Boy what I would give to be abale to find a place like that at my age it's hard to get out and do but still love it. I have the equipment to work the rocks but no sorce. I love that you are doing it with your kids that is something they will remember for the rest of their lives. For the last year or so I have been working with my grandkids to teach them the how to cut and polish rocks and stones but I can't go with them to teach them what to look fo in the field. So other than stones that I but we are stuck with local rocks. But it's all good Kids are ages boy 13 girls 12 and 10 hard to compete with cell phones...............Be well and be safe...Bill
Lapidary is just as satisfying as rockhounding. At least you are still able to work with the rocks. And being able to share it with family is awesome!!
you can buy paydirt bags with opals and other valuable gemstones that you can cut and polish, might be what youre lookin for sir.
@@tristinverret4499 Thank you fo the tip.But most of that stuff is junk even potch to plal with is big money be well and be safe Bill.....................
i respect you 🤞🏻 be safe
Baxter Harbor, great place to sit and watch the tide come in with the locals. Found many great specimens at Baxter Harbor. Great dulsing just up the shore from there also.
It's definitely one of the more beautiful spots along the Bay. Thanks for watching!
These sram agates are absolutely gorgeous!
Love seeing the boys get excited over digging for some rocks. It's cool the share this passion throughout the whole family. What a really cool area, the scenery is awesome. What a cool vein. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Yes, family hobbies are the best ones!
I loved seeing those boys out there with hammers! That was like a dream day for kids. Exploration and excavation. Couldn't be more perfect. The material was spectacular as always.
Yep!! They were "mining" as they called it!!
Baba ve oğul ilişkinizi çok sevdim. Zevkle izledim teşekkürler 👏👍
Such beautiful pieces!! I agree with you Jason, I love watching the boys having fun digging and discovering. Watching this makes me want to visit Nova Scotia even more (not just for the rocks, but the beautiful scenery). Looking forward to your future video where you slab these beauties!
Thanks Ange!! They definitely had a blast!!
You live in an Eden of rocks! it 'seems' the jelly here is me! Ha

Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Newly Subscribed...learned of you via Theo Kellison and Montana Rock Mom. Love your channel and great full for getting to go into the field with you!
I like the barnacles :)
I am from Ottawa Ontario, I have walk in the bay ,but had no idea that there was such beautiful stones right there under my feet beautiful would love a piece for my collection I collect seashells and stones.
Hi Tina. Are you from NS originally or have you lived here before?
I am amazed at your beautiful finds. I went rockhounding today with two of my grandchildren. I guess I should take videos. We are allowed to rockhoud in Washington state. We collect jadeite, nephrite, crystals, and whatever is pretty! But right now since jade is valued more than gold, diamonds and rubies we are concentrating on that. My grandson is only 8 but such a willing spirit and my granddaughter who is 4 loves to find good specimens. I'm afraid I've "infected" several of my others also at least one being only two. She keeps a pool on her back porch so she can show my daughter how pretty here rocks look when wet "just like grandma's."
My son Chase Loves Jade! He always talks about wanting to find some. Unfortunately we don;t have any in our neck of the woods.
So cool.
💯
You really have some amazing rocks over there. I can only hope to find something close to that on the US side. Maybe someday I can make it to over there and you can show me these beauties. I'm just in awe of how beautiful they are. Looked like the kids had fun climbing around too. Great video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Donna!! They had a blast! Stay tuned for the cutting vid next week!!
@@RockhoundingLife I look forward to it.
Yet ANOTHER great location for future exploration!!!! You guys really do get around. Lovely Seam Agates...didn't know there were so many different colours. Thanks for sharing.....I'm as excited to watch as your boys were to find.
Thanks Sydney!!! We try to get around to all our fav spots in the spring summer and fall. Thanks for watching!
* Love seeing you & the boys finding such great finds. Like their joy. that seam was amazing. Thanks for sharing.. There are so many fractures in some of those they look like they will fall apart while cutting..
Our pleasure!
Very cool stuff
Thank you!
Hi Jason, Always a vicarious thrill to watch you and the boys find fantastic local jewels. For a short time I am submerged in Nova Scotia basalt, seaweed and the smell of the ocean, waiting for the next beautiful stone to emerge.
Thanks Larry! This adventure was a fun one. It's one of the more beautiful locals along the Bay of Fundy.
Those jelly seam agates are totally awesome, I love variation in colors, some look good enough to eat. The boys were having fun looking for the seam agates. I would love to be able to go rock hounding there it looks so beautiful. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.
Thank you Robert! The boys had a blast "mining" these seam agates!!
Wow! They are so beautiful. I can’t wait to see them cut and polished.
Thank you!! Next week!!
Pretty cool agate. It looks like you have agate up there for the rest of your life in the cliffs and beach area. Can't wait to see them cut. I'm glad you and the family were able to have such a nice day and everyone got some. Be happy, safe, and stay healthy.
