That place is magical! like walking through a time machine, so many agatized trees encased in limestone. thanks for showing this epic place, this was one of my favorite episodes :)

Wow! You and the boys really outdid yourselves. Great finds. I liked the sycad dollars the best. The show at the end brought out some beautiful details. Thanks for sharing you amazing trip. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
I was eagerly awaiting today's video as you always find gorgeous stuff on that beach and today was no exception! Some of those finds, I was feeling for your back Jason as they were quite the size! O had a good chuckle that Nolan's backpack is almost as big as he is! Thank you for the educational history lesson. It was very neat to learn about the different prehistoric vegetation. Thanks again for the great video Jason, Chase & Nolan. Have a great weekend!
Hi Jason, what a location with so much material. Great to see that the boys have the interest as well. Had a bit of a smile with the “butt rock”, how typical and enjoyable. Best pieces, the large piece at the end, the agate core piece near the end and that piece of Jasper. Would love to see that Jasper cut , I think it looks terrific. You sure you don’t have a trolley to pick up that trunk piece, it would be something else. Great day with the kids, awesome finds, it doesn’t get much better. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
That was a great day my favorite is the three foot cycad that you left behind. Beautiful agates in a lot of those limb casts. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.
Your guys work is very interesting, impressive, and peaceful. I love the rocks you finds, love the variety. I love learning, so thanks for that. I'm growing as an amateur geologists, which we all are.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!! Scotland has a lot of the same geological terrain as Nova Scotia (New Scotland!). They were once side by side when Pangaea was still together!
Really intressting video,, learnt a lot from your excellent descriptions of the mineral formations and the geological boundaries you and the boys found, gotta admitt loved the" butt stone" 😂😂. That cracked me up, (punn intended). Love this channel man!!!!!
@@RockhoundingLife it's definitely fire season and it's in full blast. Eastern WA has it way worse... I've been waiting for the smoke from OR and CA to cover us but so far it's missed us thankfully. Last year I was starting to get sick from it... Crossing my fingers it stays away... But hoping so many manage thru this that are affected worse. Jared and Sara may be experiencing it more than I... Been thinking of them. Thanks for the concern! I'll let you know if it changes to worse. 😉
@@MarlainaAtkins I can't imagine being worried about fires. We don't get too much of that danger here. What's amazing is that we have had air quality warnings because of the smoke and haze from the fires out west. British Columbia has it bad too. Crazy how the smoke travels that far all the way over to us here on the east coast.
Man you and your boys find such amazing things up there. I so wish I could co.e join you all some day on a hunt. That would be spectacular. I would so love to have a few small pieces of the beauties you find. Well until I can I'll just have to enjoy watching your videos. Always great to see.
We are planning on opening an Etsy store before the end of the year so that everyone can have the opportunity to get some of this awesome material for cheap! Thanks for watching as always Donna!!
Awesome. Let me know when it's up and running and I will definitely check it out and most likely make a purchase. Super excited now. Thanks for telling me. Can't wait.
What a cool place to go rock hounding! Amazing finds ! Those conifers and cycads are just as neat looking as those seam agates you guys find . So hard to pick which is the nicest , but the piece at 24:00 would b my favorite . AWESOME COLORS!! Keep rockin!!👍😎
You have the most beautiful beaches and rocks where you are! I love seeing you and your boys find all of the awesome stuff you find. I have got to make it to Nova Scotia soon!
Love the videos! Been watching for a couple months now. I am just finding the time to go hunting again & watching your videos really keep the interest going. I love watching you do the same from the young guns, the exact same way I became interested. I am in relatively the same area which is originally how I found the videos. Super educational in terms of geology & beautiful views that you cant get anywhere else except exploring the bay. Hopefully I'll see you guys out there one day! Much love and support :)
I have never seen anything like this! Every piece is amazing! So, the big piece of limestone with the multiple species of wood in it - can the limestone be chipped away to expose the outside of the limb casts or would that destroy the limb casts? Thank you for sharing your hunt. I enjoyed it so much, even the music.
Thank you so much!! Yes, if you wanted to take the time to chip away the limestone to expose the limb cast it could be done. The limb cast itself is entirely made of silica so it is much much harder than the limestone. The ocean will eventually remove the limestone in between leaving the round limb cast.
I probably could get them out but it just wasn't doable that day. I was contemplating going back a couple days after to move the big ones up to the high water mark so they wouldn;t get destroyed by the tide. Hopefully they survive until next visit.....if someone hasn;t gotten to them first!
@@RockhoundingLife Not often enough! It's probably my fave beach to hit. I attempted Scots Bay at low tide last Friday at 4pm and the windchill almost took me out!
The extreme tides make it look huge. I haven't done any fishing in quite awhile but when I was younger we used to jig Mackerel off a wharf not far from this location.
Is there anything left at Joggins? We went fossil hunting there in the mid 60’s. We used provincial EMR guides to find the beach. Also, we found smoky quartz and tourmaline on a highway cut from the Mahone Bay route to Bicentennial Drive. Is there a limit to the days to look or amounts of rock that a family can remove?
You can't collect fossils at Joggins anymore. There are strict provincial regulations against it. The tide reveals new trees in the cliffs every few years.
