I cant begin to imagine how you composed this. Fantastic work sourcing all the lines and piecing them together to rhyme and create a bop of a song full of narrative and cohesion. Extra appreciation for also not only sourcing the lines, but altering them rhythmically to fit the pacing of the track. Awesome stuff, loved it!

Funnily enough, in the last life song and this one, Cleo started the deaths. Her line here was " The question is, who's going to die first?" and in the last life song she had " Do me a favor, die for me." and both of them went straight into the deaths. Kind of makes Cleo seem like a queen of the dead. Which... yeah, I think that's about right.
1:18 Combining Scott’s Relationship Ranch with Martyn’s “Bad Maths” has gotta be one of the funniest things I’ve seen out of the Life Series. As a Martyn enjoyer myself, I think taking the piss out of him by labeling him killing Cleo as a trust fall is extremely amusing lmao
Okay a few things I’d like to point out: The “something wicked this way comes” repeating is an epic touch, it really adds to the vibe of the song and makes it even more incredible. When everyone starts dying the sound effects are amazing!! Cleo’s “And don’t die.” Line is an amazing one to put in the chorus!! Amazing job Evil!! You always pair the best lines together, I swear.

I shook in excitement, and I’m still shaking now. Also, I love the lyrical genius in the chorus where Bdubs says “the sun’s going down” then Grian speaks (for those who dont know the word Grian in Latin translates to sun) This is by far my favorite out of the trilogy so far!
Double Pearl is hands down the best character ever forged from one of these series, a close second being Secret Scar, and so I have been anticipating this song for a while... ...And, um, as anvils do, you CRUSHED it. You're seriously insane for forging such an incredible symphony. Certain sections like the "es ere" rhymes and the changing chorus as well as even the incredible humor of this season PERFECTLY portrayed. And the story of the season is immaculately illustrated. This isn't just a song about Double Life. This IS Double Life... but it's a song. ❤️
i think last life scott should be up there too. really all the winners had such epic characters! double life pearl was really on another level though, she had such a strong theme and motif and she even had a catchphrase/themesong kinda

