I don't really car for this show cause I rather binge Ninjago instead I only watch this to see the 2-D colorful animations and yeah it is okay, not bad the MK's can be annoying a lot, Macaque is a bit to much of a "To cool for school" act and yeah, That is all I have to criticize. But still real good animation.

I knew he was fighting cancer initially because he voiced Dr Maruki from Persona 5 Royal but I didn't know he voiced Macaque until it was revealed he passed away. A week after the Season 3 finale. I'm going to miss him in Season 4. Even if they recast Macaque's voice, it wouldn't be the same. And considering Macaque's popularity the chances of him not appearing in season 4 is up to debate, if he doesn't appear the most we'll probably get is a short bit of dialogue explaining that he's travelling the world searching for himself or something. Considering he had a bit of a redemption arc going on in Season 3. I still feel like there could've been more as Macaque doesn't seem to entirely believe that he can be good (when he caught cat girl after LBD seperated from her says otherwise). And Lego seriously needs to release a Macaque and a Sun Wukong Lego keyring. Like, I have gotten Red Son (which was only thing sold on the Lego store at the time, now its sold out last I checked) and MK (from Amazon because they stopped selling them on the Lego store). But I want my Monkey Dads. And having a Macaque Keyring would mean a lot.

That’s why when he was telling him about “the hero and the warrior” and why he even came up to mk at the end of the play to ask him how he felt about it and got upset that MK saw himself as the warrior and not the hero. Especially when MK hadn’t noticed Macaque kidnapped his friend and MK didn’t notice. Then he beat mk up, decided he leaned his lesson, frees his friends and leaves. You mentioned how Macaque love to projects on others, well, he projects Wukong on mk during season 1 and 2. It isn’t until late season 3 and 4 that he starts seeing mk as his own person and season 4 when he realizes mk and macaque have the same fear: Mk ending up like Wukong.
Monkie kid is that show where there’s no character that I hate. Every single character has something loveable about them. Monkie kid has such good writing and I’m so glad tiktok put this show on my page. I don’t know what Id do without it ❤

I'm so glad I found this show, there are so many things, elements, characters that I love in this! I was literally so happy when I found Red Son as a new kin! At first i saw Edit on tik tok about Macaque and MK, so I wanted to watch it but there wasn't dubbing in my language so I left it for like.. 2 months, but then I came back to it and watched Pilot on English (I know English very well but I prefer shows in my language ofc), and I watched all seasons and became a member of this wonderful underrated fandom.
When I really get into a show, it’s all I can make fanart for. And that happened so quickly with Lego Monkie Kid. It’s been in my brain for months now, and it launched me back into Lego Ninjago as well. 😭😂 Love the video, I really hope more people start talking about this, now that it’s becoming available in the states and other places.

