What frustrates the hell out of me is that if this was released 20 years ago when she was younger, it would've got the radio play it deserved and became (I'm certain) one of her biggest hits ever. Ageism is alive and well in the record industry. I understand it's a marketing thing, as young listeners (which are the bulk of the audience that purchases music) usually don't feel they can identify with an artist that's as old as their grandparent, but it truly saddens me to see it perceived as the quality of the work isn't as good or that it isn't as of high quality as in their younger years. Art has no age specification, period. If Madonna released 'Like A Prayer' today, it would receive no airplay and go relatively unnoticed. Total shame. I'm glad M sticks to her guns and just does what she wants to do, being true to herself and her art. There are fans out there (like myself) who understand all of this and do not take her or her art for granted.
