Well, it’s not like he left willingly. He was kicked out after all, and he’s sure to be grumpy about it.

And I love how you progressively show how time is moving on like Grian with stubble and longer hair!
I do too. The start actually confused me for a bit, because I was wondering when in the timeline he'd look like that, then I realized it's the end of 3rd Life, that then leads into the start of Last Life. So cool.

*0:59* The short but sweet member history of the SouthernLands after Grian's comeback was depicted so well, I love it!
Love it!!!! I couldn't help but notice that Grian's yellow was darker than Mumbo's.
And then the separating at the end. DAMN IT! Mumbo walking away scarred and then Jimmy and G's face and Impulse trying to comfort him and I CANT!!! IT HURTS!
With the color difference my first thoughts was "because it was a gifted yellow life, not an original".
Then I saw that impulse(? I have a hard time remembering names to faces) was also the darker yellow like Grian and I don't think he was ever red.
So it might just be artistic choice
@@violetlupus5676 You're right. Impulse was darker. He did get killed thought. Cause Jimmy (Not Mumbo. I forgot he died xD) started off as yellow. Impulse was green to begin with. It totally could be a sign or just a creative choice.
This hits harder now. I’d love to see it remade with Grian killing Solidarity and Mumbo and then Martyn betraying him and impulse dying leaving Grian alone by himself
I will now breakdown each scene. Ya know, for fun and cause this is epic:
0:00 - Grian at the end of season one, alone and tired
0:06 - Grian receiving his two lives
0:13 - meeting solidarity and the gang while receiving a spy glass
0:17 - Him and Mumbo doing the “actually the diamonds are right HERE” bit
0:30 - Grian and mumbo building the ghast farm before Joel ruins the moment
0:35 - I think this is Mumbo’s perspective of the “there’s one way we can still be friends” moment
0:40 - leaving the south lands and teaming up with Joel
0:51 - Feeding his wolves
0:55 - going to scar with him on his list
0:57 - getting another life from scar
0:59 - rejoining the southerners
1:03 - mumbo turning red and Timmy leaving
1:07 - Burning down the base
1:10 - collecting the skulls
This is great! You did leave out them trading a life around at 0:18. Can’t think of anything else you missed

When Jimmy and Mumbo walked away it literally got tears flowing, this is fantastic omg
I'm losing my mind over the fact that you decided to start this animation with the end of season one. Grian as a character surviving the madness that was season one and getting himself "put back together" to go into season two, not too happy and merely coping until he got into the swing of things with friends again only to have it fall apart in front of him, reminding him of the pain season one caused. The memory of having to kill his own friends and being faced with that reality once again. Insane and I love it so much.
Edit: I'm also losing it over how cute the dogs are omfh
And considering today's episode had him finish off mumbo and jimmy for the season...
Zy, this is amazing! And you did it in less than a week!
You depicted everything so perfectly.
Grian just wanting to be happy on yellow, wanting to tie the group together with the life pass,
then turning red, chaos,
and then suddenly being completely Friendly, and happy again, reunited with mumbo, getting Jimmy back,
but then Mumbo and Jimmy die, and suddenly they're lonely, making him chaotic again. This is simply amazing, to say the least.

BRUH!!! THIS IS SO GOOD!! I haven't watched Grian's latest last life video so this is spoilers for me but that just makes me all the more excited to watch it! (Edit: I hate autocorrect)

I love how - somehow - the one green name and two yellow names are currently so much more terrifying than the red names combined, rn. Love this animation! Sums it all up perfectly!!
OH MY GOD THIS IS SOOOOO COOL. THE TRANSITIONS??? THAT END BIT WHERE THEY'LL ALL TOGETHER AND IT'S HAPPY AND I WAS HAPPY FOR *JUST A MOMENT* BEFORE MUMBO TURNS RED AND WALKS AWAY, AND THEN IT GOES UP IN FLAMES,,,, ,WOW!! MY EMOTIONS.

he was only onscreen for a short amount of time but your impulse design is probably one of my favorite things about this entire animatic. he is shaped like a friend
Aaaahhhhh this is amazing!! I love how the entire thing is Grian basically “walking” through his life, you never change from the front view of him and I think that’s really cool, never really seen that in an animatic before! And the Southlander’s bit, you got their dynamic down perfectly in just a few seconds to the point where even someone who didn’t know about Last Life could get upset when they all split up! And the very ending with the Wither skulls, how chill-inducing! All this to say this is so awesome, good job :D

Love the design of characters, the fact, that Grian's hair got longer and generally the idea of animation. Isn't that interesting fatum that Grian was the one who eventually killed Mumbo? He wanted to be his friend when he was red but when Mumbo got red, Grian finished him. And flashback of "I store my diamonds RIGHT HERE" got me nostAHAlgic
So, so good! I love all the little facial expressions, character design and colors!
Tells his story so well! Love how the sequence is clear and very pretty!

Omg I loved this I can't tell you how many times I have rewatched it. The transitions! Expretions! And when he got a extra life and everyone got together again , made me so happy!!!!and then Mumba left how they tried to stop them leaving!!!! (edit) adding to this because i finally remembered what i wanted to say. this part at 0:58 goes by so quickly yet this is basically how it felt like in the series and it HURTS!! like the Southlands' reunion lasted for only about an episode before it immediately got disbanded again due to more red names, and this time for good as it starts to fall apart entirely, and man it really just. captures that feeling of the calm before the storm. the pain. it hurts so bad

in just one session a half of the southlanders had ended their series
I love this, it perfectly shows how it was like he was acting out because everyone pushed him away, and when someone finally let him back in it was like his life was light again

Why is the shortest guy in the group always the most menacing
man it's amazing how when I watched Last Life it was simply exciting and entertaining, and when i watch animations like these it suddenly gets this super dramatic and emotional layer like the deepest drama series.
Oh my god!! This is incredible! The expressions, the DESIGNS! I LOVE the way you drew Grian through the different phases of his lives and the way the music also ties into the story here too; I love, love, love everything about this!!
