I'm pretty sure that what's happening at 5:27 is a result of the computer switching between the integrated GPU that's in the i7-8750H and the GTX 1070. It's because it by default it uses that integrated graphics in order so save battery when it's not connected to the outlet. The feature is called Nvidia Optimus. So yeah it's gonna hang/crash for a second when switch it to a different graphics card while it's in the middle of editing video. Your pulling out part of the computation process in while it's displaying all the graphics on your screen and windows. It's like trying to change a piece of piping on your sink while the water is running through it and expecting it to continue functioning normally. When you pull the piece water is gonna spray everywhere and your sink definitely isn't going to work until gap is closed. That's why plumbers turn the water off when they work on things like that. The same basic principal applies to your 2 video cards. Hope this helps.
Hey, when you plugged in the charger, you clicked on the battery icon saying that it was on max settings but it was showing “battery saver”. Maybe the Gigabyte power management overrides that but you may want to try it again with that option as “max performance” instead of “battery saver”
The key benefit of this laptop is that it's about 8x faster than the latest Macbook Pro 15" i9 / i7 in Rendering 4K video from Premiere CC. Premiere timeline is a running joke in the industry you need a 1080ti or Titan Setup for a lag free timeline but even then don't hold your breath!
There is no way my 4790K at 4.5GHZ 32GB RAM and GTX 1080 can playback 4K footage on the timeline that good unless I use Proxies😳 this is crazy performance a laptop man
Stuttering during playback is an annoyance, sure, but does it affect your final export? You are correct that playing Full Resolution with 4K footage on a 1080p screen doesn't make sense. I'd keep it at 1/4 anyway. You should try to edit 4K on my 4-year old dual-core i5 laptop. It suuuuucks.
One humble suggestion, your light with diffusion material in the back, you can add a $30 d-fuse foldable softbox, light will be better and will look better in your studio
The glitchy mouse behavior is from Nvidia Optimus I believe. It controls the switching behavior from the gpu to the integrated graphics. A lot of people have issues with it in some applications, Premier being one of them.
I do not know guys I'm really confused I do not know which of these two to buy if the Aero gigabyte or the Msi gs65 I like both but I do not know tell me please help I'll thank you
It isn't plugged in so is using 'nvidia optimus', i.e switching to your intel graphics to give you the 8 hours(-ish) of battery life. Not the best of tests for this reason.
Is your lid loose? Mine doesn't shut properly and while carrying the laptop the lid opens and wobbles and won't stay shut. Is that a defect or do you have the same issue?
Do you plan on returning the laptop? I just received mine and im having issues with performance and stuttering as well, im planning to do a fresh install if nothing works. But i also have some slight backlight issues,
Hi, I returned my aero 15x v8 the performance was really bad on battery the power plans were all messed up too. I couldn't get the cpu above about 2.5Ghz. My Aero 14 seems quicker. Such a shame.
Hey That1cameraguy! I hope you are having an amazing beginning of the week. I sent you a message the other day but did not get your respond. I have a Sony A6000 camera and use it to make my makeup tutorials. I am hoping that I can find a cord to connect to my computer for tethering purpose. Kindly help me with some recommendations as my videos are not that bring and crisp. I have all the appropriate lighting. Thanks so much for your help.
I have the aero 15x v8 as well and I have been experiencing double key entries and occasional screen lag/freeze seen at 5:19 . After performing a backlight bleed test I'm happy to say that it doesn't seem to be occurring for me. Update: After updating to the latest keyboard software the double entry seem to have stopped and the freezing as well has only happened twice so far and not any other time after.
You can find the laptop here: Aero 15x v8: geni.us/NhOLEOj (Amazon Affiliate)
HATE THE BARREL PLUG - Do you know of any charging adaptor to make it like a MagSafe? That would make it perf...

Bruno Guerreiro Are you referring to whats shown at 7:28? If so, the battery saver box is grey'd out. So is it in battery saver mode or not?
Change your msconfig settings for it to use all the cores by default it's set to 1 or 2 cores
First time seeing a tech review done in a hotel room. LOL
I like the way you put this video together. You changed it up, it's awesome.

so is this computer good for 4k video editing?
How good are the colours on the 1080p screen model....I mean is it good enough for photoshop or some digital illustrations?
You have it in Battery Saver mode. Go to the power settings in windows and fix it there, not just in the Gigabyte software.
How is this computer performing now for content creating now that it's been somee time??
How is mouse track pad performance?

It doesn't affect the export it's only the live preview

Wow, I’m really diggin’ your channel. How long has it been active? Hope to see more from you.
hows the battery life on the 1080p model on just normal use? (browsing, music etc)
What's the plastic or rubber keyboard cover you're using?
I sae that and wanted to know the exact same thing!
I would like to see more with the video editing. Maybe do a few exports. I also think your laptop was on battery saver mode.
Where did you get the keyboard cover
I saw this and wanted to know the exact same thing!

Is this also happening with other editing softwares? the lag
I haven't had any lag issues since. However, I've just been using it plugged in.
BaSick Yoooo what are you doing here??? Love your vids man!
Is your lid loose? Mine doesn't shut properly and while carrying the laptop the lid opens and wobbles and won't stay shut. Is that a defect or do you have the same issue?
forget premiere and get fcpx with mbp !
which hotel is that
How come you didn't get the headphones from beats??
Please make a 17 inch version!
Hows the trackpad? The one on my Aero 15w(7th gen) is terrible.
Try putting windows precision drivers (if you are talking about the trackpad experience when using it). Not talking about the physical feel.
Do you plan on returning the laptop? I just received mine and im having issues with performance and stuttering as well, im planning to do a fresh install if nothing works. But i also have some slight backlight issues,
Zyenaux aero 15 last gen had the same issue due to bloatware, after a fresh installation it works. Let us know the results
I just need to Code on a daily and Game the rest is none issue
How is the fan noise ?
It's audible when editing, but not too bad.
Of what Ive read it's a jet engine.
it is much worst then the v7, the thermal solution simply cannot handle the 8750h
Are you Dave Lee's brother?
Like how well balanced like thanos balanced Because if it is that's dope
You look like Dave's brother, nice review too.
Hi,

Such a shame.
Garry Weston try the gs65 it has more heat pipes and an extra fan mine stay around 3.8ghz with an undervolt too
Is it a 1070 max q or gtx 1070? Just curious
google would of told you in 2 second, you'e been waiting 6 months, dang! Max Q

Very interesting
Are you getting any keyboard chatter (double key presses) or backlight bleed?
I'm not noticing the keyboard chatter. I did a backlight bleed test and I'm seeing it on the corners.

$2400 laptop and backlight bleed
I think windows 10 needs to be patched first, maybe those short comings may get fixed.
that1computerguy
LOL, you never know.
Macbook Pro with final cut for mobile, desktop PC with Premiere. No other way to do it. Premiere sucks on mobile period.
OMG... Premiere is so crap!
egocentrico
