T5 world class and non-world class transmissions all have the same bolt pattern on the cover. They also use the same forks. However, some forks on newer units had a little bit more material on them. So you can interchange any way you like
Hey I was watching another video and tried to remove the hub on the main shaft that is not supposed to come off I think I might have moved it a millimeter or so but did not take it off, is there any way to fix that?
Does it make any difference that you are DRY fitting these ? Will that same "Lock up" happen in the oil rich environment it live's in ? I'm asking because I would think it wouldn't ? Am I wrong ? Hey hand fit parts are always best but are they that necessary ?
These are NEW parts. The dry fitting process helps burnish the synchros in. Oil isn't the answer and will not prevent rings from sticking again when new. The problem happens often because in shipping gearboxes the rings will get stuck to the gears usually from boxes being banged around. Resellers such as Jegs or Summitt deal with complaints and returns because transmissions appear stuck in gear when they are not.
I don't really use these gearsets for power. They are used in Jaguar Road race transmissions because they are close ratio. This is not a drag race transmission. Typically 400 HP
Ah ok, so are there any gearsets for power for a t5, or just I just go for something like a TKO600? I got an s10 that I'm gonna put a 383 stroker in, it won't be used for drag racing or anything.
I replaced the synchs on my '89 S-10 T-5 transmission. I followed the video several times. Left nothing out. After pressing on the 5th gear up to the bearing I had 375 thou between the end of the gear and the groove for the c-clip? but if I put the gear assembly in the case, and slide on the big fifth gear. They are aligned perfectly. So how do I deal with the 375 thou space. If I ran it that way the gear would just back to the c-clip. Leaving only contact with about half the gear on each? What do I do? G'day mate. Thanks for your advice on. My t5 build. If you get any time I'd love for you to check out the very latest video on my channel. The sebring 5th gear is amazing. I see you used PVC pipe and fittings for your compressed air system in your shop. You should NEVER use PVC pipe and fittings for any compressed air or gases. They are not designed for air or gas. Fluids only. The reason being is if something was to ever hit the pipe or fittings and they break it explodes, sending shrapnel like fragments in all directions. There are plastic piping systems designed for compressed air but standard plumbing grade PVC pie and fittings are NOT and it is a very dangerous practice to use it this way.
Hi, thanks for your concern. I get this from a lot of people. Reprimanding me about stuff in my shop is something some people think is cool. Truth is its an old system from a previous tenant that I don't use. So I'm not an idiot and there is no air that goes thru it. Maybe say something like "Hey Paul do you run high pressure air thru those pipes?"
I work in frame/collision repair and have worked for two auto rebuilders and both used PVC and/or PCVC for compressor lines. I'm wanting to say around 125psi maybe more I don't remember but I can't tell you how many times we've busted the lines, how many times we've had to chisel down into the concrete for repairs, many many times over the last 20 yrs. I've had one explode right in my face and it really wasnt that violent and I don't recall one time that it sent shrapnel flying that hurt anyone, not saying it can't happen just saying in my experience at the psi we ran it didn't seem to be very dangerous. Having been around it as much as I have I wouldn't hesitate to use it in my personal shop.
No, they just need prep work. This is a good example of when companies think polishing a gear will fix dented or heavily burred gears and it won't. Sadly it's something you have to deal with today.
Great video. I have a stock t5 in my 67 mustang. I just pulled it out and want to install this kit. The yrans shifted great behind a mild 302. But the 351w going in the car will break the T5. I'm guessing that you do most of the other maintainence work on your vehicles, if you don't how do you feel comfortable letting other people work on your cars?
Nobody seems to do things the way we like to do it ourselves.
I have no problem with other people working on my vehicles. Most of them I have built relationships through the years and trust them.
I fucked up and took that hub off that you said not to...and your right...you pretty much cannot get it back on properly lol..luckily it was just a pracrice transmission and not one that was worth a dam
What is the best for a good price.
G Force needs to get their shit together....
Really excellent videos.
Thanks!
Hi Paul. Are the pattern plates in the extension housing removable?
+t5montecarlo some are and some are not because most are pressed into a blind hole. Yet other extensions they are exposed on the bottom and can be punched out
What kinda power will the g force gears hold?i have a sbc making 430-450ftlbs,going in a 85 c10,,
Call Gforce and explain your application
Thank You Sir.
Any benefit to you if I buy the book direct or off of Amazon?
I don't sell on Amazon
@@GearBoxVideo Ohh I thought you said Amazon in the video i must have misunderstood, thanks.
Good info, new sub!
Welcome!
Fantastic
Thank you! Cheers!
I would assume G-Force wont honor the warranty if you do any of this finishing work.
I don't see how they would warranty racing gears anyway.
What do You charge to do a basic world class T5 rebuild ?
Do you have a rebuild kit for the m7003z?
Yes, they are currently $415.00 You have to call us at 561-743-5600 to order.
THANKS!
Why is fifth gear syncro brass and the rest not
+dylan scronce because you only upshift into it and there is not that much work needed.
Hey Paul how much do you sale this transmission for i want one
I don't sell T5 transmissions. I just did the video to show people how to build them.
@@GearBoxVideo oh ok thank you
We can definitely be friends!
how much torque can this handle ?
No rating
can you rebuild a WC T5 for me
I'm not taking in repairs or rebuild work at the present time
How much HP can a world class T-5 take
Only for the intended use they were designed for and very little more to be dependable
G'day mate. Thanks for your advice on. My t5 build. If you get any time I'd love for you to check out the very latest video on my channel. The sebring 5th gear is amazing. It only drops 500rpm from 4th to 5th in my race car. It almost sounds like it has two 4th gears! Stays right on the power! Love it! 👍
blairo15 I will, thanks for your support.
sorry 5 gear synchro rings
❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It sounds like these G force gear sets are junk.
No, they just need prep work. This is a good example of when companies think polishing a gear will fix dented or heavily burred gears and it won't. Sadly it's something you have to deal with today.
Thats crap , they sell them in hope they brake and you buy another

Great video.
I have a stock t5 in my 67 mustang.
I just pulled it out and want to install this kit. The yrans shifted great behind a mild 302. But the 351w going in the car will break the T5.
I figure I'll be right at about the limits with the g force kit. But cheaper than. Buying a new TKO/TKX Trans.
Depends. Spend 1500 for the gear set plus another 500 for a kit. What happens if you break it?
@@GearBoxVideo Good point lol.
