Thanks for uploading this cool performance. Some 4 decades back, the US and Japanese disco scenes were pretty much inundated by funk music like this. Unlike today's too mechanical music, the previous one kept kind of hand-made texture and thus warmth of musicians. To my regret , presumably the trend won't be reversed. Technological advance has made music rather inhumane but in the meantime it gives me some relief to know that I can timeslip and enjoy what intrigued me in my youth just by a few clicking. Thank you again!

Where and when was this filmed? Who was the bass player? Looks a bit like Andre Berry, but I don’t think he ever played for the Dazz Band.

The bass player is Jara Harris. He has his own band called Slapbak. They have some real funky stuff. Check them out. Long live the FUNK.
