- As requested, tutorial for The Title Track by Origami Angel off of Somewhere City. Tabs available at tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/...
I love watching a 35 minute video to learn a 2 and a half minute song that's going to take me 3 months to learn 😂
I can definitely relate haha, been working on the live version of Neon on and off for a few weeks now and can only play the first minute or two. Good luck!
so true 😂
Dude best comment
8:30 i’m fairly new to guitar but i used to play cello but seeing you slide your pinky was just mind blowing to me
3:12 Tuning
4:19 chords
I'm grateful that you were thorough enough to briefly go over Ryland's guitar setup. I've been frustrated for months trying to figure out what that bass pickup in his Jag is and this is bizarrely the first time I've ever heard it actually mentioned by name despite it being arguably the most interesting/unusual thing about Ryland's rig. So thanks!
For those interested: it's called A Little Thunder. Mentioned at 1:45.
No worries! Just a heads up, currently the Little Thunder team is waiting on some supplies to finish the V2s, I’ve been waiting on mine since last October-ish and haven’t received it yet so if you order one it may be a while before you receive it. But I do hear that Ryland is also getting a V2 so if you want the exact sound it may be worth the wait.
@@shanehickman Good to know! Thanks a lot. Tab and tutorial are both top-notch, by the way. Keep it up.
Dude!! This is rad!! It would be awesome if you uploaded more videos like this, your covers are awesome and it’s so cool to see these absolute bangers deconstructed into what’s basically a private guitar lesson. Keep it up!!
just found this band. This is my fav song from them. thanks for this tutorial!
You are absolutely insane bro, I thought the song would be a lot harder, thanks so much man
Holy shit! Dropped right at the perfect moment. Thanks for this banger!
Origami Angel is amazing thanks so much for the tutorial, keep it up! You rock
Man, you deserve more than a like or a suscription
omg thanks so much! i could not learn this song by the tabs only and now im halfway thru the song now!! much appreciated man!
Glad it could help!
You should do more tutorials like this! This was hella helpful, and really inspired me to get back into playing more. Thanks a lot bro 🤝
Thank you!! Happy to help
ur tutorials are actually so much better than the ones on yt ... this should become the standard ..... ur tutorials really helped me learn this song (definetly didnt cry trying to get it right)
This is amazing bro!
Dude this is an amazing tutorial
Thank you!
After breaking 3 strings and watching this video multiple times over the course of 2 weeks I finally learned the song lol
Legendary video ❤
Thank you so much for this video
What a good guy
Oh my god you did it😌
I love you man
@shane dude.. You have a special ability.. I don't think I've come across a "teacher" like you.. Uhhh.. I don't know if you like this kinda of stuff, but please check out Beyond Creation.. Songs like "surface's ehoes" "fundamental process" "coexistence" or "omnipresent perception".. These guys are unreal..
hell yeah brother
let’s fucking go!!! thank u man
love u bro
Thank you!
i don't even play the guitar, im just watching this cause I'm stoned and i love origami angel lmao. something i realized while you were playing though is that it felt like you were intently staring at me lmaoo since you were looking right at the camera, its kinda funny when you start to see that lmao
🙏🙏
Is it possible for you to make a tutorial on Skeleton Key?
Holy shit it's so fucking hard BUT IS SO GOOD
Do you think you could do Escape Rope?
This is the only song that reminds me of Jank 😢
i lov u
thank you! also odd question but what mic do you use?
It’s an AT2020, which in my opinion is the best bang for your buck for starter mics. It seems to have a neutral profile to my ear.
@@shanehickman I can vouch for this mic
As a non-guitar player I decided to try this on acoustic and well I failed I guess I’ll just stick to the piano
D#a#d#ga#d#
THANK YO USO FUCKIGN MCUH OMG YOUR A FUCKIGN SAINT
can you link the video where ryland talks about his pedals?
great video btw
I’ll look for it, I think it was a magazine interview, not a video though
Found it! reverb.com/news/origami-angel-interview
are you getting his guitar tone from the free version of amplitude 5?
I personally use Amplitube 4, and also it’s not really his tone, just a similar distortion effect. If you really want to go for his tone, you should use 2 separate signal chains, 1 for the bottom three strings dropped and octave and 1 for the whole guitar. Then, the bass gets a whole bunch of processing separate from the guitar. You can dial in a similar guitar tone though in amplitube
@@shanehickman oh i completely missed the part where you said u used amplitube 4. I also didn't realise ryan's rig was that complicated. Thanks a lot for the info though i'll try to work out what you explained to me. Amazing video
@@JuanFelipeMedina What Ryland really does is use 2 separate signals. One signal going to the first three strings, the other signal going to the last three strings. With the first signal he connects a guitar amplifier, and with the thicker strings he connects a bass amplifier, that means that when he plays he can generate the bass and guitar sound at the same time. Hope this helps you!
that chord where you have to stretch the pinky is awful
What's that guitar? Looks so cool
Thanks! It’s a Fender FSR Blacktop, it’s the same as Rylands metallic surf green one but I’ve refinished it and modded it a bit. I added a roller bridge, and buzz stop.
What tuning are you using without the capotraste?
he’s in open d#
i pkay drums why am i watching this 😭😭
please skeleton key:(
JANKY??????
that’s what i thought
nevermind I cant get the tuning right and it sounds like shit whenever I try to play
Sorry you’re having trouble, from thickest to thinnest strings it should be: Db Ab Db F Ab db
If you need any more help just let me know!
@@shanehickman thanks bro
me too bro me too lmao
@@mentz_music6882 anything in particular that’s troubling you with the tuning?
When you refer to the strings do you call the low e the 1st or the high e the first?
Idk if you have or not but can you make a tutorial for 24 hr drive thru by origami angel?
