I personaly think the rats appeared after the dark wraiths were banished(after the fall of whole lordran) by scavenging humanity from the countless corpses bit by bit just as we do. We are basically picking up what is left from once a land full of life. Depressing, isn't it?
My reason to give humanity to Quelaag's sister at first was to save Solaire... but then after hearing her talk... i just wanted to help ease her pain :T
She's the ONE npc who i can't kill...my morals literally prevent my finger from pressing the r1 button even when i know the fire keeper soul is going to help me alot in NG+. She's just...so sweet and tragic and everything u do just makes her life worse (killing her sister, killing one of her closest servants, killing her brother, killing her mother, killing her other sister in the ruins...). God damn it FromSoft...
Wish Solaire would go with me and pay a visit to the Fair Lady. I just hope he doesn't go try kill her but Solaire is a bro, he wouldn't do that. Like he said, Jolly cooperation I guess in a way, Fair Lady involuntarily helped you save your best friend. I always considered Solaire as such.
+CidGuerreiro1234 Omg that exchange of comments was beautiful. Take a +1 on both comments. Praise the sun, so great, 10 out of 10, would linkin park again
I keep getting invaded by a hacker who calls himself Sans that has two Uchigatanas whom my Greatsword of Artorias can't even leave a scratch on the guy and the bleed effect on his weapon completely ignores my shield.
my idea is that kirk fell in love with the fair lady and thought that there was a cure to reverse her blindness and spider form. so he tried to collect humanities thinking that they are the cure he has been looking for, but soon found out that there is no cure for his love and killed him self.
Karasu Actually it's stated somewhere that Velka achieved Godhood by herself which doesn't really match that well of a being just being a god since the dawn of time. About Flann we don't know anything.
Just because one can ascend to Godhood it doesn't mean the person or being is not a God. I'd classify as a God a being that is immortal and doesn't exactly have a definitive form. We don't even know if Velka is actually the Crow/Raven that carries the Chosen Undead. The Lords could be killed, even in their prime, but we don't know if Velka can.
Well if you think about it, that’s just all gods in a way. Some where born with power and others gained powered (outside of dark souls) there just powerful beings with great power but can still be killed. Though their gods, there’re not unlikable
I gave The Fair Lady Humanity because she brought suffering on herself to help those who inhabited blighttown. She's one of the selfless people of Dark Souls and that I believe is worthy to reduce her suffering with Humanity.

I think that Kirk might have been in love with Queelag's sister before she became a spider from the waist down. Whne he saw her turn into what she is now it kind of destroyed his mind, seeing the love of his life suffer like that he tried to ease her pain any way he could, being invading people and taking their humanity.
Liked for interesting idea :b , but he would have to be pretty damn old by human standard, he is undead of course(right!?) but even then pretty old , nice idea though, I just think he might have fallen for her in her current state(if that be the case) :)
+Bryan Merrill Prove it. Just because the sun bro said so? He also put a bug on his head and tries to kill you. Doesn't seem like the most reliable source.
subseven You meet long-dead heroes throughout the game and warp between different areas of the world and different periods of history (Sen's Fortress anyone?) quite frequently and very easily. In addition, the flow of time prevents undead from working together easily without the aid of items like soapstone and eye orbs. Otherwise, Dark Souls would be more like a MMORPG.
As you say, the Dark Soul has been split, thousands of times, that is humanity. You then ask why Kaathe would teach the art of lifedrain, well it seems that if the dark wraiths donate their gained humanity to Kaathe, then he is gathering/combining/reassembling the dark lord soul, most probably to empower the new dark lord.
"Why would you, as the player, want to give the Fair Lady, your hard-earned humanity?" So...what you're saying is...Kirk wanted to save Solaire? Kirk is a sunbro! :D!
