes as you pass through the miles. I smiled through this entire video. I hope you know that you have a lot to be proud of. You are a good man. Your life is your own. There aren't many people who could say that. Be safe, be you. I'm proud of you. Looking forward to your next share.
I have always wanted to walk the Appalachian trail!
Your life is called freedom from the worldly ways. Glad to hear you're getting new shoes. Happy and safe travels. Getting that mountain man look again. Lol
Yeah I’ve been considering finding a barber!
The rhythm of your feet on the path -- it's so calming, along with the green and the spots of sunshine.
Keep going Rob, you are doing great🌻
You are making some tracks now :) The place on the trail was so nice with tent platforms and all !! Nice place you have stopped at. So nice to see places like this with everything one needs and a nice place to lay your head for the night is awesome ! Enjoyed the journey and the talk 😊
Freedom is the greatest part of what you have! I wish I could do what you are doing because sitting in a house stuck on a phone is for the birds. You inspire us all Rob! Keep going and keep showing that never quit spirit. May the mother of the nature you live in guide and keep you.
One day at a time, baby steps. The spirits of the trail will move you, you cannot stop them. Bigger and better all the time!! I think it is wonderful you are taking the time to share your growth with us. Nothing but happiness and huge smiles coming from me. You are making my day. You got this!!
That log shelter and the trail after it was phenomenal. I never would have expected that.
I'm so glad about your shoes! I was worried about you and your feet. What size do you take? Do you have enough to eat? Praying for you as you travel. Thanks for sharing A/T I've always wondered about that trail.
I wear 10.5 wide, and I’m still alive so I suppose I’m eating enough!
Now that you're retired you think you could go do some things. It's hard enough walking through Walmart. But do like watching you.
Harper's Ferry has a sheer rock cliff you can see three states from. Have to watch your step in the woods up there!
Wow sorry I keep forgetting your videos a year old.. for a second there I might hear you reply but after looking when you made it how silly I feel , keep going though. 😎
I am so happy your still on the trail. 30 pounds, Wow! What do you have left in your pack? I would be curious to know? I am using you to decide what I put in my bug out pack. Your the man. Keep going man, I am pulling for you.
I’ll show it again when I have a chance to unpack everything.
Hi Rob, I’m a new subscriber found your channel last night and was really interested in following your journey. I have to say that I am very impressed.
Now I'm retired 70 years old and I can't hike what a booger enjoy watching you though.
A dog is what you need.unconditional love,no judging,just a friend.
Good God a dog? He barely has enough water and food for himself let alone a dog....nope not a good idea right now...maybe when you get to Florida and settle in some place then would be a good idea for a dog
@@420asia Nope a dog don't need water carried and I'm more than willing to buy the food .the mental health and having something that depends on you is healing. Had leg amputated Christmas morning last year if not for my 125lb dog daisy I'd have given up.but if I can learn to walk again and handle a huge dog he can help it out and the companionship is worth more than all the monetary donations people could send.
@@420asia A blind man took his dog from Georgia to Maine years ago.im from Maine 45 minutes from end of the A.T. see him climb mt.katahdin and end hike first words he said was thank you to his golden retriever wouldn't have made it without him
@@derekpennington4979 I respect your opinion
@@420asia Wasn't trying to be disrespectful to you just voicing my opinion as I've see miracles come from someone getting a dog and it saved me personally. I understand what you mean also. Like everyone else my opinion means nothing to anyone but me.
Responsibilities of eating and paying they say work 12 hours again on Saturday you say yes sir yes.
This was another very relaxing video. I enjoy your videos very much. You have become my favorite channel on UA-cam. Don't change anything except that you need ads. Placing them 2/3rds of the way through would be extremely tolerable for most. I know you want to deliver uninterrupted content, but some ads are appropriate for such high quality videos. I get excited to watch when you post. It helps me to escape the world.
What a beautiful 😍 hike. And an impressive mileage accomplished. Know you’re looking forward to new shoes. Best of everything to you.
I'm glad your out and about instead of being stuck in that tent in New York for that long it had to be a little rough mentally.keep up the good work brother
Rob how can we get some hiking boots to you? Live in Vermont and would be happy to mail them to a future shelter if we knew your size etc.
I have shoes on the way!
@@RobTheNomad just saw your new video. Love the Merrill’s. Stay strong we will keep watching. With Love The Vermonters.
Hey Rob,, as always love to hear about your travels and your progress. You are an inspiration to many. Sorry u didnt get to play the drums, I would have loved to hear you play something.. I love drums myself,, but never played. I also like piano. I liked what u said about finding whats missing.. I guess I am on that path as well. Not easy but I have a feeling you are way ahead of me in that game.. I wish you all the best, success and happiness and finding your dream.
Rob - for someone who doesn’t know what they are doing - you are doing a bloody great job - life you should be about doing what you love and you seem to be doing that. Soon as I sort out an issue I am having with Patreon - I will see you on there soon. Much love from Perth Western Australia. Ps - you need to give yourself way more credit than you do! You have been doing a phenomenal job of your vid’s and your hike!
it is rewarding. glad you are doing ok. be safe with food. theres lots of food problems growing. spoiled old not being made right untrained staff handling cooking.. just a heads up you cant afford food poisoning. be safe 👍 nice church.
