  • Hey guys! got my fusion 360 smart up today and right away I notice an issue. the head speeds don't seem correct even though its set up per the manual. i have tried calibrating the esc to the controller and factory resetting but normal mode is barely enough to get it off the ground! if anyone ahs run into this issue please help me!

    Your esc might need calibration

Hello do you mind sharing what you did to set the heli up to get it to fly properly. Mine current setup with my DX9 will not get off the ground without wanting to tilt side ways. Any suggestion will help. Thanks

I would go to forward programming to start and reset the flybarless and on a level surface calibrate the gyro. As long as the mechanical setup is correct the calibration should fix the take off issues

      Is your swash level?

@@scotmash1 yes when the blade is not spinning and even still level when I increased the collective pitch with the motor disconnected, however, when I connect the motor and try taking off, it automatically start tilting to one side. But I have done the reset and recalibration and it now takes off normally. Thanks for the advice.

Dumb question, have you tried other packs? Higher "C" rating packs?

Yes issue was resolved in a esc setup issue

@@FloridaRC_Adventures same issue on my maiden flight.
What ESC issue did you fix?
Effortless 3D flight by the way, very nice!

@@tg1740 recalibrated the esc took a few calls to horizon to figure it out.

What u need to do to get the maximum output on the esc is first set the throttle curves in normal mode from 0 25 50 100 then go ahead and proceed to forward programming menu select (set up ) go to throttle now you will see offset factory settings have off sets already programmed to limit head speed stock for beginners while in the throttle menu turn off hold and in normal mode, stunt 1, and stunt 2 set the offset to zero. So now unplug the heli set transmitter throttle to maximum output connect the heli you will hear two close beeps bring the throttle down to 0 and you're done now enjoy the high head speed you might have to tune the pid on roll and pitch for idle up 2