I just found your content and I’m so glad I did. This show is crazy underrated and I tell people about it and I’m like “ok it sounds silly when I say Lego, but TRUST ME when I say it’s so good 😭”. There isn’t much negative I see with the show. Other than I want more 😄 Even characters I was neutral at the beginning have all grown on me.
Just a warning: The second and third seasons are locked behind amazon kids +, i will post the links of the seasons if asked. I havent found an actual in order episode-by-episode playlist, but the pilot is on youtube.
I watched the show recently (literally I finished season 4 today lol) and I can’t stop thinking about how Sun Wukong shares A LOT of similarities with Rose Quartz. They’re both complicated characters, good people who are EXTREMELY flawed and the consequences from their actions end up affecting everything and everyone around them. I genuinely love that kind of characters and I could make a whole essay about it.
I feel like Wukong isn't anywhere near Rose's level of flawed though. He's got some issues, but he isn't really as bad as he's made out to be, especially not by MK's squad. Half the things they hate him for aren't even actually true canonically, most of their criticisms are based on misunderstandings. If you ask me, Wukong is a great mentor on most days, he cares a lot about MK and priorities his safety. One of the things Mei "called him out" for was always leaving MK to figure out everything on his own and putting him in danger, but what she doesn't know is that a) Wukong has never sent MK to fight somebody he didn't think he couldn't handle, thus telling him to "sit this one out" with the Spider Queen or the Lady Bone Demon, and b) Wukong has kept an eye on MK to make sure he's alright, like in his first fight with DBK. From her POV, Wukong told MK and his buddies to deal with it and didn't care enough about MK's safety to help, since they usually care a lot about the power of friendship, unlike Wukong who likes to work alone. She didn't see that Wukong was flying around as a bird to make sure everything went well against DBK, she just thought he was back home. To her, it looks like neglect, but she doesn't really know how involved he is. She couldn't have known, so I'm not holding this one against her, but she's still kinda wrong. Pretty much the one flaw they were right about was Wukong's communication issues. He has a habit of lying by omission a lot, which he has been trying to get better at in Season 4. There are some times where they take this mistrust like a step too far (like Pigsy suggesting Wukong lied that he needed to map to begin with, which actually kind of got on my nerves, because they needed the map for Nezha's ring, so Pigsy was just lying at that point, and MK didn't disagree). Actually, a lot of the mistrust they have for Monkey King was based on how he was way back in the day. The whole point is that Wukong has grown since then, but all they know about Monkey King the recluse is that he sends MK to fight the bad guys, he lied about going on vacation, he wasn't helping out on their search for the Samadhi Fire (which I call bull on), he was a pretty bad dude back in the day, and he didn't tell them about the fourth ring until it was too late. They were also kind of hypocrists about Wukong's lack of a "real plan", but that's a whole other thing.
@@whoasked3961 I think they’re pretty similar for multiple reasons, not only flaws, and I don’t think they’re bad persons (I don’t believe in all that bs if I’m honest). In my opinion they’re both portrayed as flawed heroes, because at first Wukong is put in a pedestal on the serie, everyone has that idealization of how he was. But throughout the serie that concept of him as a this perfect hero is slowly falling apart due to the mistakes he makes (because even if isn’t as drastic as the ones Rose made, they’re still a important to the plot, and have an effects on the other characters negatively or positively). Which something similar happened to Rose, she was portrayed as this perfect hero, but we all know how that didn’t turns out to be true. Both are extremely secretive with their past, never addressing it until is already too late (In Wukong’s case is his story with the brotherhood, the Sadmahari Fire and Macaque, which all those stuffs were important stuffs. Rose’s case is literally her whole ‘Pink Diamond thing’, Lion and Bismuth). And of course we can’t forget how half of Wukong’s mistakes fall over MK’s shoulders just in the same way Steven carried her mom’s mistakes, even if that wasn’t exactly Wukong/Rose intentions. (I can also argue how Steven and MK are extremely similar, both live to fulfilled certain expectations). Not only that both Wukong and Rose are people avoider in their own way (Wukong isolate himself, while Rose is surround around people but she doesn’t share anything related to herself) Of course they are multiple things different, for example the fact Wukong is alive and can learn from his mistakes, while Rose is technically dead (or present to redeem herself). Maybe I’m over analyzing, but it’s fun do that once in a while (I want to make a whole essay about this lol). Sorry for my bad English, this isn’t exactly my first language.
My BFF originally showed me this show when season two came out and the hype of the new seasons always brought me back. Season two was my favorite (RIP spooders) The animation was incredible and once the subs for season 4 come out I can't wait to make new characters with the new friends I made through this fandom! LMK is absolutely amazing
I love LMK but I'M LITERALLY SO NERVOUS THAT THE NEW STUDIO MIGHT MESS UP because a huge reason why I even bothered watching it is because of the animation. I'm not trying to be rude to the new studio but if they mess it up I'm scared I might drop it. I'm such a huge animation nerd and I love learning stuff about it so usually I watch shows with good animation to study it afterwards. It doesn't have to be great, it just needs to be good. I hope I didn't offend anyone with my opinion, I just really like good animation.
I think we should give them a chance :) and see how it goes! Flying bark didn't start out how the ended so it may take some time but also we shouldn't judge without seeing it yet!
I grew up with the classic Ben 10 series and it's one of my favorite shows because it wasn't a simple monster-of-the-week type show. While it did have that episodic adventure for a lot of the episodes, it had a main story that would continuously touch upon. I think that's why I love Monkie Kid so much. It gives off a similar vibe to it. And Ben 10 was pre-Steven Universe
Great channel! Love your energy. I took notice of Monkie Kid because of the Lego sets (some of the best ever, and I’m a Lego fan for 50 years now..). But then I watched the show - and was just blown away!! Have you seen the „making of“ on UA-cam („a journey to the east“ or something)? The Lego department in China were really hard with the American writers and producers of the show when they came up with the first drafts and demanded good work. But, man, did they all deliver in the end!! It’s a shame that you still have to go to such lengths to see the show. Why isn’t it just on every streamer on earth? It’s a freaking toy commercial, for freak‘s sake! And it just happens to be a masterpiece! Keep up the good work!

