    I just got this ruler at a yard sale and knew it looked like something I could use, but this is beyond my expectations! So excited to use this!

    Thank you for the video, I was given this mat today, and now I know how to use it too! I'm very grateful to both the lady that gave me the mat, and to you, June, for explaining how to use it :)

    I just purchased this item several weeks ago. I was a bit intimidated to use it. Today I decided today was the day!! I am sorry I didn't use it sooner! I cut 6 yards of five inch squares in no time. I highly recommend this product as I am a new quilter and the learning curve was minimal.

    I've had this ruler for some years now and absolutely love it! I use it more then any other ruler I own! I have been wanting to make a Lone Star quilt for some time now, but have been a little hesitant due to the triangles, etc. (I am using Jordan Fabrics Lone Star quilt pattern, here on UA-cam) and as I was cutting the 3 stitched strips into triangles... after the third set I realized the angle in the upper right corner! The strips fit in it perfectly!!! I hadn't noticed that before! So glad I found it out early in my cutting and not at the end, lol! I highly recommend this ruler for any quilter. March 2, 2021

    Love this ruler, but what does the dash line on the edge next to the 0 line do? Thanks

    • @JuneTailorInc
      @JuneTailorInc  6 років тому +2

      Hi Toni,
      The dotted line is for sub-cutting 1/4 inch increments. For example, if you wanted 1/-1/4" strips, you would cut in 2-1/2" increment slots. Slide the ruler so the left cut edge aligns with the dotted line. Cut in the 1-1/2" slot and then add 2-1/2" there forward to cut the 1-1/4" strips.

    Is there a way u can cut in 1/4 inch increments? Like 2.25 inch strips for example? Thank you

    • @JuneTailorInc
      @JuneTailorInc  5 років тому +3

      Hi Toni,
      Yes, you can cut in 1/4 inch increments. Start by cutting twice the width of the finished desired strip. So for 2.25" strips, cut 4.5", 9" and 13.5". Carefully lift the ruler and align the dashed 1/4" line of the ruler on the left edge of the fabric. Then sub-cut the previously cut strips in half by cutting in the slots marked 2.5", 7" and 11.5". We also have a chart on the instructions for our Shape Cut PLUS ruler. Here is a link to the instruction sheets on our website if you would like to download that. www.junetailor.com/instruction-sheets

      Yes, I have to remember there are 1/2 increments ( my prob) however turning to go crosswise I have not been able to keep the fabric in place

    Can I use this to mark the fabric instead of cutting the fabric. I need to sew (5) 2” casings across 5 yards of fabric and marking and measuring that out is very time consuming

    • @JuneTailorInc
      @JuneTailorInc  6 років тому

      Hi Anela,
      The Shape Cut Ruler has very fine slots, to accommodate a rotary cutter blade which keeps the blade straight for perfectly straight cutting. Unfortunately for your purpose, these very fine lines will not accommodate any size of marking tool or pen.

    • @aneladekoning456
      @aneladekoning456 6 років тому

      Sadly thats what I thought:( Do you have any suggestions?If it was for only one project of this nature I wouldn't mind just enduring the pain caused by the tedious time consuming task, however I have 3 skirts about every 2 months to make and it is extremly time consuming. Mahalo for your quick response to my message!

      Hi Anela,
      We do have a product called "Grid Marker" that may help. It has marking slots 1/2" apart with a total width of 10". The slots are 8" long and wide enough to accommodate most fabric marking pens, pencils and markers. Perhaps this is a tool that would work for you. Here is a link to the product on our website. store.junetailor.com/store/p-38-grid-marker.aspx
