- I got the rest I needed. Had a nice stay at Linda and John’s Blue Mountain Dome Home. Meeting more hikers. Slow but steady.

It has been tough out here. But I keep moving. I just finished uploading this after climbing to the top of a mountain. I’m probably going to post an update soon, or try a live stream, to update you on more than just walking. And answer some questions. I have a lot of thoughts and ideas. Thank you all and take care!

That’s so nice that your able to get food and supplies along the way and places to stay along the trail.
Meeting up with hikers, finding places to stay, take a shower, get more water, food and do laundry is very nice. Some great views this time. Things seem to be going well for you now :) That is awesome to see :) Thanks for taking us along. Enjoyed watching 👍😊

Yeah my Rob fix..... I work in an area that has quite a few trail heads for the Appalachian trail.... I stop when I can at them have my lunch and live vicariously through your videos...
Those little outposts places you stopped at are nice, I had no clue that they had it setup like that. These videos are great man.
Yeah they’re everywhere, and a ton of random campsites along the way.
Its surprising how much water a person can drink exercising outdoors.
So much water! 90 today and mostly uphill. Can’t stop drinking.

I am glad you keep on this journey. If shit gets too rough on the trail, tho, maybe you can get yourself a bicycle and make better time in a different mode - if you can get one donated with one of those kid trailers, you could haul all your needed goods along with ya, too. I hope your bursitis subsides to make it easier for you,
My knee is fine now luckily. A bike is faster, but a lot harder than walking.
Enjoyed the awesome views, the birds, seeing you, and the obstacles huge rocks can be. Neat that there’s places like Berts along the way. Always thought the trail would be very wide from all the people who walk it and well maintained like a park. Not so, this hiking is hard work 😓 and you are doing it! Yay 😃!!!
Mad respect brother.after loosing my leg Christmas morning I never realized how much I took little things like being able to walk easily in woods meant. Seeing you do this gives me hope and the kick in ass I need to get out and try to get back to normal again as much as possible. Keep going brother your doing so much more than you'll ever know.

Your a inspiration! Feels like we're doing it with you.To help with your anxiety try the following which helps with the vague nerve that runs from brain to most of body. Smile, hum a favorite tune and breath deeply through nose. Just watch for those rocks!
Hey Rob, got excited when I saw you posted another video. The scenery is just beautiful. I'm so glad you took the time to rest before starting out again. Don't ever feel like you need to rush to get things done, just do whatever is comfortable to you. Remember, you make the rules. I don't know you..only from your videos but I am really proud of you. We have seen you come from depressed and freezing in the big city to now gaining control over your own life one small step at a time. Remember your life is not the destination but the journey and now you are really living! Enjoy every moment because life is short, and peace and happiness is priceless!

I always start to feel clumsy after hiking for hours . Think the muscle fatigue causes it. Great videos. Glad you are finally doin it.
I have a couple of times. 90 degrees today and mostly uphill. Definitely felt weak most of the day.

FL is under a horrible heat wave so do not get here to soon...100 to 113 real feel temps. That is north florida, central florida is worse

Why am I so fascinated by a guy walking to another state? I can't stop watching and marveling how you're actually walking that far for that long. I'd be dead in a week. I've been homeless dozens of times, but always in a vehicle. It must be extremely freeing to be able to pack up and go like that 🤘😎
just think, before modern life, the whole continent was like this. everywhere people went, the trails were this way. it was a paradise. it still is, in places.

Playground up until I was about 20 or so. Havent loved back there for 40 yrs. You are bringing back a bunch of memories. Used to be a restaurant on top of Blue Mtn. Palmerton was a polluted mess for years because of a zinc plant. Mtns are green again! Be safe and enjoy! Thanks for the videos and inspiration!!

im super busy today.. i got screwed over 2 times in the last 2 days as i expect with "Things" as they are now. so i will watch this tonight. hope you are staying hydrated & safe. be alert of 2 things heading south.
1. poweroutage.us rolling blacks on the map are becoming obvious. so know stores areas towns may be in the dark not just the 30 minutes supposed to be.
2. temperatures are NOT accruate on the weather maps. its not been 90° to 91° in FL its running 95° 99° i have 3 thermometers 2 home one on the van. so know that too.
i hope letting you know gives you advance warning to get needed things ahead 🙏👍👍 be safe.

Yo Rob how you doing bud...I feel for you I been having a problem with my feet . I have tendencies in my feet and ankles . So I can relate .I love to hike and with my ankles like this I can't move . But hope you can do some night videos ..

Before you know it you will be at the end and say to yourself I did it. I am surprised with all those that hike that trail the trail isn't wider. Seems it should be. Stay safe and listen to your body and your intuition. They both will guide you and protect you.

Yes take the Ride when you can it's if it's just one town now in again and I know the animal's will be waiting on you to video them. And it will help save that bad leg . I know when you in pain you can't walk much on it. I broke my hip and pelvic on right side it just got better now my Left hip and pelvic but this time I can't get around much I tore something else i us walker been 3weeks not much better.love Reading your comments even talked to some of the people. Man you are really doing great! That’s really smart to take breaks like you are doing. Try to ice your knee when ever you can. 15 min at a time 20 minutes is even better. If you can ice it a few times during a stop it will really help. Plus you can elevate it too if you don’t have any ice. If you can do both you’re golden. Trust me I have had 5 knee surgeries and I am a former competitive swimmer so I have spent a lot of time in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Rooms.
Yeah I’m not trying to get stuck hurt somewhere again. My knee is good now. Onto the next pain!

This comment has been on my mind since I made it. I don't really worry about much, but I certainly do over think things. That, combined with a habit of procrastinating, it can take a while to get rolling. 🤣
Falling is so hard on the body the older we get. June 3rd I went to pull my one Saint back and my feet slipped under me. Smashed my head and neck on their metal water bowl. After hours at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, I didn’t break anything thank god 🙏🏻 but they found 4 other things wrong when they did the full body catscan not related to the fall. I give you so much credit for doing this journey. You’re doing a great job, but stay away from the falls. lol stay safe and soon you will be out of the rocky Pa. mountains. ❤️ day by day, slow and steady.

What do you eat on the trail? Does it vary if you're just leaving a town with a grocery store? Or, do you stick to the same stuff? It helps to imagine what we might eat when we go out on an adventure.
I showed what I eat before, it isn’t really much more than that other than fast food when possible. Burgers, subs, candy. I eat mostly unhealthy stuff because there’s a lot to burn off all day.

You're doing an awesome job with the videos, Rob! No need to stress about it. I thank you for bringing me along. Was a longtime dream of mine. I've only done some section hiking, 2 or 3 nights at a time. I'm glad you rested that knee. Don't forget to make use of every water source you can for a nice cold dip! Put a cool, wet rag on your head.

Shelters are nice once in a while. I prefer to go off trail and camp alone when I'm out there

Yeah they’re crazy! And never stops. I take the bypass trails around rock climbs when I can. And I’m around.