Maybe Kirk is somewhat of a mythical figure like medusa. If you know the story about medusa, she was cursed by the gods so no man would ever love her again and her gaze would turn men into stone. My guess is that Kirk is also an outcast or cursed being. That he may or may not have been on honourable knight once, but was cast out for turning into a traitorous darkwraith and he now sympathises with the mutated beings of Lost Izalith and the Demon Ruins. This might explain why he invades just before the cursed basilisk enemies in the Depths. Also his armor is covered in spikes so he will never be able to safely touch anyone else ever again.
Idiot, she's quite LITERALLY hot. *The Witch of Izalith and her daughters of Chaos weaved great firestorms* Boy if that ain't hot I don't know WHAT is.

Silver Mont I killed Knight Solaire once... His phantom "accidentally" shot me with a Sunlight Spear, so i shot him with death and a nearly broken drake sword. I'm a bad person. Was it because i was a thief class? Why did he shoot me?
Maybe Kirk is in love with the queen but she was turned into a demon or monster and Kirk was gonna turn her back to her human form by giving other's people humanity.

Quelana is the Pyromancy trainer - she's the sister of Quelaag and the Fair Lady / White Spider. IIRC she's only referred to as "Quelaag's sister" in-game. Some fans call her "Quelaan" too.
Plain and simple, Kirk was the lover of Quelaag's sister, he invades people to claim humanity for her to ease her suffering. After all, his 'evil' side is just him going to extremes to help his lover. And Kaathe may want the Age of Dark because he knows he can achieve some form of power in the new age, more so than Frampt. And about the Dragons returning, the Humans would be able to defeat them because they were able to defeat the Gods, whilst there are creatures like Manus which are a result of humanity, something more powerful than any Lord soul. Hence why Gwyn feared the Dark Soul.
Many of the inhabitants of Blight Town look kindly on her for easing their blight puss afflictions... so it could be the same with Kirk, and he wants to repay her.
I'm hoping that you remake some of your old videos soon. Especially on Kirk, considering he's in dark souls 3. You could also mention his lady and how she's dead.
My first invader? Gravelord greatsword caster that one-shot me with the spell and did the "Can't use item" shrug thing. Dunno if he ever got visited by the darkmoon blades. Ah well. On that topic, I'm getting invaded by a lot of giant dads lately. I just summon other players through soap stones for them to kill, do gestures and throw "VERY GOOD!" to gain their trust, then when they're not looking, cast undead rapport and use channelers trident on my new hollow buddy. you can imagine how that goes.
MrSuvvri Same here, the servers recently are being VERY glitchy. Apparently very few - if anyone - has connection to online. Which really bites since online is a huge part of Dark Souls.
***** yeah so sad :( sometimes i get to see fog wall in the DLC township area but then nothing happens and it just dissapears. Damn need help with kalameet tho
could also make the simple argument that they had some feelings for each other. Kirk was a knight who loved her lady and did anything to keep her alive. sure he attacks player, but if that death would make difference, I would kill as well. yeah I do believe he must be pretty ugly now under that armor, also could be that he wears the armor because he is shamed of his appearance and doesnt want her lady seeing him. he also doesnt stop talking to you with asking that if u might be willing to give humanity, he doesnt want to risk dying because than his lady would die. also I think his armor looks like that because it is symbol of his appearance and he doesnt want anyone close to him, also he want to make his enemies fear him. tho this love might be just his love to her but no less he wants to do everything in his power to fill his mission.
Well, I assume those were pity and the "power hunger" - the reasons why Kirk preferred to serve Fair Lady in the first place. Besides, Elizabeth calls Manus a "primeval human". If we take the word "primeval" as "primordial" or "first", we can assume then that Manus IS the Furtive Pygmy. And if Kirk somehow managed to find out what happened to humans of Oolacile (Kaathe himself could tell him, or any other way, really), then we can, again, assume that Kirk just didn't want to be human anymore, and serving the Fair Lady was the best thing he could do now. P.S. Sorry for my bad English, if that even matters.
It also would add to the whole pattern of the game, basically you kill every lord and their followers. Only pygmy was missing and not because he was forgotten but due to developement deadlines, they added him in the dlc and it kind of makes sense that you kill every lord. I think forgotten means that he is lost back in time and space.
