Nice country and good roads too, and the Swedes know which side of the road to drive on ! ! !

some pretty easy looking logging roads, but it's about time that euros realize that long wheelbase trucks are more stable and much safer. Also, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a larger load is more efficient.
Better late than never. Cool Video.

The truck it self is a ordinary timbertruck (Volvo FH16).
The difference is that it has a longer trailer that makes it 98,5 feet long (and198 000 lbs) instead of the ordinary 78,7 feet (and 140800 lbs).

its outputs less axle pressure on the roads not less weight, and the
Long Vehicle sign is used with Vehicles longer then 25 meters up to 30 meters. so no, people wont be cought of guard because of the extra 5 meters of trailer they have to pass

Sounds logical that more efficient transports would result in more unemployment and lesser trees.
But it in reality it is not.
The market grows if the material get cheaper.
The fact of lower emissions can not in any way be a bad thing.

Nice rig! Yes, most of the states are working with 1950's rules. However, Michigan and Canada trucks are not in that group. Check out, "Michigan and Canada Trucks", and look at related videos under senyko.

A truck pulling a B-double ---------- as we call the trailer assembly. The B-bouble at the rear gives great stability. Reversing would present a few problems I think.

this is not Europe, this is Sweden! No trucks havier than 40 metric tons allowed in Germany. That the load per axle is much lighter on the trucks in the video does not to seem interest anybody -.-

less heavy trucks on our roads? it's the same quantity that's being transported - same shit.
overtaking is more dangerous because of the greater length of the truck. it should have the Longer Vehicle sign, not long vehicle - drivers are used to long vehicles as having a certain admissible length.

I meant the Truck it self, not the trailers, A short wheelbas truck is harder to controll (ex. Scania, volve etc.) but most Peterbilts and Kenwroth trucks are much longer. my truck has a 250'' wb.
but yes, as a rule the limit is 75 feet. there is a growing number of LCV (Long Combination Vehicles) however.

1/3 less trucks .... 1/3 less drivers, what are they gonna do about un-employed truck drivers ???

    • @senyko
      @senyko 9 років тому

In our area we don't have enough drivers, so we need each driver hauling more.

senyko In the U.S. even with high unemployment there always was since 9-11 plenty of trucking jobs and medical field jobs. Everytime I looked online there they were, yet I always heard there were no jobs, or no one is hiring. Since 9-11 there have been way too many job positions open and not filled, something needs to be done. Just because manufacturing jobs are lower does not mean there are no jobs at all, there are tons of other jobs available. Trucking and medical companies are always hiring.

If only the US transport industry were to catch up HALF as quick in the design and tech of their trucks eh? I find it highly ironic that an American passes such an idiotic comment based on an US mentality and way of doing things. This is Europe sir - we do things differently for a very good reason - much of it BECAUSE our transport industry is current with the times it operates in - unlike America which is still stuck in the 1950's..way to catch up yourself dude..

well it's nice that we instead of having 30 trucks can now only have 20 at the same effeciency but what about jobs if we say that there is now 300.000 truckers then with this truck we will reduce hte truck job by 100.000 and that 100.000 humans without a job.
