Endings like Devil's one in Tag or Kazuya's one makes me miss actual legit character endings that we used to have, and not the pile of shit we have for endings in tekken 7
In Tag 1 they used an edited version of his Tekken 2 voice (they did the same for the other chars who came back from that game, like Jun, Lee, Kuni, PJack, and so on), if you hear him in Tekken 2 he sounds more raw and scary.

Kazuya was around Jin’s age in this era of Tekken, Emotionless Passion era Kazuya had his own anime and actually got character development in a fighting game no scars no widows peak and that torn Gi, combine that with that beautiful purple suit and you get Prime Kazuya who was the original protagonist. I really hope they don’t Kill off Kazuya in Tekken 8 I don’t want Jin he’s boring Kazuya who has even less of a reason to be mad ugh boring
@@bryanc7094 back then when i was a kid i used to like Jin the most but the older i got the more i realised how much better Kazuya is as a Character. Jin is some cliche emo boy( i know his backstory is sad aswell) i just think Kazuya should've stayed the main protagonist.
@@MEM-brain Yes the mist step could sidestep if timed right and could both extend the range of his crouch dash (if you did the crouch dash late in the mist step animation) or make it quicker. a few other characters could dodge attacks through other means like Baek with his Flamingo stance or Armour King with his sidestep punch.
Yeah... I remember seeing Kaz hit that ws+2. Especially on characters with low hp like Nina or Hei, it was demoralizing. And when tagged with combo machines like Jin or Bruce, it was either near death or instant death. Despite having so few moves and few juggle options, Kaz was still a damage monster.
Also, his twin pistons wouldn't juggle any characters bigger than small Ogre. This game had a LOT of nuances. People hate on it in retrospect, but it's still one of the best games in the series.
I discovered the demon scissor combo with Kazuya back in the day. It's one of my favorite things honestly. It's necessary to hold u/f at the start of the demon scissor to make the combo work. Probably everyone know this now, but it was only after learning this trick with the demon scissor that I was able to discover the combo back then.
11:34 I would argue that it's not broken because it's super tough to do, especially in a real match situation. I'd say this is a good reward for an extremely tough technique. It's not like you can easily throw this come out reliably...
I always wish Kazuya had more costumes in TTT1. Like, don't get me wrong. I love the iconic purple boss suit or the karate pants as much as the next guy, but I wish that he had his P2 casual attire from Tekken 1 or 2, and the intro outfit with the black coat.
Kazuya is more of a footsie in this game. But his WGF will mess you up with its mid hit damage. Misread the wavedash for a hellsweep and you'll be sent flying with the WGF.
Kazuya in ttt is a halfway kazuya the PS1 - PS2, in PS1 is very strong but don't havn't enough combos and movements, hell sweep, electric right Split and some punishers. In PS2 including more moves and combos, but more agressive kazuya. Kazuya ttt is very very good (T2, TTT and T5)

Regardless of it's short comings and balancing issues I still think Tag 1 was a beautiful game. It's also the only classic Tekken people are still playing.
Tekken 7 needs a young Kazuya skin and his purple suit back Also, you should get TTT HD because it fixes Kazuya's fucked up voice so it's almost the same as Tekken 2
this was rough to watch you try the df2~wgf. you're getting mist step because you are doing forward, neutral to get close to king. if you dashed forward into df2, you wouldn't have been landing so many df2s off axis. also, ws2 can be escaped and was bitched about endlessly to where it was back to it's old property for T4. like the first hit of ch laser scraper, this killed those who didn't know.
He seemed to be ignorant of the fact that Kaz has a mist step (df~n). He would do a mini mist step each time he did a df+2, which put Kazuya off axis enough that the df+2 doesn't do a crumple stun. You have to be perfectly aligned for the stun to come out. Has nothing to do with clean hit.
Ogre had unseeable unblockables, extremely fast and longer range low, and guaranteed damage of above 70% off combo. AK had a dark upper and command grabs
Ogre and AK: Two of the biggest side steps in the game, crazy oki, great health. Of the two, Ogre has more health, better mixups, better punishment, and a stronger while standing game. Armor King had a sick crouch dash game, some strong command grabs, an 8 frame jab, and tricky long range launching whiff punish abilities (for example Armor King could do two or three back dash cancels to avoid Anna's uf+1,3, then land a quick long range Dark Upper). Feel free to check my channel for some high level Tag 1 Armor King matches.
You know, it's funny how young Kazuya looks in Tag, when, chronologically, he'd be 47 years old at that point. Then again, you could say the same for the rest of the returning Tekken 2 characters. Bruce, in particular, would be in his early 50s.
I think he said once that he holds it normally and binds R1=1+2 and R2=1+4. But that might be different if he's not using his main. Hold it whatever way works best for you. I bind all four of my shoulder buttons.

So an extrenlmely OP Kaz will always have the Top 4 ceiling below hei and below both Jins since 2001 this is how it is, too long to be coincidence.

Tekken 2 Kazuya had a true mid WGF and a standing safe Twin Pistons. Both had more range than the TTT1 versions too.

In the old games Kazuya's df2 is such a proper technical roundhouse gut punch. Really cool stuff. Since T5 he's got a more flashy telegraphed version.