Kaathe wants to gather all the specks of Humanity together so they can recombine into the Dark Soul and bring about an Age of Dark, but why? Maybe an Age of Dark would be more akin to what the world was before there was Fire...
+Captain Kdynce Well I think its an interesting theory that Kaathe, as a descendant of the dragons, only cares about revenge against the gods and is using humans/humanity/the dark souls just as a means for his goal. I would seem logical when you consider that he used the greedy and vile nature of humans to create manus and spread the abyss, even if that meant the destruction of oolaice and a lot of death, despair and abomination. But thankfully Dark Souls doesnt really paint the cliche picture of good/ the light against evil associated with the dark in my opinion. The Intro shows that the gods, associated with the light/fire, annihilated the dragons for reasons like greed, hunger for power, jealously (Seath) or simply because they could while the dragons apparently didnt to anything but exist. Then they create their rule trough the Age of Fire and sacrifice/ do everything trying to preserve it and their power, instead of accepting the natural cycle of light and dark. They create demons (Izalith), bring the undead curse upon humanity (possibly Gwyns kindling) and overall chaos to their realm etc. In this context you could see an Age of Dark as the only form of true/natural progress that could be benefital for the world (Since Darkness can also be associated with peace and unification), while the constant rekindling of the fire just means an artifical prolonging of an age fueled by chaos/war and suffering. Personally I think this is an interesting mindset for both Dark Souls 1 and the new Dark Souls 3 and a very unique approach in fictional storytelling (by questioning our understanding of a world thats splits actions and circumstances in good/evil instead of seeing everything as an appropriate part of a whole/ a cycle).
I agree with the premise of the fair lady gaining Kirk's respect by easing the curse of his fellow swamp dwellers as well as that Kirk abandoned Kath's covenant upon realizing his alterior motives because I also theorize that he seeks to supply the fair lady with humanity so that her powers (as a daughter of chaos) would be the key to stopping the resurgence of the dragons as firestorms brewed by the witches played a role in defeating the dragons in the first place. Perhaps Kirk saw robbing the few humans of their humanity was necessary to save the masses of his human kind from themselves as they became the pawns of the serpents and dragons in their plot to wipe out human kind and regain dominance over all.
I don't imagine a return of dragons, instead it would probably be if the age of man happened, and the serpents are related to dragons, but the serpents helped man, then in a way the serpents can gain revenge for the dragons by having man kill the lords.
Here's my theory. It is said that the fair princess had saved the inhabitants of blight town through eating the blight puss. Maybe Kirk was a native of Blight Town and simply wanted to pay her back for saving his home, suo he became a dark wraith, stole humanity and gave it to the the fair lady.
perhaps kirk's goal in the bed of chaos was to give the soul of chaos to the fair lady, since while humanity does help her, it is never enough. perhaps he thought giving her the original soul of chaos he could truely help her. without the soul of chaos he couldnt open the final door and died by his fair lady
The real fun thing about Dark Souls is it's all about change. Either the changing of an era, or a changing of the guard. Are you a wildfire roaring through the land so that new things may grow, or are you a continent ramming into another, changing the very landscape?
I believe he has some cracked red eye orbs, and each is used to invade you, and nets him -1 humanity and -1 orb, which eventually leads to a lack of both, and his death.
I always thought Gan Ning was the best character, He's so badass he has to attach bells to his waist so people know he's coming, he's also a pirate. Gan Ning hands down !!
I think kirk is pure evil and the reason why we found his body near the fair lady is because he wanted to drain her humanity just as lautrec did with the other fire keeper
Me personally I think he's a misunderstood guy with a bad past of being a murderer or at least being accused of murder who's just trying to help the fair lady and he didn't have any humanity and didn't know how to get it or he ran out which could be why he invaded just my speculation
Somewhat unrelated, but have you ever played Dragon's Dogma? That actually had a similar sort of cycle involving god, man and a dragon. It was also my GOTY 2012!
