I love the Free Range pig farms, that way pig farming is what nature intended. the meat is much better quality and it tastes much better. pigs don't belong in small pens like they do in Europe.
They actually made the entire market around small pens. The sausage, fat is all different and pointless with pastured pigs. We just slaughtered one and it had at most about 3l of fat and this did not work out well: hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C3%B6p%C3%B6rty%C5%B1 sorry, I don't know the english name for that, so I linked Wikipedia. That means the traditional cookie and other things are also impossible.
We started raising 4 kunekunes piglets in our forest 8 months ago. We want to become organic certified and appreciate all your content and advice! 😎 STOC
Costs, regulations, etc. If you too successful some local politicians might try to pressure you for a piece of the pie. In worst case scenario you will be deemed as anti environmentalist, and ordered to slaughter all your livestock. Welcome to 2023. Unless you are tied with gov it's gonna be hard.
Problem that alot of farmers have with free ranging pigs is the huge amount of piglets deaths, the sows often crush the babies, cold nights or hot days kill them and the amount of predators there are to make a quick meal of them. For alot of farmers it's just not worth the risks.
@@laneto1640 it's not trial and error though. Farmers can't control the weather. Predators are a huge problem from falcons, bobcats, coyotes, pumas etc that you can't always fence off from nor do all farmers have the money to spend on 6ft fences with hot wire and a cover. Sows do often squash their piglets because they can't turn their heads to look before laying down. Back then out of the 12 pigs born it was lucky to have 5 survive. Even if you look at feral pigs out of the 12 you're lucky to have 3 survive. But with pigs that are kept confined the death rate is greatly lowered. Which makes it more worth it to the farmer to spend less money on fencing and have more live piglets that will reach adulthood.
Intending to raise pigs and raise them free range. Just bought six piglets. Thanks for the inspiration. Fiji 🇫🇯
The colors of the crops are stunning

I'm about to start doing this style of pig farming. Cheers from Texas.
Higher the welfare, higher the production.
Watching from Nigeria 🇳🇬
This is how ALL animals should be farmed. Anything less should be outlawed.
I'd love to agree, but consumers need to demand it, and consume less for industry to change. It takes more resources to farm this way.
Wow this is one of my dream farm, a free-range pig in a large area

New subscriber from Philippines
thats so cool i love bio farming only this farming should be allowed❤
Probably smells a lot better than a conventional pig farm...
I would like to ask do you just let the pigs just eat what grows from the ground or do you feed them grains and soy.
I will try it in philippines because my piggery is not organic. I like open range less expensive
What is the name of the third farm?
🌿 "Watching 🐖How is pork processed? pig processing factory 🐖 has been so enlightening! The process is incredible. What did you learn? 🗣

Why don't the brain washing anti farming trash media show this good farming production.
Because this is the extreme minority of pig farms lol. Most are not this cosy.
The pig was fed with commercial feeds??
Hi animals lover...frm karnataka banglore.....
Do you have less rooting up the land with free grazing ????
As opposed to being housed indoors? I'm thinking the answer to that is a solid no.
Danke ,danke ,danke.Die Schweine fühlen sich Sauwohl
i am very inspired,
❤❤
Can u raise them with sheep?
I live on country acreage, and would like to learn more about pasture raised pork.
Are free range boars castrated?
Ours are not. But we slaughter them before about 8 months of age. And they still have that wild game taste.
What are the disadvantages of free range?

The effort and subsequent price? Hmm
Thanks for video. Please, how much vinegar in water?
Irrigation of these fields is a big thing in dry country Australia, as are the snakes. Wonder how the pigs cope with that...
they will eat the snake