I just found your content and I’m so glad I did. This show is crazy underrated and I tell people about it and I’m like “ok it sounds silly when I say Lego, but TRUST ME when I say it’s so good 😭”. There isn’t much negative I see with the show. Other than I want more 😄 Even characters I was neutral at the beginning have all grown on me.

I watched the show recently (literally I finished season 4 today lol) and I can’t stop thinking about how Sun Wukong shares A LOT of similarities with Rose Quartz. They’re both complicated characters, good people who are EXTREMELY flawed and the consequences from their actions end up affecting everything and everyone around them. I genuinely love that kind of characters and I could make a whole essay about it.

I feel like Wukong isn't anywhere near Rose's level of flawed though. He's got some issues, but he isn't really as bad as he's made out to be, especially not by MK's squad. Half the things they hate him for aren't even actually true canonically, most of their criticisms are based on misunderstandings.
If you ask me, Wukong is a great mentor on most days, he cares a lot about MK and priorities his safety. One of the things Mei "called him out" for was always leaving MK to figure out everything on his own and putting him in danger, but what she doesn't know is that a) Wukong has never sent MK to fight somebody he didn't think he couldn't handle, thus telling him to "sit this one out" with the Spider Queen or the Lady Bone Demon, and b) Wukong has kept an eye on MK to make sure he's alright, like in his first fight with DBK. From her POV, Wukong told MK and his buddies to deal with it and didn't care enough about MK's safety to help, since they usually care a lot about the power of friendship, unlike Wukong who likes to work alone. She didn't see that Wukong was flying around as a bird to make sure everything went well against DBK, she just thought he was back home. To her, it looks like neglect, but she doesn't really know how involved he is. She couldn't have known, so I'm not holding this one against her, but she's still kinda wrong.
Pretty much the one flaw they were right about was Wukong's communication issues. He has a habit of lying by omission a lot, which he has been trying to get better at in Season 4. There are some times where they take this mistrust like a step too far (like Pigsy suggesting Wukong lied that he needed to map to begin with, which actually kind of got on my nerves, because they needed the map for Nezha's ring, so Pigsy was just lying at that point, and MK didn't disagree).
Actually, a lot of the mistrust they have for Monkey King was based on how he was way back in the day. The whole point is that Wukong has grown since then, but all they know about Monkey King the recluse is that he sends MK to fight the bad guys, he lied about going on vacation, he wasn't helping out on their search for the Samadhi Fire (which I call bull on), he was a pretty bad dude back in the day, and he didn't tell them about the fourth ring until it was too late. They were also kind of hypocrists about Wukong's lack of a "real plan", but that's a whole other thing.
@@whoasked3961 I think they’re pretty similar for multiple reasons, not only flaws, and I don’t think they’re bad persons (I don’t believe in all that bs if I’m honest). In my opinion they’re both portrayed as flawed heroes, because at first Wukong is put in a pedestal on the serie, everyone has that idealization of how he was. But throughout the serie that concept of him as a this perfect hero is slowly falling apart due to the mistakes he makes (because even if isn’t as drastic as the ones Rose made, they’re still a important to the plot, and have an effects on the other characters negatively or positively). Which something similar happened to Rose, she was portrayed as this perfect hero, but we all know how that didn’t turns out to be true.
Both are extremely secretive with their past, never addressing it until is already too late (In Wukong’s case is his story with the brotherhood, the Sadmahari Fire and Macaque, which all those stuffs were important stuffs. Rose’s case is literally her whole ‘Pink Diamond thing’, Lion and Bismuth). And of course we can’t forget how half of Wukong’s mistakes fall over MK’s shoulders just in the same way Steven carried her mom’s mistakes, even if that wasn’t exactly Wukong/Rose intentions. (I can also argue how Steven and MK are extremely similar, both live to fulfilled certain expectations). Not only that both Wukong and Rose are people avoider in their own way (Wukong isolate himself, while Rose is surround around people but she doesn’t share anything related to herself)
Of course they are multiple things different, for example the fact Wukong is alive and can learn from his mistakes, while Rose is technically dead (or present to redeem herself). Maybe I’m over analyzing, but it’s fun do that once in a while (I want to make a whole essay about this lol). Sorry for my bad English, this isn’t exactly my first language.