A PC mod for the brass armour. I've never played Demon's Souls, unfortunately, but if I did, I would be using Garl's armour for sure! I have a thing for silver armour (as well as green+gold armour)
I don't think Kaathe is spreading the abyss for the sake of dragons. Listen to his dialogue. I know he lies but he cannot hide his enthusiasm and his passion. He's a fanatic of the abyss, he actually think that the dark is the world full realized, a perfect yet horruble state of existance. And remember, Dragons are not the lords of Dark. I even doubt they ca exist in Dark. Dark is humanity, only humanity can exist in Dark. And the dragons are much more like the lords of emptyness, of nothing, like in the buddhism philosophy. They are not even alive, considering life itself like a form of weakness, they are more similiar to forces of nature.
I'm with this guy. I don't know what the primordials are; perhaps they're some sort of dragon-twisted-by-darkness. Regardless, I strongly believe they are at home in the dark and think of the darkness as their territory and their right. Naturally, these master manipulators put their mind(s?) to work to expand their domain. Thus both of the abyss incidents instigated by serpents. And the whole Dark Lord thing? I think the serpents see the Dark Lord as nothing more than a puppet leader to rule over the humans for them, as the primordials are all too aware of the humans' hidden potential and the threat they pose, since it was a primordial(Frampt or Kaathe, take your pick) that manipulated a human into slaying the Lords. Speaking of lying serpents, want to hear the biggest lie told in Dark Souls? "The truth I shall share *without sentiment.*" BULLSHIT
My two cents is that they never managed to properly flesh out the Chaos Servant covenant which Kirk was originally a member of and they had to change his backstory and proneness to invade the player into Darkwraiths to actually make some sense.
"To her, the countless eggs which appeared were cradles for each tiny humanity." This is the quote from the Firekeeper Soul she drops. It implies that the eggs are vessels for the humanity. Part of her dialogue is "Sister… It hurts… the eggs have gone still… I fear it may be too late… I'm so sorry, dear sister." The fact that Kirk was in the room with the Fair Lady and that he has the ability to give her souls and take souls from people also has implications that maybe he was helping her fill the eggs with humanity? The previous quote tells us that the eggs are dying, which could be a result of Kirk not bringing her the humanity he would have received from killing you. It could possibly be that he was trying to help her, but the only way to do it is to kill other people and collect their humanities.
hes in ashe lake. there is a large tree in blight town which you can enter by walking up a branch that dips down into the swamp. This branch leads you up into a little room inside the tree which has two illusory walls and behind them is the zone "the great hollow" and all the way at the bottom of the great hollow is ashe lake.
It is "below" the world. You see it as you pass by Leeroy's invasion in Tomb of the Giants... Pass through the Great Hollow, and you will find Ash Lake. Other optional areas are the Painted World of Ariamis (there's a boss), and the Asylum, if you decide to go back.
This is a very informative video about Dark Souls lore, but it's a bad video. You're titled it: Kirk, however you wander off that topic and rant about things completely unrelated. If you want to improve on these videos, try to stay more on topic.
That's a very good point! Maybe he distracted Kaathe and then stole all his cracked red eye orbs and ran off with them in a sack and joined the Chaos Covenant (but how did he get past Quelaag? Or did he kill her in his world?) to help out the Egg Princess?
About this artorias and all of them are big bigger then humans i think they and all Knights got parts of gwyns soul thats why they are this big and as always awesome Video silvermont
Making a link from this to DS 2 which is seems to be a sequel is really interesting. What we saw of Drangleic untli this point is mostly Drakes/Dragons and undead (humans). Also, both humans (dying from war, undead curse and dragon worshippers?!) and giants(giants crossing the sea --> what are they running from?) don't seem to be doing well . Are the dragons (and serpents!) taking back over again. The downfall of the gods (giants) came with the undead curse and the dark lord (chosen undead!) venturing to lordran and killing the dragons biggest enemies. Now with the flame dying the'd even be able to rid themselves of the undead. Maybe their behind the undead curse. It seems so profitable for them.
