Hi Joolz, ive been trying to get hold of you for a private tour for a birthday. Is your contact page working on your website? If not could you reply to this message with an email address? Cheers old chap!
Hiya, yes the form does work. I keep getting endless emails from it. I'd rather not put my address here but you could also try the Joolz Guides Facebook page.
Good..
Spek...now...my...big...pand...m...ale...wieah...ok...Good....
You deserve millions of subcribers
I thought that first time I saw his stuff months ago
Thanks folks. I know. I agree. Where's the justice?
The cutting of the baby in half thing was full of wisdom in that the real mother would never let it happen..!
Never stop Joolz, you're the absolute best channel on youtube. C'mon bbc/c4/c5 give this guy his own show!
Indeed....maybe we should petition them
Carl Liddle much more fun that Rick Steves 🥴
Julian, Michael Stewart here. Johannesburg, South Africa. I absolutely love your videos. If I may bold enough to comment on the acronym "T.I.P". The story I was told by a restauranteur some years ago is this: It stands for Towards Improved Performance. It was paid ahead of the meals to ensure that the "Improved Performance" continued throughout the evening or lunch or whatever the function was. One Performance provider who received a substantial sum ahead of the evening, and decided it was a good idea to make off with his fortune. Needless to say, since that day it has been paid after the event. I'm sure this story would fit into the Myth or Legend genre.
This has become my 'go to' daily viewing.
Mr. McDonnell, please refrain from assuming we don't care. Everyone who has an interest is already familiar with the usual information on the great city of London. I have subscribed to your channel because of the trivia and minutiae that sets you apart from all others. I'm confident that many others feel the same. Thank you for the entertainment.
Would greatly enjoy an in depth tour of Tower Hill.
Ha ha...well, I need a catch phrase so perhaps that can be mine! I know you care really. Tower Hill? Hmm...I've covered some of it in various videos (with some errors) but I guess I could do a compilation.
I was thinking the same
Never stop making videos Joolz :)
I'm going to try...but people keep asking for walks!
You can find an anchor on a parish boundary stone because the anchor is an old Christian symbol. It can be found on Christian grave stones at least as far back as the 2nd century. You can buy necklaces where you have three symbols - the cross, the anchor and the dove - standing for faith, hope and charity.
Thanks! That's great! I have wonderful and knowledgeable viewers. Where were you when I was filming?!
And the symbol for St Clement as well. Wasn’t he martyred by drowning attached to an anchor?
So much history and we just walk on by
I love the little details.
As an Irishman that used to live in London..I love these videos!
I just wanted to say that you definitely opened my eyes to London history.
I'm just one of the many lonely women in the USA stuck inside due to covid-19 wondering what else is out there.
I am definitely not familiar with all the different areas in England or even the U.K. as a whole but I do love watching your videos.
I feel like my mind has been opened up more in the last week watching your videos than in my entire life.
Please keep doing what you do.
For all my fellow Americans; Sir William Marshall is considered the greatest knight who ever lived. His life is truly incredible. I wish I would've seen this when I was in London.
"I've mentioned this in my other video" this quote is fast becoming as unique to Joolz as his hat
You are FANTASTIC! I cannot get enough of your videos....more please Julian x
Gosh...well...I'm trying.
Don't know if anybody have said anything, but the crossed legs on the effigies ment that the deceased had gone to the Holy Land.
Have to take your word for it. 😉
Absolutely fantastic! Give this man his own tv show.
It amazes me how Joolz remembers all this history.
I’m rewatching all of Joolz videos for the 5th time lol
Cheers mate
Joolz was so charming and witty when the woman asked what he was doing. Since I’ve been living in the UK, I’ve gained an appreciation for British humor. It is so refreshing and lovely.
so much history, and you sir are true english gentleman
Ha ha...never rude unintentionally
Used to drink in The Seven Stars in the 80's..great pub!! Great video, Jules!
Love the history of London and the pubs
Thanks. This area is very cool
Love your channel so awesome to learn the history of London 😊 my granddad worked at the law courts of justice he was the legal secretary to sir justice Shaw. I've been inside the court as a kid it's beautiful inside the building.
