I sure wish someone would make a game that can be figured out without a guide. I'm getting tired of going to the guide because I'm stumped and find out there's no rime or reason for what I missed. I'm 60 years old. I won't live long enough to finish this game without the damn guide.
It can be done, just be patient. It took me like 3 years to go through Riven.
Theres tons of games that can be figured out without a guide, no? Part of the fun of this game is its complexity. It is testing your patience, so your remark says more about you than about this game.
Al the teleporting would have been mind-numbing without this guide! Thank you!

I got stuck in some bug where I couldn't enter the mine cart. Lost hours of gameplay but was able to start over and get to where I was in 22 minutes thanks to this!
I do like some of the walk throughs to have commentary because if you explain it then it makes sense. TY for this video.

Looks like activating the Easter Egg (Thank you Backers) Causes the wood sphere to revert back to stone. Unless I missed something. I used the machine went to the mine house, saw the projector screen message.. Turned around went directly back and its become stone. Didn't press anything.
Good you made that tutorial. What I don't like is that you don't explain how you get all the security codes for all the doors. For instance, the code for a white house backdoors is simply this house address but backwards ;) You should include those informations in this tutorial
Agreed! Like where do you get the code to the mayor's office?
Turned my dam-bridge too early, had a hard time getting to the teleport-wall on the other side. If ayone is at that point, head past the trains and backdoor to the home and along the path there should be a sidepath to a teleport-wall that if I remember correctly takes you to the other side of the turnbridge.

Found the game in may Steam library yestarday, didn't remember buing it, but it looked nice, I liked puzzlers, can't be too long, right?
At first went pretty easily, well, that will be a breeze, I'll be finished in no time.
Started playing, got stuck (didn't realize the dam can turn either way and had the right side up), gave up, decided to find a walkthrough, found the solution here, carried on, still, I'll finish this soon, after all, there's just that part beyond the dam, how many puzzles can there be in this area?
Got stuck on the train, didn't catch on that you have to hold that one switch until the tube fills, carried along a bit without the walkthrough a bit along with it wherever I didn't have an idea what to do next (forgot I sent the excavator scoop down - did it from the outside as I think I didn't click right from the inside to get it going, so i thought it has to lower to be used for something below later and then forgot all about it) but hey, there doesn't seem to be much more things that I havent used here so how much more can there be, after all?
Got to the point with the seeds - managed to find them myself and try them out, but hey, you can't go far here, I guess it's the end areas where you just do like two things and they will get activated based on progression in the main desert area, right?
Ran out of ideas so started following the walkthrough beat by beat, turned the bridge beyond the first seed (didn't notice the cog at first), carried on, and the more I ran around that world the more I realised this is not going to be a short game, as probably both these worlds are just as big if not larger X D
Decided to finish for the day... around 5 am.
Gotta say though, playing you can see making this game was a lot of work, and the visuals and landscapes are stunning!

Edit: Aaand there we go, 100% trophies in around 3 hours and 40 minutes. It took a bit longer because I had to eat and also because I wanted to view the scenery quite a few times. I took some beautiful screenshots during my playthrough as well.
Glad I could help! 3 hours and 40 minutes is pretty quick, previous gen loading screens would last 2-3 minutes 🙂

