Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky: PIQUE DAME (Costume teaser)

Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky's penultimate opera PIQUE DAME, adapted from a verse novel by Alexander Pushkin, tells of the unequal struggle of social classes between striving for freedom and fatalism, love and gambling addiction.
In the new production by British director Sam Brown, the extensive costume design acts as a central motif for translation. We met and spoke to his stage and costume designer Stuart Nunn during fittings.