Would love to see Old Bailey courthouse if you ever pass by. I have family criminal history there, that’s where my family was banished to the States for grand larceny of 1 mahogany tea chest and 1 looking glass that he stole from Queen St. Lincoln-Fields Inn. Cheers. Love your work.
Thoroughly enjoyed this
As someone who is just about to qualify as a Lawyer in London, I thank you so much for an excellent guide to what will be my new home, as well as some lovely nuggets of knowledge I can share to my colleagues! Class as always!
Hello, Really enjoying your channel so informative thank-you
"As if you cared!" Of course we care, or we wouldn't be watching! Thank you again for another interesting walk.
I remember walking along Fleet St on my last day in London 3 weeks ago and seeing the Twinings shop and numerous pubs. It seems that just about everywhere I went there was another pub! London was great, even if hot in August, but I'm looking forward to another visit sometime!
There are certainly a lot on that street. Nice ones too.
My favourite youtube channel. I saw some of these sites on my walk. I learn so much, and yes it makes me fancy a pint too. Cheers
You were great company Mandee
I love the Royal courts of justice... The old Bailey is gorgeous.....
I find the Old BAiley spooky
In answer to your question, yes we do care. It’s the little details that make your videos so wonderful to watch.
It's always interesting to watch what's going on in the background too
Hi Julian David here a scot living in London I just watched your vlog and I loved it so thank you for sharing it David
Thanks David.
One pub I've never heard of and one I love!
Oh great! Well....glad to be of service. There are certainly a lot of them!
aww Joolz i care a great deal on everything about london and what you show!!
Thanks Cherry
Love the videos keep up the good work Joolz! I'm a Londoner myself living in Shanghai. Definitely getting a private tour next time I'm back.
That will be great.
Yet another absolute classic, ol' chap. Tremendous job!
Thanks Austin
Great video, one of the most "secret" and often missed parts of central London. The only thing I missed was "There stands me wife, the idol of me life singing..."
My new favourite channel! I went to King's College on Strand but I never noticed any statues or any historical places around there. I'll definitely go back after Covid is over!
I LOVE learning about the KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE......TY 😘
I love this and yes we are interested in every detail.
Thank you for these beautiful walks. I m planning a trip to London, really helpful information. Greeting from Cancun
Love your channel! Love England, 🇬🇧 thanks for your time
Fantastic videos Joolz, shared with all my friends. 👍
I was just there on Monday ! A marvelous place indeed!
Superbly informative videos which will be invaluable next time we visit london.
What a lot of favourite pubs!
Another great production! 🎬📹
Thanks Sir
Thank you Jules, you make great vids! Always entertaining, always interesting and informative even for those who think they know London well.
Thank you. Yes, I hope I can give an extra perspective although I'm no expert.
Knights Templar, Edgar Wallace & I’ve gotta lovely bunch of coconuts 👌
Excellent , enjoy all your vids ,Jools.
Here here great show the historic value of the show is stellar.
Thank you Joolz!
I think the Knights symbol of crossing the legs was to show that the knight had severed in the Crusades.
So interesting! Thank you!
As always interestingly brillient.
Fantastic as always Joolz 👍👍👍
Cheers again Jonathan
Another interesting video. I am hoping to travel to London in the next couple of years for the first time and have been watching all your videos. I am loving them and it is making me more excited about traveling to England.
Thanks. have a great trip!
Another fantastic video Julian! Your past half dozen videos have had this nice calm, casual feel to them which Sioux and I have absolutely picked up on and are enjoying. Hope you’re doing well!
Thanks. Halloween coming up...let's see what I can do!
Enjoyed it as always.
My great-grannie was born and raised in Clement Lane. I suspect it was a touch less well-to-do in the 1850s. That area was known as "Liberty of the Rolls", apparently.
Amazing video ...always enjoy your tours ...most interesting videos on youtube !
Thanks.
Gosh it's expensive to buy the legal gear for court. I loved the fact that the judge can 'not hear you' if you don't have your wig on. You have wonderful information. I love watching your videos
Try and stay out of the dock. Thanks Joolz enjoyed that!
