A much needed and profound linkage. Without much of an academic background, I have intuitively been drawn to many of these lights. A noble project, indeed!
I want to join your lovely and very extensive patreon page as i just realised you had it the entire time with all the online meet ups and stuff because it sounds so lovely, yet I find myself so intimidated to join it because i have almost no knowledge on these topics :c caught between excitment and fear of being behind everyone haha..
Hey, Ana; I totally get that. The community on Patreon is really committed to making this a place for all levels of learners. We're friendly and diverse (from middle-school students to retired folks, new learners and veteran readers). Snobbery doesn't get tolerated, haha. You're welcome to participate in discussions, to just sit back with your camera off, or to just use the Zoom chat. Whatever you're comfortable with. We'd be happy to have you join us!
@closereadingpoetry awhh thank you for taking time to answer💛 i've never really participated in something like that and experiencing many snobby people both in real life and online scared me away from forming my own opinions sometimes... I think it's time I change that :) I look forward to this course and upcoming discussions!!
Hey Adam! Thanks for all your wonderful work. I loved your survey course on English poetry. However, I am unable to access the American poetry course in its entirety on UA-cam. Has it not been uploaded for the public?
Hey there! Unfortunately, no; the videos were mostly seminar discussions I led over Patreon. I didn't write any lectures for the American course, so no content on UA-cam. But next year I'll post the lectures on here (but not the seminars/tutorials)!
What is the start date of this course? I would like to join but unfortunately I work in the evenings. Is it still possible to access the lectures and discussions, and how do I do so? Also, do we need to read the complete books presented in your syllabus, or will pdf's be provided of the exercepts? Thanks
First lecture is Jan 27th! More info in the syllabus link in the description. Some pdfs are provided but suggested hard copies are recommended in the syllabus!
Lurking in the formalist background, dating back to classical antiquity, the shimmering spectre of transcendentalism, hovering above the firmament

"tragically short"? idk - maybe so, but time does fly when you're having fun! Tempus fugit ergo carpe diem
I joined your Patreon, but I wish I could access the lectures once they have aired live.
You'll get the Zoom links beforehand, so I hope you can make them!
No Shelley?. Oh, the shock.
It is time for this octogenarian to catch up with the English literature neglected for too long! If I can keep up!

It'd be interesting if it wasn't just western poets.
A comparative lit. or global lit. course on the Visionary tradition would be awesome! That's just not my expertise.