The Bay of Fundy is the never ending giver of agates! Always replenishing the rocks with every tide!! Thanks for watching!!
You are most fortunate to have wondrous geology that is surprising around every corner. I will need to make a trip out to Nova Scotia see if I can get out to look around.... One of the mobility challenged.... But I'm working through it
You are definitely right about that!
I have come to really appreciate seam agates. I used to ignore them before getting a saw. Now I'm actively looking while hounding. Cool stuff.
Seam agates are awesome for cutting. And they look great on a display shelf!! Thanks for watching!!
Very nice material.
Thanks Jim!
So cool that your kids can come with you!! Amazing seam agate. Wish we could see stuff like that! Love your chanel!
Thanks Joe!!!
Wow!! I would venture to say, that's a very unique geological situation. What a beautiful location.
Nova Scotia is a geological wonderland!! So much going on and so much variety!! Thanks for watching!!
11:45- looks like a nice thomsonite specimen
Yeah wasn't sure which Zeolite it was. Thomsonite is pretty rare in these parts but you can find it.
This place seems insane
WOW, WOW, WOW, maybe some day might make it up there. Would love to see and collect some. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Wow, just amazing geology! The seams are so cool! ❤️
Thanks Julie!!!
I admire your brilliance in the photography of this video 👌
Wow, thank you so much! 😀
New to this channel , subscribed straight away 👍. Some nice agate you found there,, and so, so good to see Father and sons out rock hounding together, absolutely brilliant.
Keep up the good work brother, looking forward to your nx video
Hi Scott!! Glad to have you aboard!
Super killer little sandwiches there! Can't wait to see them cut and polished!
Wow great day at the beach. You guys never fail to surprise me.😎
This is an awesome video! Looks like a blast being out there together. Beautiful material!
Thanks Isaiah! It was a total blast! The boys had so much fun digging the seam agates from the bank.
Nice😎
🙏
They are absolutely gorgeous, real treasure for sure
Thank you!!!
Land of the seams that Nova Scotia. Good video Jason, I loved the opening with the fog and the waterfall. Beautiful. I sure wish I had the tide come up daily and erode my basalt host!
Thanks my friend! The tide is a blessing and a curse as it brings us new rocks everyday but destroys them at the same time.
you can make nice cabouchon cut stones will look great and should bring a fine price = ?
We have a lot of nice material. Need to do something with it. Cabachons are definitely on the table!
these are some of my favorite of your finds !!
Thanks Nate!! The boys loved digging these out or "mining them" as they called lol!
Can't wait to see the material cut and polished!
Next week!!!!
Killer agates, I love that botryoidal zeolite specimen as well.
Yeah that piece was really cool and overshadowed by the seams but equally as awesome!!
Nice seams. You live in a beautiful location. Cheers!
Thanks Kenneth!
Love your channel! We love any kind of scavenger hunt, would love to get up in your neck of the woods one day to explore:-)
You definitely should! Thanks for watching!
Oh my word that seam at 8:40... holy cannoli! I am in awe... I would have to mute my audio 😆
The Bay of Fundy basalt is full of seams like that. It's really cool to find a new one.
I can’t wait to see the cutting and polishing video!!
Coming next week!!!
Those boys are real troopers. Soon you won't be able to keep pace with them!
Your right on both points! Thanks for watching Kevin!
Went here yesterday, gorgeous! And less than 20 min from home.
Yep its a nice little spot. The basalt features are awesome!
Wow the agates there are gorgeous!!!! Great video!
Thanks so much!!
My favorites! Seam agates! Since they seemed really fractured, how will they slice and polish? Ok, lol, you will answer that in another video.😊 Thanks! Love watching you and your boys!
They aren't too badly fractured so they should turn out fine. We will see next week!! Thanks for watching!!
Woooow
💯
You answered my question😀
😀
It’s beautiful. Can’t wait to see the cuts & polish.
Thanks Denise! Cutting vid out next week!!
That’s cool.I’ll be waiting.
Baxter's Harbour is such an amazing spot!
It's one of the great spots on the BOF!!
Gorgeous specimens!
Many thanks!
Omg I want to go. I'm just in New Brunswick here. ❤❤
You totally should!
Sweeet finds! I love that you call the seam chalcedony “jelly agate” - we find chalcedony limb casts that my husband and I call “jellies” too! What a great location, the basalt flows are beautiful!
Hey thanks! Most of our chalcedony that forms in seams is named _______ agate by locals. Agate is our provincial mineral in NS so it's thrown at everything. Easier to say than seam chalcedony. I'm guilty for the term jelly agate.
@@RockhoundingLife Oh yeah I agree, I think most rock hounds would call that seam agate, for sure! Jelly agate sounds better though 😁 Can’t wait to see it cut!
