- This is this engine's first start in who knows how long. it has lapped valves, a cleaned up carb, new rings, HOT mag, freshly adjusted bearings, and a freshly un-restored paint job. Just need to get a proper gas tank on it and run it for a while to bed those rings in.
I have the same engine, working on getting a fuel tank, getting the timeing correct and can't wait to get it going. I have waited my whole lifr to get one of these engine. Now I won't have to go to the county fair to her the magic.

Adjust the carb. It's 4 stroking to rich. I have a 1-1/2; a 2 a3 and a 6. They are good engines. I'm with you I could watch and listen to the old engins all day!!!!!
I Love it! We have the same Z model. If you ever need a pulley for it, We have an extra one with the original bolts that we would let go.
How much do you want for the pulley?

thanks for watching! it actually doesn't take very much at all to turn it over. it also helps if you bleed off a little compression by pushing open the intake valve before trying to crank it past TDC.

Keep an eye out for some more videos of my 4 1/2HP United. i just bought a custom gas tank for it which i will install soon. that should get it to running condition, so i should have some exciting updates soon. also take a look at my 2 HP Stover engine videos, i did not restore it but i repaired and refurbished it and it's quite a nice running engine now.