Lol "Shift the power of balance". You silly goose. These are good man, cant wait for Dark Souls 2 to come out on PC so i can watch the lore for that without spoilers.
For real. Have you heard the 'hydra' theory? That they all share the same body etc? I don't think that's the case, but it would be very freaky if true. I wonder what the deal is with those serpents anyway - are they burrowing through the 'roots' of the world, to pop up in all these places? Almost like they are dragons who lost their wings and turned to worms to escape and survive.
To be honest, I probably could spend 20 minutes talking about the lore implications behind kicking. I have become exceedingly proficient in the arts of both rambling and waffling.
guess nobody ever mentioned mentioned to kirk or the darkwraiths that rats have lots of humanity.
I personaly think the rats appeared after the dark wraiths were banished(after the fall of whole lordran) by scavenging humanity from the countless corpses bit by bit just as we do. We are basically picking up what is left from once a land full of life. Depressing, isn't it?

Nobody mentioned to Kirk that they could easily dupe humanity.
+Garett Crook u can just use a parry or a weapon that takes a long time to hit like a great sword
+qsqua Maybe that's why he's there, get some farming done.
he cant kill dark wraiths
My reason to give humanity to Quelaag's sister at first was to save Solaire... but then after hearing her talk... i just wanted to help ease her pain :T

Praise it.

My first invasion was by a Giant Dad in Parish
it was not fun
+Muscovy Ouch
Full Havel's, Parish aswell... wasnt fun either...
Your name is perfect.
I keep getting invaded by a hacker who calls himself Sans that has two Uchigatanas whom my Greatsword of Artorias can't even leave a scratch on the guy and the bleed effect on his weapon completely ignores my shield.
That's why In the remaster I made a giant dad Slayer. nothing better than a 1 shot on them cocky douches
When Kirk invaded me in the demon ruins i turned around to see him backstep off the cliff and he died immediately
***** Ouch
What a brave hero.
friendlyelites I wandered if that had happened to anyone as NPCs on ledges often fall off lol.
probably that ur character eyes were so scary he said NOPE then back step off the cliff
my idea is that kirk fell in love with the fair lady and thought that there was a cure to reverse her blindness and spider form. so he tried to collect humanities thinking that they are the cure he has been looking for, but soon found out that there is no cure for his love and killed him self.
His corpse is found in Dark Souls 3 infront of Rosaria
But maybe the dark soul would cure it. Time to hunt the furtive pygmy, possibly patches 😂.
Simp
The most awesome thing about Kirk is that he's pulling a fast one on KAATHE by masquerading as a Darkwraith when he's really a Chaos Servant.
mjuang84 Yeah, because screw that toothy serpent. He has the right idea, does Kirk.
Dark Souls suggested that the gods are not gods but rather beings who became powerful through the lord souls.
Yes, the ones in Lordran. Although there are Gods, such as Velka and Flann.

yeah, nice story but she's just half spide 😂
And half not, wink wink...
Opposite for me, I killed her for an easy 5 humanity. After unlocking the shortcut to save solaire, of course
"hard earned humanity"........*hides cheat engine*........
hellball5 Uh oh!
+Silver Mont its no shame to use cheat engine. as long as you have played newgame plus you have sufferd enough and can have a little fun
+Silver Mont who? are the Gods ?? can you make a video on them

"Keep Calm and give humanity to the fair lady".
My favorite covanant. Not only the best waifu. But serious now. Most of the people were happy to know there is a way to save a solaire.
+Joseph Oliveira. Even after I gathered enough to save solaire I still give some humanity to the sick spider lady from time to time.
zachary seiders Me too, long life to the fair lady !
+Joseph Oliveira I kill her for that sweet sweet soul of hers after I get that dank chaos fireball

Joseph Oliveira and me who seeks dark

The really creepy part is that the 'Fair Lady' is a firekeeper, and is thus tied to the bonfire/entropy story bits.