My BFF originally showed me this show when season two came out and the hype of the new seasons always brought me back. Season two was my favorite (RIP spooders) The animation was incredible and once the subs for season 4 come out I can't wait to make new characters with the new friends I made through this fandom! LMK is absolutely amazing

I love LMK but I'M LITERALLY SO NERVOUS THAT THE NEW STUDIO MIGHT MESS UP because a huge reason why I even bothered watching it is because of the animation. I'm not trying to be rude to the new studio but if they mess it up I'm scared I might drop it. I'm such a huge animation nerd and I love learning stuff about it so usually I watch shows with good animation to study it afterwards. It doesn't have to be great, it just needs to be good.
I hope I didn't offend anyone with my opinion, I just really like good animation.

I grew up with the classic Ben 10 series and it's one of my favorite shows because it wasn't a simple monster-of-the-week type show. While it did have that episodic adventure for a lot of the episodes, it had a main story that would continuously touch upon. I think that's why I love Monkie Kid so much. It gives off a similar vibe to it. And Ben 10 was pre-Steven Universe

Great channel! Love your energy. I took notice of Monkie Kid because of the Lego sets (some of the best ever, and I’m a Lego fan for 50 years now..). But then I watched the show - and was just blown away!! Have you seen the „making of“ on UA-cam („a journey to the east“ or something)? The Lego department in China were really hard with the American writers and producers of the show when they came up with the first drafts and demanded good work. But, man, did they all deliver in the end!! It’s a shame that you still have to go to such lengths to see the show. Why isn’t it just on every streamer on earth? It’s a freaking toy commercial, for freak‘s sake! And it just happens to be a masterpiece!

i freaking love the way that mk’s backstory was explained in s4, from the visions he kept getting with monkey king and the FFM stone to his conversation with subodhi, like GOOD GOD, THAT ANGST IS HEART-WRENCHING what with mk just crawling out of the earth and choosing pigsy as his adoptive dad and them eating noodles in the flashback GAHHH
it also makes me really sad about mk not really knowing what to do with his life after figuring out that hes not a normal human and probably a mystic monkey like SWK, and him feeling like hes going to hurt everyone by being around them
in Pitiful Creatures it amazed me how ink mk, whos BASICALLY HIS OWN THOUGHTS AND INSECURITIES, was able to pretty much traumatize him by bringing out the mystic monkey form and showing him all his past failures and villain fights, especially reminding him of the lady bone demon traumatizing mk in Minor Scale and in the s3 finale setting up all of his s4 insecurities with the “pursuit only leads to pain” remark

A few years ago I watched the first episode (rather than the 40 minute special) but never watched the rest til this year. I’d also watched some vids on macaque.
