I tried it , didn't get the proper training I needed. Trainer just rushed me off to get carded at all 5 terminals. I was only with him for 2 weeks and he said I was ready when I wasn't. First day alone I domed out and got the ethanol blend wrong and I just quit out of frustration. Worse decision I made was leaving my flatbed job from that crappy company.
Damn man I hate that happened to you. It’s messed up he did you like that. 2 weeks definitely isn’t enough. Even after a 5 week training I still didn’t feel confident so I could only imagine only having 2 weeks under your belt. If it’s something you want to to do just try a different company. Once you actually get and understand what your doing it’s really a breeze man
I’m finishing training right now and everything you’re saying was similar to what I experienced. My trainer is literally a beast and now I got it. And start by my self next week 💪🏾
Yesiirrrrr. You gone be aite bro. 😎
Getting my first CDL job a month out of trucking school. Going to be a great learning experience. Honestly scared cause I’ll be learning how to operate 8 different trucks along with learning how to shift an 18 speed according to the hiring manager. Appreciate your videos and the positivity. Guess we’re all nervous at one point.
Congrats on that bro! & yeah man we all gotta start somewhere!
Gravity drops are butter I have to do pump offs into 10k tanks most of my loads
Yeah gravity drops are a breeze
I'm at work now sitting next to my truck as we speak
Ive been thinking about becoming a tanker driver, ive heard thats where the real money is at. Im OTR dry van right now, about 4 months in, and I wanna be doing this for at least a year; does my time driving dry van count as qualification to get a better tanker company off rip, or is that in its own category where id be starting from scratch?
@@YoungVillaincxv You’ll be starting from scratch but my suggestion would be to aim high and then work your way down. Next time you run into a fuel hauler in your area ask him what the best companies are and start there
@@Youngtruckerdee thanks man, it's definitely the step I wanna take as a driver (mostly because I'm an ambitious guy lol). I love your videos homie, and you should check out the music I make!
How many stops do you normally have and what’s you normal start and finish time?
Anywhere between 3-6 stops a day usually takes 10-12 hours
Does it pay good ? Imma start with cypress truck line soon then imma go with tanker , how much they start with tanker?
Yeah tanker gets you 80k+ depending on company and how much you work