"Why would you, as the player, want to give the Fair Lady, your hard-earned humanity?"
So...what you're saying is...Kirk wanted to save Solaire? Kirk is a sunbro! :D!

I helped Fair Lady because she's hot. Hell, I would've gladly handed humanity over to Chaos Queen if she hadn't attacked.
Blasphemy! Women that radiant cannot and are not impure.
Smae.
Tyr Barghest hot? HOT??? She's a fucking spider person! That's not fucking hot
Idiot, she's quite LITERALLY hot.
*The Witch of Izalith and her daughters of Chaos weaved great firestorms*
Boy if that ain't hot I don't know WHAT is.
You would give her humanity just for being hot? Ugh
I just noticed that the twin humanities are in the shape of a heart and that makes one of the most tragic and one of the most evil characters so freaking adorable.
Grrr...I hate being in the middle of it all...I only killed Kirk cause he attacked me. I didn't kill anyone who didn't mean harm.
Except Patches. Screw him.
Ultima Heartless Even Patches generally doesn't mean harm, he's just a jackass! Unless you're a cleric.
Silver Mont .> Well...My knife didn't mean harm to his back...There was a mosquito...*Runs*
Silver Mont I killed Knight Solaire once... His phantom "accidentally" shot me with a Sunlight Spear, so i shot him with death and a nearly broken drake sword. I'm a bad person. Was it because i was a thief class? Why did he shoot me?
vader1361 The phantom? Weird, there's no friendly fire so I'm not sure what happened to you there!
Ultima Heartless fuck patches never gave him a chance
After listening to this lore every time i play dark souls i can't help but feel bad for all the pain and suffering of those in the land of Lordran..
6:32 To save solaire of course!
Maybe Kirk is in love with the queen but she was turned into a demon or monster and Kirk was gonna turn her back to her human form by giving other's people humanity.
+Sail Hatan maybe kirk didn't know that
I dont think thats how humanity works man. It reverses There dead body, if you were turned into a monster and you used humanity im pretty sure there health would just replenish thats it.
6:33 To save Soliare
You destroy Kirk so hard that he lost his legs!
I love how the twin humanities that Kirk is giving to Quelana looks like a heart..
Not many people notice that!
She IS Quelana right? I'm confused about this..
Quelana is the Pyromancy trainer - she's the sister of Quelaag and the Fair Lady / White Spider. IIRC she's only referred to as "Quelaag's sister" in-game. Some fans call her "Quelaan" too.

im pretty sure their is a fanfic with you and sif.
I think Kirk was in love with the Fair Lady, and wanted to try his best to help her.

Silver Mont Nice! Can't wait to listen to more Soulsborne videos.
yuss. demon's souls lore. the thing everyone ignores.
I love how Silver Mont sounds genuinely curious about the reason a player wants to help the Fair Lady, just to stay in-character and lore friendly.
+darkfury45 you lucky i cant finy anyone to play with or against :(
MrSuvvri Same here, the servers recently are being VERY glitchy. Apparently very few - if anyone - has connection to online. Which really bites since online is a huge part of Dark Souls.
*****
yeah so sad :( sometimes i get to see fog wall in the DLC township area but then nothing happens and it just dissapears. Damn need help with kalameet tho
MrSuvvri Greatshield buddy, greatshield's the way to go.
*****
too bad im playing dex with like 14 str
--
and now i accidently started NG+. I forgot that i cant start it on the bonfire like in ds2 lol.
Kaathe to the left of me,
Frampt to the right, here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you
05:13 Queelag is so beauty
could also make the simple argument that they had some feelings for each other.
Kirk has always been one of the most mysterious characters for me! He's just so apparently evil that it makes me curious, you know?
I gave her humanity to learn new powerful pyromancies.
That Image at the beginning is really adorable...
Personally I think this is an interesting mindset for both Dark Souls 1 and the new Dark Souls 3 and a very unique approach in fictional storytelling (by questioning our understanding of a world thats splits actions and circumstances in good/evil instead of seeing everything as an appropriate part of a whole/ a cycle).
thd age of dark i believe
is the humans ruling themselves and not the kings/lords of cinders
@@GudHunterYT96 so the Age of Dark is real life?
