  • The engine temperature gauge has been showing red even from a cold motor so I suspected the engine temperature sensor has failed. In this video I go through the steps to replace the sensor.
    Note: My videos are not a tutorial/how to. I am not a qualified mechanic so please refer to your workshop manual with your work. Do not use the content on my channel as a replacement for a workshop manual or mechanic.

    Hi Robert, my name is Mario Great video! I’m an e46 318i owner from Sydney... I really appreciate your work.. there aren’t many videos out there working on this BMW model, most are on 325 or 330, but this is, I think, is the only Chanel on this 4 cylinders M43 engine... please keep posting, I would really appreciate it.. thanks for your time and effort.

    • @rovertasmania7033

      I just usually check to see if there are torque specs, but usually small bolts are not so use correct judgement to determine how tight.

      Replace this sensor and it may be resolved. I had similar problem, when sensor was bad it was hard to start the car after stopping for a while, engine still warm but needed several cranks to start. Now in have no problems, so first change the sensor then see if the problem persists.

    • @rovertasmania7033
      @rovertasmania7033  4 роки тому

      The one in the radiator hose is to trigger the thermo fans for the aircon, or turn off the aircon after certain heat (cant remember). Your problem could also be something else, perhaps a faulty gauge or other issue... need to check your codes.