Okay I know a lot of other people have done this already, but I just want to point out the parts I appreciate the most - 1. The whole sequence from 0:20-0:27 with Cleo and Scott rejecting their soulmates. I was vaguely aware of this, but because there are so many people to follow early in the season, I hadn't seen it for myself. Laid out like this in the song it really turns Pearl's victory into a legit character arc, and I didn't appreciate it until this moment! 2. 0:32 Rhyming "SmallEtho" with "Be though" is my single favorite rhyme in the entire song. Inspired 😅 3. 1:31 Finding not one, but *two* rhymes for "S-tier" is a very close second 4. I don't think anyone has pointed out appreciation for how desperate Grian sounds at 1:53 (same with Joel in the next line, but I've seen more people point that out already 5. The way it seems like Anvil was able to preserve _entire conversations_ in the final two choruses and not break the rhyme scheme 6. The way Impulse's "oh wow" really emphasizes the last shift into Pearl's psycho mode haha
I am not seeing enough appreciation for the end scene! The drama is AMAZING, with their silhouettes and the voice acting from Scott and Pearl... amazing
So i'm just gonna make a big post on all the parts of this song that i'm obsessed with cause there's alot. 0:03 love the fact the song immediately starts with the horns already setting a melody for the song 0:09-0:27 this entire part is great with the way each pair of rhymes perfectly sums up the dynamics of the soulmates. Musty also did an amzing job with the silhouettes. 0:27 the way it transitions from the Ren saying the box is the ugliest base to Jimmy complimenting the ranch is hilarious 0:36 I ADORE the fact that you put the secret soulmates plotline and the homewrecks right after each other because even if they aren't related to each other they perfectly describe all the relationship drama that unfolds throughout the series 0:45 and here we have the first instance of Pearl's "something wicked this way comes" which adds so much fear and tension into the song and the black background with the flashes of the warden mixed in with the sound effects is excellent for build up (the mv quality has really shot through the roof for this song it's insane!) 1:13 I just really like this part as a small cut away from the song with them just talking. It's quite charming. 1:18 "we will start with a trust fall" *immediately shows Martyn and Cleo's bad math moment* Incredible comedic timing, absolutely lost it 1:38 "the question is who's gonna die first" Gosh that gave me CHILLS!!! The effects added to the voice helps alot too, really setting the scene, even though most people watching already knows the answer, it makes you feel anxious and I LOVE it! 1:42-2:00 Absolutely adore the way the guitar is used to signify the deaths of each soulbound and how the atring that connects them is the audio wave (? I don't know if that's correct) with the lines used seeming like the pair's final words to each other rhyming perfectly while still flowing naturally (I know that's basically what yiu do for the entire song but it's especially impressive here) 2:00 And here we have the second "something wicked this way comes"this time though it's not the warden they need ro be afraid of. It's Pearl, and she's out for blood. 2:05 "she's losing here freaking mind she's crazy!" YA THINK also adore the muted palette for this section 2:10-2:18 Now THAT'S a shot. Absolutely incredible and the way it slowly zooms in on Pearl and Tily with her laugh and iconic line "CALL THE DOGS OF WAR!!" really showcases how TERRIFYING she is. Also love the effects added to the text, really cool. 2:32 LOVE the change in lyrics for the chorus, in the previous two songs the chorus stayed the same so the change in lyrics here really threw me off and I like it 2:37 Again same as above love the way you switched up the chorus here, makes the song more dynamic 2:48 "I wouldn't think that you'd would be the one betray me" NOW THAT'S A LINE SWITCH UP!!! If the earlier lyric change didn't catch the listener off guard THIS will. WOW that loves rent free in my mind!!! 2:54 "Oh I'm doing just fine" the way you changed the context for that line adds makes it SO much colder and unhinged giving the song such a chilling ending 3:00 I like how in this song you made the final battle a sideview with just the silhouettes, never once showing the players' pov unlike the other two songs because this wasn't a duel nor a battle royal, it was a sacrifice and you conveyed the emitions from that perfectly with this artistic choice really making this cinematic This song was incredible as always but also changed and inproved upon the other two songs!!! I hope you're proud of yourself because you should be.
Great observations! I'm still rewatching this, on my fifth time out of oh, infinity times in total, probably. I'm absolutely in agreement with all of your comments about this, and one thing I'd like to add: I think the reason the "something wicked..." and "...doing just fine" lines hit so hard is the spatial audio: it sounds like Pearl is simultaneously everywhere in the world and inside each person's head...and the slight drop in volume for those lines just emphasizes that so much for such a subtle change! Also, giving Tango the drop with his "Sonic Boom!" line made my heart happy. 😊 Evil Anvil, it's *you* who has won Double Life.
Another crazy detail is that in the final couple choruses, the heads of those who have already died are greyed out a bit. So much thought and work into this piece of art!
Cleo's lines continue to be some of the best ones. Joel and Grian's rhyme conversation taking this song a bit meta. I also love SmallEtho rhyming with "be though". One of my favorite things about your songs is how you manage to tell the whole story in a song. "My heart's kinda broken I'm not gonna lie" turning into 5 am Pearl
I LOVE the irony of the moon rising while Scott sacrifices himself! It’s a toast to the winner. The night had begun, because with that win, the moon had finally come.
Out of all of Grian's SMPs This was the best in terms of character development / story and secret life was the best in terms of content (and watching all content creators - the idea for the task being secret so that you must watch other creators was genius!)
I like how, in the final part, when Pearl was running up to Scott after he lit the TNT, it cut out when she jumped up and was framed perfectly in the moon

THIS IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE YET. I can’t even begin to describe how well-composed this was, and the lyrics were genuinely S-tier. Like I gasped on MULTIPLE occasions at how perfect the lyrics were arranged. I also don’t feel like a ton of people are talking about how you did the deaths, but it was so cool and a lot of them puppeted my heartstrings around like you made them feel so impactful.