4:16 Im sorry but what chest piece is he wearing in this scene It looks like a modded silver Giant Set but im not sure :V
You're close! It's brass set, with edited textures. I wanted it to be silvery.
I heard Velka had a covenant that was cut. Do you have a video on Velka/the pardoners?
HokoAoi I have a video on Oswald that talks a lot about Velka, yeah
I'll take a look, don't remember that one.
You ask why I help the fair lady? I feel for her, simple as that.
What if kirk has something in common with her? That the armor might represent something about kirk like being trapped.
I don't imagine a return of dragons, instead it would probably be if the age of man happened, and the serpents are related to dragons, but the serpents helped man, then in a way the serpents can gain revenge for the dragons by having man kill the lords.
+Nyghtking
Wait? is the dark actually a good thing though? remember that the darkness can actually deform humans into monsters.
Fake Priest
Eh, maybe but that was because they said "Humanity run amok."
kirk actually saved my life from another player, believe it or not.
For me, it was saving Solaire.
Excuse some of the errors,I've been derping bad lately.
Kirk 100% kills himself because he lost to you so many times :^)
If you homeward bone, you just appear right back next to the bonfire, as far as I can recall.
Well time to call the dragonborn
So he can flail ineffectually at them?
*****
that's not saying much though.. I didn't last 5 mins past the intro boss xD a day in Lordran is quite a feat lol
perhaps kirk's goal in the bed of chaos was to give the soul of chaos to the fair lady, since while humanity does help her, it is never enough. perhaps he thought giving her the original soul of chaos he could truely help her. without the soul of chaos he couldnt open the final door and died by his fair lady
It's a shame we don't have a chat with him he would be a good conversatilist but the POINT is that he would be a THORN in my side
I'm not sorry
The real fun thing about Dark Souls is it's all about change. Either the changing of an era, or a changing of the guard. Are you a wildfire roaring through the land so that new things may grow, or are you a continent ramming into another, changing the very landscape?
I think you meet kirk deeper and deeper because he's trying to avoid you, would you want to invade someone who could possibly kill you every time? xD
Pfft... in that case, he should've gone up to the Undead Burg to invade new players!
Ahaha true, but maybe he wanted to stay in the demon ruins xD, I mean he doesn't have the lordvessel, he may have run out of moss too owo
I believe he has some cracked red eye orbs, and each is used to invade you, and nets him -1 humanity and -1 orb, which eventually leads to a lack of both, and his death.
In ds3 there's a lot of kirks they're called gankers
I feel like gankers have been a thing since at least the dawn of history, sadly
Oh man, now we know the humans did aid gwyn against dragons with ringed city.
I think humans will kick everyone's butt! Let the dragons come!
Is that Zhang Liao from ROT3K? In your icon, thingy.
Silver Mont
Yea! ^^
Neat. He's been my fave since DW3!
He and Ma Chao, both are my favorite characters in the entire franchise! I can't forget Xiahou Dun as well.
I always thought Gan Ning was the best character, He's so badass he has to attach bells to his waist so people know he's coming, he's also a pirate. Gan Ning hands down !!
Re-textured Brass Set. Silver Mont needed some silver armour!
Dark souls is about Yulia.
YAS
I'll include that link in the video description!
Do the sisters of chaos
I wonder if it grows back?
is it true that kirk has a "monster fetish" thing, i heard that on another video ....
There's no way of knowing, honestly. It's up to you, to decide!
...well he is giving humanity to a ... chaos sister or some kind of spider lady
and why at the start do the twin humanitys look like a heart? maybe that's just me
AnarchyGost & LightAngel
That was entirely intentional!
kirk want to fucks spider girl confirm, i though i would never have to say that in my life but when your a game and like a lot of other things well...
really like you idea of stone, scissor, paper
I think kirk is pure evil and the reason why we found his body near the fair lady is because he wanted to drain her humanity just as lautrec did with the other fire keeper
+WillSmith ReNiggaAlenko But the Radio interview with the Devs said the opposite.
