no bro the cummins of the signature 600 series are isx engines without all that more accurate egr system and with much more power cummins stopped manufacturing some time ago.

That's funny how you said she purrs like a kitten, the only thing is it's a Cummins, not a cat. But it would be pulling harder if it was a cat. As they have more torque down low.
@@PianolaDanOz, OMG. Here in the United States, the grades are mostly 6% Signature 600 pulling that 110,000 pounds, walks up that hill at 65 mph, with an 18 speed. Can't imagine 10% grade, wow.

Nice engine but horribly underpowered no wonder your brother is working the gearbox hard, all the extra wear and tear. For good hill climbing performance without flogging the engine,s guts out, there are two options, a snorting 19 Litre Cummins QRSK, 750, 900hp,or better a huge KittyCat V-12 purring 960 ponies. A four trailer road train averages 185 to200 tons fully loaded,it needs best part of 1,000hp to do 45- 50kph on the flat without flogging the guts out of the engine.
QRSK Cummins are Not permitted on the Seaboard due to Emissions and the V-12 Cat isn't going to FIT in a USABLE vehicle for interurban work . Which is where this particular Grade is . Between Wollongong and Sydney .
@@andrewking4885 Well ,it has been done, The owner of a 1977 Kenworth W-900 has fitted yes cats&kittens ,a 'K' Series Cummins. Okay the K has a weight, and emissions issue, but in this world there is no such thing as a free lunch ,just 10 percent off the price. It is not rocket science to re work the K,s cylinder head and fit AD Blue, an exhaust scrubbing system popular in UK, in essence concentrated animal piss injected into the exhaust stream trapping particulates and reducing NoX. @Rejected-From-Eve .Zero A 237hp Mack was a high torque engine for it's time. 906 ft lb torque.

Listen to that girl work. Nothing sounds better than a Cummins. F***en awesome, beautiful smooth gear changes too.

The engine sound is better than music.
Very hard hill and good driving
Silky smooth yet very quick gear changes.
No choice when you’re washing off speed that fast
What a great video !!! Awesome sounding Cummins !!!!!
Bet she’s warm after that. Lovely job 😦
Pulls hard hey, pretty awesome
🤣
Keep making video's like this one.
+diesel180023 Will do. Just waiting on more footage from a different truck. The next one will be a Cat C15 with Straight pipes in an Argosy.
thank you for detail video as not show much chance to the highway there as watch your truck do climb up to Picton Rd
That thing must be real heavy for me it’s cat power all the way

Why was he pulling up at the end there , on the Picton Rd ? Destination there ?
That died in the arse quickly, must be steeper than it looks. Stay safe
Yea mate it is I go down it a few times a week definitely a decent pull.
Mt Ousley is Fairly Steep , yes . A LONG Grade .
You do paint quite a picture lol.
Western Star truck?
Is the engine a KTA-1150? I’ve never heard of a signature 600 cummings.

Must grossing a fair bit of weight to pull a 600 Cummins down like that.
D Mc 65.5 ton. Much steeper than it looks also
Ya, that's a nice bit of weight! What grade percentage is that? Must be 5 or 6% grade, maybe more. Not easy to tell from a camera view.