I absolutely /adore/ this. I love the structure of the song: intros of all the duos (and the divorce quartet's deal), first few session shenanigans, bookended by the burning of the ranch (which you established earlier as the ranchers' with jimmy), then the warden (agh I love that part of the song btw), then some plot development (showcasing cleo & martyn's further estrangement, scott's attitude towards pearl, grian's continued frustration with scar, the whole sugar cane thing, widespread destruction of the server), then all the deaths, final battles, and that final scene with scott and pearl (!!!). Idk I just love how, with this song, I think someone who's never seen the series can kind of glean what it's about. Also how everything is so thought out: - dude the transitions? Scott's "we will start with a trust fall" cleo's "the question is who's gonna die first" love them, chef's kiss - the intros to the duos all encapsulate their vibe (especially grian and scar). They also give a start to each of their stories (esp pearl's). - bigb in front of grian's heart immediately followed by impulse and bdubs talking about home-wrecking - the repeated use of 'something wicked this way comes' was amazing! first for the warden, then for pearl herself??? Loved it - also using the warden heart beat and skulk sound effects as part of the music?? absolutely amazing (same with incorporating the creeper from tangos death at the beginning, I love how quintessentially minecraft this is) - I love that you use things like "YEAH SONIC BOOM" and "what, rhyming burns with burns?" because I think these lines are very unique(?) to the creators/series and I just love how you don't shy away from using things that aren't as "serious." In general this is just a love letter to the series and it /shows/. - The guitar sound on the deaths are so cool!! Also the lines chosen for each of the deaths?? Perfect. "my buddy's coming home" followed by "_Oh no_" absolutely heartbreaking. Grian apologizing to scar kinda feels like a solid end to their relationship's arc(?) - also I don't know how exactly it all works but the fact that you can still hear the intonation of the lines is fantastic (joel's frantic "get back through!" and pearl's "I think I got a little bit crazy" stick out) - the switch outs of part of the chorus !!! They feel so smooth. I especially love the switch from "Sorry I think I got a little bit crazy" to "I didn't think you'd be the one to betray me!" and like that's not even mentioning the incredible part that you made this in the first place - making your own music, finding lines that not only rhymed but worked rhythmically (from /everyone/ might I add), and of course the visuals! the editing! This is such a labor of love and I am astounded by it

i can’t believe.. what really strikes me, listening to it again, is just- the voice acting, the vocal delivery. It all flows so naturally it’s unreal! It feels as though those lines were, like, properly recorded for this song-Nothing sounds forced, or sped up, or wonky, or unnatural at *all!*

It is similar to the other songs, but definitely has a twist to it that is kind of hard to describe. And that twist makes it sound interesting and fun. Especially loved the focus on pearl

I just wanna say, the formatting of this song was top tier. Every single part sounded right and flowed really nicely. I especially love how you changed up the chorus during the end while still keeping it similar, that was very clever. I will have to say that my favourite part is 1:56, the way the lines kind of overlap is really smooth, and the final line is incredibly chilling :D

What a change with the Last Life song. where Last life was darker, this one was wholesome. I liked the lighter tone to it. Very good job again and I can't wait for the other songs to come
The details in this are incredible, the horns at the start, the fact that it was always one death followed by their soulmate’s on the next beat, the greyed out faces of the dead members, the sort of static ending, subtle details like that all make the song and video come together perfectly. Double Pearl is hands down the best character ever forged from one of these series, a close second being Secret Scar, and so I have been anticipating this song for a while...
...And, um, as anvils do, you CRUSHED it. You're seriously insane for forging such an incredible symphony. Certain sections like the "es ere" rhymes and the changing chorus as well as even the incredible humor of this season PERFECTLY portrayed. And the story of the season is immaculately illustrated. This isn't just a song about Double Life. This IS Double Life... but it's a song. ❤️

This has to be my favourite one so far!! I especially love the “you bet your best gear/I am an S-tier/we’re looking for sugar cane/under the chest here” rhyme, it just works so perfectly
Okay I know a lot of other people have done this already, but I just want to point out the parts I appreciate the most -
1. The whole sequence from 0:20-0:27 with Cleo and Scott rejecting their soulmates. I was vaguely aware of this, but because there are so many people to follow early in the season, I hadn't seen it for myself. Laid out like this in the song it really turns Pearl's victory into a legit character arc, and I didn't appreciate it until this moment!
2. 0:32 Rhyming "SmallEtho" with "Be though" is my single favorite rhyme in the entire song. Inspired 😅
3. 1:31 Finding not one, but *two* rhymes for "S-tier" is a very close second
4. I don't think anyone has pointed out appreciation for how desperate Grian sounds at 1:53 (same with Joel in the next line, but I've seen more people point that out already
5. The way it seems like Anvil was able to preserve _entire conversations_ in the final two choruses and not break the rhyme scheme
6. The way Impulse's "oh wow" really emphasizes the last shift into Pearl's psycho mode haha
I am not seeing enough appreciation for the end scene! The drama is AMAZING, with their silhouettes and the voice acting from Scott and Pearl... amazing