+DIEGhostfish oh does it?
WillSmith ReNiggaAlenko he tried to save her
the cycle that you said in the end that could be the resin that the dragons ruled before Gwen
Me personally I think he's a misunderstood guy with a bad past of being a murderer or at least being accused of murder who's just trying to help the fair lady and he didn't have any humanity and didn't know how to get it or he ran out which could be why he invaded just my speculation
I wasn't really considering invasions murdering more like challenging to a duel
He tries to murder you and everyone else that has humanities for The Fair lady.
Something that I also do with a shit ton of Red Eye Orbs.
he's a chaos servant who tricked kaathe into giving him a red eye orb and has been gathering humanity to try and save Quelaan
***** xD
Somewhat unrelated, but have you ever played Dragon's Dogma? That actually had a similar sort of cycle involving god, man and a dragon. It was also my GOTY 2012!
Kaathe against humanity
sugarsmell Lol
A PC mod for the brass armour. I've never played Demon's Souls, unfortunately, but if I did, I would be using Garl's armour for sure! I have a thing for silver armour (as well as green+gold armour)
We shift the power of balance? Or did you mean we shift the balance of power?
+Saftiggi Probably the latter but I got brain problems
what is the armour he's wearing at 4:10? I've never seen it beofre
It's the brass armour but with a different texture mod.
"The truth I shall share *without sentiment.*"
BULLSHIT
My two cents is that they never managed to properly flesh out the Chaos Servant covenant which Kirk was originally a member of and they had to change his backstory and proneness to invade the player into Darkwraiths to actually make some sense.
Kirk is Metallica's lead guitarist
Nice
Sam Fisher how badass would he be in a metal band?!?
The Jam Man he would be so fukin badass
Sam Fisher nice, but his last name isn't hamelton
Finally! A video covering kirk! Awesome
What if Kirk was in love with her and wanted to help her? o.0
Could be - many of the inhabitants likely fall in love with her, because of her kindness. It's almost an echo of Maiden Astraea.
Knight of Thorns? HUUZZAH!
Where is he at 11:30 .. I Beat the game and have never seen that place before...
hes in ashe lake. there is a large tree in blight town which you can enter by walking up a branch that dips down into the swamp. This branch leads you up into a little room inside the tree which has two illusory walls and behind them is the zone "the great hollow" and all the way at the bottom of the great hollow is ashe lake.
Ash Lake. To get there you may go to Blighttown > The Great Hollow and then Ash Lake, The "secret" map
Kirk must be in love with the fair lady
Would make sense!
Silver Mont yea, very nice lore videos by the way! i enjoy them
You blew my mind at 11:25 the serpents are working with the last few dragons to bring back the age of the dragons.
This should really be called darksouls lore : kirk and karth after that massive tangent at the end
Haha yeah, there's only so much you can talk about Kirk... it kinda branched off into related stuff.
That is a cool armor re-texture!
Edit: Just noticed it looks a lot like the throne watcher armor.
It seems so profitable for them.
i'm just thankful DK 2 isn't a prequel
Correction Solaire is the epitome of humanity and what they can attain through hard work he is the ultimate bro
I thought this was 'kick'.
"Oh, he's going to do lore on the kick move? Nice. This is gonna be good."
To be honest, I probably could spend 20 minutes talking about the lore implications behind kicking. I have become exceedingly proficient in the arts of both rambling and waffling.
The Dragons are incapable of killing the humans because the dragons are very few and the humans are dubbed undead with the dark sign
I thought your point on Kaathe's purpose to help humans was really eye-opening!
Perhaps dragons are making a comeback in DS2?
Spoiler alert: As far as I know, dragons are making a comeback in DS2
stickamateur its lore is vague enough that this still doesn't spoil it for me lol but I am excited for DS2