Brilliant video.....!!!!
Hiya Joolz! Just went to London for the first time with my boyfriend and I just wanted to thank you for all your videos. They really helped us enjoy the city from an even better perspective!
Thanks. That's kind.
I've seen quite a bit of your videos and they're very good. But this one is definitely a favorite. :)
Really? I rushed it. That's nice to hear.
I love your videos!!
Thanks Kimi.
As a result in contemplation of this, your most recent brilliant videography of London, we are most seriously tempted to sojourn again to your lovely city as in our previous six visitations it appears we have overlooked in our ignorance some of the enticing locations you highlighted. Although the Temple Church has been found locked to us , despite its publicized hours open, we are heartened to try again as if we find it closed we can seek solace in the Edgar Wallace now that you have revealed ut to us. Wonderful video Joolz!
Maybe it's because you're about 200 years too late, given your lovely parlance. :-)
Ha ha! I agree, most Elizabethan. The church might be closed at weekends and that goes for the Edgar Wallace too. They don't get much custom on weekends as the lawyers aren't there so they close I believe.
James Johnson Love the term ‘queer street’ My parents used to use that term 😂
"Do you know how to read?"- Awesome! Love your videos!!
Fantastic
Cheers
i love your channel !!
Very good video, i really like it!
I love the videos, especially those quaint old pubs! Pub crawl video (with history of course) in the making?
Gosh...that requires a lot of drinking.
This has been your best one ever.
That's nice to hear
Brilliant again Jools. I might hit this on 29th Sept when I’m down next. I might get a ruff for my cats.
stfitness if you get a ruff for your cats please come back here and let the rest of us know where to get them.
Cat ruffs could be a new thing.
Two day in to finding you....just absolutely loving it. All the areas of London I thought I knew so well. Haha.
Cheers again. A true fan!
I did enjoy this episode - and the boundary markers were fascinating! No honestly 😊👍
wonderful architecture.
Yes, I was in there today.
new subsciber love this do more on east london steve
Thes videos are very informative
Nice shades Julian! 😎
Pretty cheap!
Joolz - could you do something along the Thames estuary and all the history of the docks and the significance of all the remains that are there today (may be it’ll have to be a joolz bike ride rather than walk / amble - depending on how far you go and how recent a history tour you can do). I really like your vids. Cheers
excellent
Thank you.
After I retired I worked as a peripatetic union rep as I'd been one at work for 25 years. I sometimes met people in places like the Royal Courts and the Ministry of Defence. Fabulous places.
They are beautiful...but a bit lugubrious in my opinion
Makes me laugh it's the way you say it...🤣 Id love to come on one of your walks...with plenty public loos near by as you are funny 😘
Thanks, is there a video containing some info on Gray's Inn road?
Another very charming and informative video. I love that you take us into the pub with you. I for one love the historical details and architecture. That is why we tune in.
Thanks. Well....if they let me film I'll show it to you.
love your vids
That's great to hear
When are you getting a knighthood for services to London?
Just to show Im paying attention to your amusing and informative videos, at 13:02 the briefly glimpsed customer in the flower pattern dress at the bar of the Seven Stars is clearly the lady who showed you around Dr Johnson's House in another film. Did you shoot them on the same day?
Joolz, could you make a video on public toilets in London, as I can never find a place to go!
Also are there still any old Victorian type underground loos?
Also I love all your little “life of brian” references or Black adder ect they are not wasted on me.
Many of them seem to be bars nowadays. Presumably you can use their toilet?
Architecture competitions are still very common. Lawyers aren't "assigned" to an inn of court, they have to apply for membership. Which inn they apply to often depends on who they know who's already a member, or family or school tradition etc.
Oh yes, you do care! Please continue to do so.
Enjoying the videos
Thanks. All the way from Ohio too!
My husband isa lawyer in malaysia .he study in linkansin.when we go to uk every time he take me to hv lunch there and he buy his law books and tie all there.yeah its beautiful place .i lv london .