So i'm just gonna make a big post on all the parts of this song that i'm obsessed with cause there's alot.
0:03 love the fact the song immediately starts with the horns already setting a melody for the song
0:09-0:27 this entire part is great with the way each pair of rhymes perfectly sums up the dynamics of the soulmates. Musty also did an amzing job with the silhouettes.
0:27 the way it transitions from the Ren saying the box is the ugliest base to Jimmy complimenting the ranch is hilarious
0:36 I ADORE the fact that you put the secret soulmates plotline and the homewrecks right after each other because even if they aren't related to each other they perfectly describe all the relationship drama that unfolds throughout the series
0:45 and here we have the first instance of Pearl's "something wicked this way comes" which adds so much fear and tension into the song and the black background with the flashes of the warden mixed in with the sound effects is excellent for build up (the mv quality has really shot through the roof for this song it's insane!)
1:13 I just really like this part as a small cut away from the song with them just talking. It's quite charming.
1:18 "we will start with a trust fall" *immediately shows Martyn and Cleo's bad math moment* Incredible comedic timing, absolutely lost it
1:38 "the question is who's gonna die first" Gosh that gave me CHILLS!!! The effects added to the voice helps alot too, really setting the scene, even though most people watching already knows the answer, it makes you feel anxious and I LOVE it!
1:42-2:00 Absolutely adore the way the guitar is used to signify the deaths of each soulbound and how the atring that connects them is the audio wave (? I don't know if that's correct) with the lines used seeming like the pair's final words to each other rhyming perfectly while still flowing naturally (I know that's basically what yiu do for the entire song but it's especially impressive here)
2:00 And here we have the second "something wicked this way comes"this time though it's not the warden they need ro be afraid of. It's Pearl, and she's out for blood.
2:05 "she's losing here freaking mind she's crazy!" YA THINK also adore the muted palette for this section
2:10-2:18 Now THAT'S a shot. Absolutely incredible and the way it slowly zooms in on Pearl and Tily with her laugh and iconic line "CALL THE DOGS OF WAR!!" really showcases how TERRIFYING she is. Also love the effects added to the text, really cool.
2:32 LOVE the change in lyrics for the chorus, in the previous two songs the chorus stayed the same so the change in lyrics here really threw me off and I like it
2:37 Again same as above love the way you switched up the chorus here, makes the song more dynamic
2:48 "I wouldn't think that you'd would be the one betray me" NOW THAT'S A LINE SWITCH UP!!! If the earlier lyric change didn't catch the listener off guard THIS will. WOW that loves rent free in my mind!!!
2:54 "Oh I'm doing just fine" the way you changed the context for that line adds makes it SO much colder and unhinged giving the song such a chilling ending
3:00 I like how in this song you made the final battle a sideview with just the silhouettes, never once showing the players' pov unlike the other two songs because this wasn't a duel nor a battle royal, it was a sacrifice and you conveyed the emitions from that perfectly with this artistic choice really making this cinematic
This song was incredible as always but also changed and inproved upon the other two songs!!! I hope you're proud of yourself because you should be.
Great observations! I'm still rewatching this, on my fifth time out of oh, infinity times in total, probably. I'm absolutely in agreement with all of your comments about this, and one thing I'd like to add: I think the reason the "something wicked..." and "...doing just fine" lines hit so hard is the spatial audio: it sounds like Pearl is simultaneously everywhere in the world and inside each person's head...and the slight drop in volume for those lines just emphasizes that so much for such a subtle change!
Also, giving Tango the drop with his "Sonic Boom!" line made my heart happy. 😊

THIS IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE YET. I can’t even begin to describe how well-composed this was, and the lyrics were genuinely S-tier. Like I gasped on MULTIPLE occasions at how perfect the lyrics were arranged. I also don’t feel like a ton of people are talking about how you did the deaths, but it was so cool and a lot of them puppeted my heartstrings around like you made them feel so impactful.

