0:10 - I’ve told some of my friends about the podcast, and one of them had a question. Ian, what is something in the Sonic series that you WOULDN’T want to make canon? You’ve been partially known to mine and find potential in just about anything, so my friend and I are curious as to where you draw the line.
3:01 - You’ve been asked before what Shatterspace versions of specific characters would be, so how about Zavok? Feel free to include any other miscellaneous Zeti ideas you come up with, but I didn’t wanna go “Hey mister Sonic man, come up with 18 characters on the spot k thx bye”
4:47 - As someone who does a decent amount of fan works, I often find myself less interested in creating my own original characters and more interested in fleshing out and reinventing older less known/developed characters. I’m even workshopping a project where I dig out a bunch of obscure public domain characters and rework them into a modern narrative. What are your thoughts on this “new creations VS reinventions of old creations” dilemma I have? Again, you're known for referencing a lot of old material while also creating a good amount of original stuff, so I figured you’d have an interesting answer to this.
7:14 - How do you feel knowing that your characterizations of certain less popular characters made people come around on them? I respect the heck out of it, especially some of the alarmingly raw quotes you give to Zavok of all characters.
8:34 - Through some Phantom Ruby/Warp Topaz shenanigans, the AoStH versions of Scratch Grounder and Coconuts find their way into the main canon! How would the modern cast of heroes react and feel about them? How would they integrate into the Eggman Empire? And most importantly, how quickly would Eggman go insane trying to figure out how their Looney Toons esc logic and abilities work on a scientific/mechanical level?
10:50 - You’ve gotten plenty of questions about the Moebius versions of plenty of games (Scourge Generations, Scourge 3&K, ect), but it’s time for a real man’s question! What would the Moebius version of Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games’s story mode be like? I’m specifically talking about the DS version of the game, which had a single player campaign.
13:13 - Potential Lost-Hedgehog-Tales territory, but if Archie ever asked you to expand upon the destroyed world Robo Robotnik MK2 left behind before he became modern Eggman, how would you do it? What random one off characters from the main continuity would help in the horrific aftermath? WOULD THE NERBS BE A CRUCIAL FACTION IN REBUILDING SOCIETY?!
14:40 - How differently do you view Evil Sonic and Scourge? While they are technically the same character, Scourge as well as the rest of the Moebius crew got pretty big overhauls that you played a big part in, while Evil Sonic was a fairly one note joke character introduced in a vastly different era of the comic, and at a time when I assume that you were fairly young? Anyways, I’m curious to know if there’s any sort of difference between them in your eyes.
16:39 - One of my favorite things about video games to other media adaptations is seeing familiar levels and locations from said games return in a new medium, especially if we get to see what happened to them after the credits for their game roll. (Shoutouts to Daniel Barnes, Scrapnik Island scratched that itch of mine REAL good with the ruined Death Egg, Egg Carrier, and Scrapniks) So I’m asking, what are YOUR favorite uses of game locations in any of the comics/shows? Could be from any of your runs on the comics, or someone else’s work.
19:37 - I know you feel…less than positive about your fan comics from back in the day, but in my opinion, it’s kinda humanizing. How one of the most recognizable Sonic comic/game writers didn’t start out as this mighty being born high above the rest of us plebeians, but as just another fan on the internet expressing their passion. (And besides, who DOESN’T cringe at their old creative works?) I bring this up to ask you, what were some of your favorite humanizing moments of creatives you looked up to? Moments that helped you realize that the people who you looked up to were, well, people? And good ones at that!

The Sonic Friends Forever website has profiles of Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Eggman, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Cream, Silver, and Blaze. If you had to remove or add characters to/from the apparently go-to Sonic website, who would you pick?

Just wanted to throw this question out as a bit of fun, SO! One thing that I noticed in Sonic 06 is that a lot of the characters like dance. Mephiles likes performance-based stuff and both Iblis and Blaze sometimes dance as a part of their fighting style. So out of these 3 firey spirits...who's the best dancer? OR, Dance fighter? And how did they learn their skills?

One of the most vague aspects of the Mega Man Lore is how ambiguous the details are between various eras. With many unanswered questions
One such question is: what happened to Dr light, rock, roll and the rest of the light family between the classic and x series?
My personal headcanon is that when it came time for the classic cast to "die" Dr light transported everyone into cyberspace so that they can live together in their "digital heaven".
Do you Ian have your own headcanon on what happened to the classic mega Man cast?
If you had to pick levels to be the Definitive Stages of the general area/group(Ex: South Island; Green Hill), what would you pick? Feel free to choose your own locations/groups, though I really want to know what you'd pick for the Eggman Empire. I think it'd be Chemical Plant because of how recurring it is, but I also don't like that answer.

Since Ian made the story for the Fang mini-series I do want to ask... Why did you decide the reason Fang's gang should break up be because Bean was upset about their group not making enough profit and being exposed to too much danger? It seems to me that Bean was only with Fang because he wanted excitement and variety in his life and enjoyed being exposed to danger. So it is weird that Bean would get upset that they were on a wild goose chase so long as that chase led to new experiences for him. Wouldn't it have been better if Fang finally crossed the line of doing something so terrible that Bark was the one who got upset, finally spoke up and dressed down Fang for needlessly endangering them? I just think it's weird that Bean's whole character took such a weird turn while it has been clear that Bark doesn't want to be a bad guy and seemed to only have been with Fang to stop him from being too evil, maybe even believing Fang was a good guy deep down. Bark giving up on him would have given Fang all that much more reason to have hardened his heart and treated Trip as harshly he did even though, according to Sonic Channel artwork, she very much adored and looked up to him. The Chaotic Bean suddenly being worried about their adventures not making a profit shouldn't wound Fang nearly as deeply. I really feel like you had the wrong member of Fang Gang give up on Fang even though we can understand that Bark and Bean are more loyal to one another than they were to Fang and so whichever of them abandoned him, the other would always go along with it.
hey bumblegang! so, anytime ian says boscage maze, i always hear it as Boss-Cage Maze, and that's sounds something fun and videogame-y so let's be silly for a second (only a second though) and what would something called the "Boss-Cage Maze" in Sonic's universe be? you could make it an eggman project, a shatterverse, whatever!