Don't see you explain how you get code 406 or 6341
406 is in the mailbox of the white building when you first arrive in the area, 6341 you can find in the garage with the license plates. I never showed the location as it is all the same.
I think the 6341 was the number of the house with the white picket fence backwards - somwhere along the way you'll find a note which says that the code has to be reset and that the lady's house number backwards should do fine for that purpose. Proud of myself to have worked that one out on my own, lost patience and found the walkthrough not long after that ; )
how the heck does he know all of those codes? I’ve watched 3 different walkthroughs and they all just plus in the code to get into the mayors office but never say how they figured it out. same with the code to get into the white house.
I was in the same boat as you about the code to get into the mayor's office. No clue!
As for the code to get into the backdoor of Farley's house, the clue is on a yellow sticky note that says something to the effect of change the code to the reverse of Farleys address.
The code for the mayors office is part of a puzzle, the projector in the house has an alien pattern on one of the slides, you take that pattern and you draw it on the alien device in the garage with the number plates and it translates to 406.
The Farley back door code, is on the front of the Farley house on the right pillar. As whodatdere highlights there is a clue to reverse that number.
I did not include them in the video as they never change.
Hello, and thanks for doing this walk through. As one of the original players of Myst, I'm drawn to the game by the puzzles. Knowing the puzzles beforehand sort of ruins the game. I watched the first couple of minutes of the game in your video out of curiosity and then I bought the game because it looks great! I'm not going to watch anymore so I can enjoy the game myself. I am curious how long it took you to go through and learn all of the puzzles? It will probably take me a long time to get through it. Thanks again.
Ed Godfrey id say about half a day, with some support from a some text guides in other languages on steam when I got stuck. I will say, the game doesn’t give you a lot of hints, take the time to explore, use the crystals around the area to the area to get the back story which helps. Other than it is enjoyable, they could optimise the load times but if you enjoyed Myst then you should enjoy this.
@@AchievementSquad I agree, I did use your walkthrough a bit more than I would have liked, but that is just because endless teleporters and maze alignments are sort of tedious. There are numerous ways to rearrange different parts of the different worlds, but you can still get around even if a path is closed. The enjoyment is in solving the puzzles. As far as loading times, I am using Raid 0 and it did seem to load slightly faster than your video shows your machine loading, but it is a fresh install on a new machine. The puzzles need more clues IMO, or a clue mode. Something where you can try for awhile to solve a puzzle, but if you are just stuck, there is a solution to help you. It's one thing to solve a puzzle, it's another to have to wait for the game to run it's program over and over again while you wander around the map waiting for each puzzle piece to do its job. Fun game though. Better than just about any other game out there. It makes you think.

I was following your tutorial just fine till the maze thing. I messed something up. I tried to go back but couldn't figure it out sadly. I made things worse and I didn't really wanna do all that teleporting again so I gave up.

You do not have to get out of the cart you can flip the track switches while in the cart.
The flying bug is also giving you a bit of a hint that you are going th right way.
Great guide, only one question. How many times did u complete this game to memorize every turn and teleport lever to pull?

followed guide exactly but the easter egg message doesn't show on screen, i'm confused, i don't want to start game again cause it's half way through the game.
Eden North Weekes the Easter egg message is linked to the box of infinite complexity, the box that is floating and falls down. If you are at the projector backtrack to the previous teleporter, take the lift up, take the right hand stairs down. On the machine enter the code :- 00000000000000001017

Keep in mind there’s really only one miserable achievement, the weapon of mass destruction. Everything else you can go back in free roam after you complete the game and pick up what you missed.

So apparently the valves didn't connect properly. They were all connected before, but I had to reconnect them for some reason

James Terrell the license plate puzzle is randomised but fairly easy to solve. The rest are the same :)

Michael McGrath I’m on the One X and it runs at 4k. My capture card however only runs at 1080. Hoping to get a 4K card soon.
AchievementSquad Are you absolutely sure the game itself is 4K and not something like 1440p? Usually the Xbox One X will upscale games to 4K externally but the game's internal resolution will stay the same. I already have this game on PS4 Pro which only runs out at 1080p I believe so I'd really like to know if the resolution difference is enough to justify buying the game again.
Michael McGrath one the Microsoft store it states 4K Ultra HD and Xbox One X enhanced. I had double check what these meant:- www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/xbox-one/xbox-one-x-enhanced-list sounds like it is.

You are providing door codes, but where are you getting those codes in the game?

The first door code is obtained by reading a letter outside of the big wooden white house, This gives you the house number, a not inside the workshop by the laser explains to you it is the house number in reverse.
The second code comes from a puzzle in the garage, you enter the big White House first and the solution is to the left of the projector screen. You enter that into the puzzle and the code appear on the device to your right.
Talk about mind-numbing! My 20 digit number for the 'Box Of Infinite Complexity" was S1632130231210201690 That's right the first number is an "S" !!!!!! any ideas what to do with that?.. The Russian letters do not enter .. only numerals .. I'm so not going to start the game over... Sigh!

How did u get what letters stands for what number?
You know how old phones had physical buttons, and only as many as there were numbers, so when texting to get to "c" you had to press 2 three times? Well, the game doesn't need you to press three "2", but just wants you to substitute the letter with the number you'd press to write out that letter. Not sure if I explained it right, but if you google for example "Nokia 3310 keyboard" and look at the number buttons you'll see what I mean.

I stopped unlocking achievements after the Easter egg achievement
Xbox achievements were down last night potentially linked
I assume that’s the reason why as well, I’ll retry on Friday if they aren’t unlocked by then
Achievements seem to be unlocking again but the WMD, the bleeder, and the 2 endings achievements didn’t pop so I have to play again to get the WMD achievement but thanks for responding to my first comment