Rob enjoying these videos proud of you! You are killing it. Your ankle was swollen up bad a few videos back it look like it hurts!!!
Hey Rob iv been watching from across the pond in the UK since the beginning I'm a big fan stay safe my man 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 👊
I definitely enjoy the videos Rob, and it's beginning to feel like I'm traveling along with you. Energy and luck to you.
Happy Trails Rob, you’re getting there! It’s definitely time for some new shoes.👍
So awesome to hear you got new shoes! God's blessings!
👍🏻😎 I play the drums too. I had a set of Pearl Prestige Session Series in clear teal.
The sign, mailbox and post with the rock on it was the halfway point on the AT
There’s so much beauty to see. Those were some nice shelters. Stay safe & healthy, Rob.
You look content & happy
Making great progress
Keep her going Rob
THANKS.
I bet they would let you play drums!
That is such an awesome church !!
Keep truckin Rob! Most of us have no idea what we are doing, don't let that slow you down. Keep on rolling and we'll keep watching!
You are such a rockstar! You continue to inspire us to follow our dreams. They may be hard but if you put one foot in front of the other it’s doable! Be safe and stay happy! You are killing it!
Nature brings us back to being human. Life is beautiful on the trail. One step leads to the next. Leave all worries behind . 🐿👍🏻
It would have been so damn easy to stay in New York at your campsite.
That’s probably what I would have done. I would have started making excuses to stay and just subsist.
But you did it. Opened up an entirely different world for yourself.
Keep pushing for subscribers/expanding- no reason you can’t make a great living letting us wish we were you.
Good for you!
You're kicking ass, bro! You look healthy, happy and strong. New shoes will be a blessing. Thanks for the update, stay safe.
Who da man? ROB DA MAN!
SPECTACULAR BRO.
HEY Rob i really envy you going to Florida as mentioned before been there to visit ( cant stay being Canadian ) but you'll love it and i wish you the best of course and will follow you on this exiting journey to the end and many others as well im sure
Stay Strong Rob!
What a cool little church... Faith, hope, and Brotherhood.
I know you are watching your pack weight, yet have you considered carrying a bible along to read... for inspiration?
'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths'.
Proverbs 3:5-6 King James Version.
The world is a much better place when you dare to believe Providence is on your side... has a purpose for you to achieve... knows your inner struggles.... etc.
Do not be led astray into thinking faith is for the weak. Faith has underpinned so many of the most heroic human endeavors... It can carry you forward when you are at the wall... Faith puts strength into your bones and purpose in your steps.
May you discover God's Grace on this pilgrimage.
Prayers from New Zealand.
I have a Bible my mom gave me when I was a kid and left that with my sister. I don’t carry one. Or any books. Reading isn’t something I’d be able to do out here.
Keep going rob what a great place to stay.
Ah you play the drums. Same here, rock on brotha!
Beautiful scenery!
I've heard a couple of times against dipping the filter end into the water. If the water is contaminated it could transfer the contaminate into your bottle of filtered water. Would be awful to get sick on the trail.
Yeah people have said it. Honestly I only use a filter so I don’t have to answer a hundred times a video why I don’t. And it does taste better. And I usually don’t do that. Only did because I was doing it with the camera.
Rob, you’ve got a good steady rhythm going. It sounds as pleasurable as it looks. You are a professional walker now and giving great pleasure to those of us hanging out for your next video. Again, thanks for sharing because lm really enjoying the walk. 😊 🐨
The reason people watch, work 40 years in a machine shop,
Had one day Sunday to be with my family always wanted to hike go for walks. Yeah I know what a crappy story, only because now I'm 70 years old and can't so watching you helps.😊
Keep your head up man . Your doing something alot of people can't do. Or fear doing . I live vicariously thru your every video. Ty for sharing .
Hello be safe friend good to see ya
I'm gonna keep tabs. Could bring some hookups when you get to Peter's Mountain.
AT is in #WestVirginia for 2 miles.
1 mile near Harper's Ferry - which is of course the AT National HQ.
1 mile near Peter's Mountain.
Holla...
I’ll be through there soon enough!
Do they charge for staying at the hostel?,this video was amazing ,how was the Iron steel shelter?
Yeah they do charge. And it was great! Talked about it in the video.
Looking good Rob, looking good! So what's your foods/ menu like?
Junk food and fast food!
hey rob still going good man your doing great keep up the good work
I’m so enjoying your hike. Stay safe 🕊🙏🏻✨💯❤️👼🎈💥🎉🎊🥳
Thank you Rob! Good show bro
Love the videos. Be safe
Stay strong brother and god bless 🙏

I wonder what his plans are when he gets to FLorida
So do I!
First to comment!! Much love bro!
🙏 I welcome your Video's Rob. Your world in Paradise is so inspiration. Seeing you in your man caves on Ice and giving us viewers tips on camping out is very helpful. Seeing you now and listening to your foot steps walking the trails thru some dense bushland is beautiful. Your Awesome and a trooper. God bless you.
Safe travels!
Glad to hear you’re getting new shoes. 😊👍