I absolutely /adore/ this. I love the structure of the song: intros of all the duos (and the divorce quartet's deal), first few session shenanigans, bookended by the burning of the ranch (which you established earlier as the ranchers' with jimmy), then the warden (agh I love that part of the song btw), then some plot development (showcasing cleo & martyn's further estrangement, scott's attitude towards pearl, grian's continued frustration with scar, the whole sugar cane thing, widespread destruction of the server), then all the deaths, final battles, and that final scene with scott and pearl (!!!). Idk I just love how, with this song, I think someone who's never seen the series can kind of glean what it's about.
Also how everything is so thought out:
- dude the transitions? Scott's "we will start with a trust fall" cleo's "the question is who's gonna die first" love them, chef's kiss
- the intros to the duos all encapsulate their vibe (especially grian and scar). They also give a start to each of their stories (esp pearl's).
- bigb in front of grian's heart immediately followed by impulse and bdubs talking about home-wrecking
- the repeated use of 'something wicked this way comes' was amazing! first for the warden, then for pearl herself??? Loved it
- also using the warden heart beat and skulk sound effects as part of the music?? absolutely amazing (same with incorporating the creeper from tangos death at the beginning, I love how quintessentially minecraft this is)
- I love that you use things like "YEAH SONIC BOOM" and "what, rhyming burns with burns?" because I think these lines are very unique(?) to the creators/series and I just love how you don't shy away from using things that aren't as "serious." In general this is just a love letter to the series and it /shows/.
- The guitar sound on the deaths are so cool!! Also the lines chosen for each of the deaths?? Perfect. "my buddy's coming home" followed by "_Oh no_" absolutely heartbreaking. Grian apologizing to scar kinda feels like a solid end to their relationship's arc(?)
- also I don't know how exactly it all works but the fact that you can still hear the intonation of the lines is fantastic (joel's frantic "get back through!" and pearl's "I think I got a little bit crazy" stick out)
- the switch outs of part of the chorus !!! They feel so smooth. I especially love the switch from "Sorry I think I got a little bit crazy" to "I didn't think you'd be the one to betray me!"
and like that's not even mentioning the incredible part that you made this in the first place - making your own music, finding lines that not only rhymed but worked rhythmically (from /everyone/ might I add), and of course the visuals! the editing! This is such a labor of love and I am astounded by it

WATCHED THIS LIVE. the beat is insane, and the details are amazing. i understand why this took so long. as a song maker, i cannot appreciate Evil Anvil’s music more, it’s insane. finding rhyming lines that fit together. wow. and the beat when the soulmates are dying is just incredible. great song Evil Anvil, worth the wait!
This in my opinion is my favorite one yet it feels more ominous with “something wicked this way comes” and the sound effect after each duo got out hit so hard keep this up, hoping for a limited life song :)
It is similar to the other songs, but definitely has a twist to it that is kind of hard to describe. And that twist makes it sound interesting and fun. Especially loved the focus on pearl
0:25 the way pearl pronounced this line was less of a “my hearts kinda broken I’m not gonna lie” 😢 and more of a “my hearts kinda broken I’m not gonna lie” 🤔 if that makes sense. This is one of mt fav lines cuz it scratches the brain

How do you have the power of finding these perfect quotes that rhyme but also work well as a sentence and then set them to music. You are insanely talented. Well done.
This is such a good song. The way you add “Something wicked this way comes” is so goood. It adds also such a good contrast against the others songs and winners. Something to really show scarlet pearls unhinged behavior in the season
I just wanna say, the formatting of this song was top tier. Every single part sounded right and flowed really nicely. I especially love how you changed up the chorus during the end while still keeping it similar, that was very clever. I will have to say that my favourite part is 1:56, the way the lines kind of overlap is really smooth, and the final line is incredibly chilling :D

What a change with the Last Life song. where Last life was darker, this one was wholesome. I liked the lighter tone to it. Very good job again and I can't wait for the other songs to come

The details in this are incredible, the horns at the start, the fact that it was always one death followed by their soulmate’s on the next beat, the greyed out faces of the dead members, the sort of static ending, subtle details like that all make the song and video come together perfectly.
