I'm loving this idea that the fire giant got sick of our bullshit and is now standing up for himself

@@gojiwarrior2479 Same I always try bring positivity for my team whenever I play, so when they get a kill I say you rock or nice job to encourage team work. It's always that one person who toxic for no good reason and tries to call everyone out but themselves for simply losing a match. We can't always win every match and I don't expect to win every match and I don't understand people who has that mentality being toxic especially towards new players.

The fun thing about Surtr is that he's the only god you can use VGS to command your team to attack directly by using the 'Attack Fire Giant' command

To have Anubis weighting Surtr heart agains the feather and casting the judgment was sick
First time. Second time just lost it's weight and took it from the first one.

Very happy to see new gods in a cinematic for once, that was a very cool "realistic" way of showing Anubis' in game abilities. More of that please! I love me some Bellona but she's very much overused imo, in both the cinematics and the story.
The way his mummified ability is shown is actually cooler than in game.
Bellona is Smites Mascot bud. Thats why shes always used. Shes the ICON of Smite.
@@xDavid831 I always comsidered Thor to be Smite Icon. The logo itself depicts Mjolnir and him fighting Surtr would make more sense. I don't understand why they switched to Bellona.

This is so good on so many levels, Anubis being good at shredding FG, how the Anubis pulls FG when the rest of the team shouts NO, and the dangers of an *_unsecured_* FG, even ignoring the how it honors the roles of some of the gods in their own myths. Looks sick as hell, hats off to the team behind this one

I’ve run it like a dozen times over the years in jungle practice, but a fully fed and built Anubis(potions and buffs included) with proper relics can ABSOLUTELY annihilate a fire giant in a single ult for the first while it’s out, and even by the time it’s empowered it’d still be enough to severely wound one.

Wait, as a playable god wouldn’t Surtr probably be at least a smidge _weaker_ in pure stats at least? Or will he be like Ragnaros or Deathwing from Heroes Of The Storm and function like something of a playable raid boss?

I hope this paves the way for more monster designs for gods. Not enough Cthulhu, Jorm, or Fafnir (Dragon Form) style gods in the roster.

I just want to ask your opinion on something, what would you think, if they gave surtr a unicorn skin and his ultimate is him transforming into planet mode to crash down and attack enemies.
I've watched this repeatedly: it's AMAZING. The idea of the fire giant standing up for himself and other 'monsters' is brilliant.
I have been wanting him for years. He look amazing.
The cinematics are always amazing well done, and I love the idea behind Surtr being over our nonsense.
I wonder if this will be an actual giant size like Jorm or if they are going to shrink him to make him easier to build from a design perspective.

@@TrollographyStudios well according to wikipedia after Ymir was slain his body became the world, and his brows alone were what became Midgar (earth). So I guess relative size shouldn't even be a consideration
@@TrollographyStudios This is correct in a way, but it shows how interpretation can lead to better gameplay. Cthulhu in H.P Lovecraft isn't even that massive in the text and illustrations. He is only the size of two large Man o' Wars. The giants in Norse vary from either mountain size or slightly 8 ft height. Thor and Loki, who are half giant, are supposedly over the height of 8, making them exceptionally bigger than normal humans, which, in the natural definition, a giant. However, Ymir is a giant in the mountain size. Ymir is literally translated in runic language "mountain of ice". But here's the funny thing about interpretation, Surtr has never been mentioned to be the size of a mountain, nor has his height exceeded Thor's or most of the Jotunn. He is maybe about 6 ft, 7ft, maybe 7 and a half, but has never been one of height. This is because a giant isn't based on their height in Norse, but their race.

Blows Leagues of Legends cinematic this year out of the water. League is my main game but I've I've been off and on smite since beta. Happy 10 years! I will def have to give him a try when he comes to live.
I literally was talking to my friend about what norse gods I would like to see in this game and it was thruud baldir and surtur and u give me this teaser a couple hours later thank u smite u have made me so happy 😊

It was, Madam Brigete. But there was some serious technical issues regarding her, so they have indefinitely delayed that release, and instead just moved on ahead with 2023's planned releases.

@@TheGreatDanish not indefinite in the season 10 god trailer it has surtr then a Mayan god then basically gave her away with a skull and voodoo themed decor and a rooster on a plate which is her symbol so she’s going to be the third god release.

@@ReyaLight Reading from other comments. Apparently it was Maman Briggite from the Voodoo pantheon, but they had some internal complications regarding her, so they decided to move forward with the 2023 line-up.

Based off the trailer I’m going to guess the fire giant is a warrior not a guardian since he isn’t really protecting anyone and I think it would be cool to have his abilities be a counter effect like they show in the trailer. Like how Kuzenbo can reflect dmg it would be cool to see a god that is counter effective

I’ve always wondered who the FG was and it’s backstory! It’s nice they gave him a role and finally a playable god as Surtr! So sick and really is great character development.