@@GeoRockNerd the cutting video came out this past Thursday.
@@RockhoundingLife Ah I must’ve missed the notification, thank you! I’ll go watch now!
Live in HALIFAX watch and go to some of the spots TY keep them coming
Awesome!! Always nice to have fellow bluenosers follow the channel. Lots more content to come!
I love seeing you teaching your boys geology thay will always take these memories with them.i love your channel but I will have to admit it makes me jealous I live in Virginia and will never see anything like these seems. But I still love watching you and your boys I'm hanging on the edge like get this one, this piece will break off easy..lol again love the videos keep safe and keep the videos coming please. I hope yall have a blessed day.
Thanks so much for the kind words!!! No worries there we will keep the vids coming!! Thanks for watching!!
Ok... At 3:30 I had to put it in slow-mo action... That seam is insane! And I can't get over the colors... Drool central over here 😄
It's some pretty unique stuff. I'll send you some in your next package 😉
@@RockhoundingLife 😃ummm... I won't say no to that! Heck yeah Jason! Thanks in advance!!! 😎👍
Wow, what did you say the name of that location is... Rockhounding Heaven? What an amazing spot with an incredible range of beautiful treasures! I can't wait to see some cut and polished Jelly specimens, :-)
Thanks Grant!!! It's a great location! Cutting video next week!
Wow, great outing guys!
Thanks Peg!!
I have enjoyed watching your adventures over the past several months! My wife and I are regular rockhounders that find some interesting rocks here in New Brunswick. We can't wait to get to Nova Scotia in a few weeks! We will be in the Aylesford area, and hoping to find some rocks of interest.
Thanks for watching!! If you're in Aylesford you'll be less than an hour to most of the hot spots along the Bay of Fundy!
@@RockhoundingLife The place we are staying is right by some cliffs, on the bay. I would love to find a couple of agates to put in my office. Would you mind if I emailed you with a couple of pictures of rocks I currently have? I would welcome your thoughts on what they could be.
@@KValleyNews sure no problem. Our email address is in the description of our latest video.
Thanks again for a Great video!!!! Amazing rocks and fun !!!
Thanks Karl!
Ohhh MY!!! Can you please take me rock hounding with you!!!?? I live in Az however I’m not against traveling at all!!!
Sure thing! Look us up if you're ever in our neck of the woods! 😀
@@RockhoundingLife awesome! Where are y’all located?
That's a wicked cool place... advocate has seam running for 100s of yards in the basalt fire agate and toffee colored stuff... 😃
There is some really thick stuff there holy moly...
I want to learn to facet some of the fractured meaty bits
That place has it all though... wow... thanks for taking us 😃
Lol that's a super hero haul... 👏
Those are going to be so cool cut and polished
Coming from an inland person…can I assume the high tide covers the kelpy rocks?
Yep. The Bay of Fundy has some very large tides indeed.
@@r.awilliams9815 Boy, howdy!
Yep covers all the rocks
Do you keep going back every year? I know you’re only allowed to take from the same spot every year so you just picked up from the bottom so can’t you come back every year to see if it’s broke yet?
Oh, I've heard some referencing to your channel because the meltologist refer to it.
😳
Wtf.. I would have lost it
First time I've seen a seam agate wind and wander around like that! I wonder how long it will take before that first white and colored seam is accessible
It would take a loooooong time. Probably a few decades! Thanks for watching!!
💎👍
great waterfall and mossy rocky cliffs
I would love to have a piece of that! Are you selling any by chance? I would buy if needed :) so beautiful and neat! I just found ya. So I’m a new sub! 👍
We have sold things here and there online but nothing formal, however we are going to start up an Etsy store before the end of the year so keep an eye out for that. We will announce it in an upcoming video! Thanks for subbing and watching!!
@@RockhoundingLife ok! I will look out for it! :)
I understand that agate is translucent chalcedony and jasper is opaque chalcedony, but what are you referring to when you use the term chalcedony by itself? All rockhounding channels that I'm subbed too do this and I'm curious and a little confused lol.
Agate is one of those loose terms in the hobby that get applied to a variety of different silicate rocks but technically Agate is translucent chalcedony but with distinct banding (layers of chalcedony).
When I use the term chalcedony and not jasper I'm referring to the stuff that looks like glass essentially. No banding and has translucency.
Hope that helps and that I didn't confuse you more!!
@@RockhoundingLife No you didn't lol, it's basically what I thought I just needed some clarification thank you.
Is the any natural resources that are without a doubt along the digby neck closer to st Mary's side that may be profitable? Have a property was told more than once if I strike oil or find gold the government will want to purchase it. Can anyone confirm of any profitable resources to be found along the southern tip of the neck?
More precise within the Freeport area? 😁
Profitable no
It is interchin that seem,
🤔
sea maggot sounds horrible.. why would you look for that?
