Had the great pleasure to spend several summers in Sarlat which is a beautiful town. Your video at 2:20 showed the window of our house which gave us a view of the street with two of the fine restaurants. Brought back many memories. It is worth a trip to visit Sarlat.

Monsieur, I have seen such a unique town for the first time. The color of stones are almost united. This is a interesting medieval town. They are very chic in one meaning. I’m fond of this town. I'd like to go there someday. And I want to take a lunch at that beautiful restaurant . Thank you for your nice work.

I used to live here and the place is packed during summers. You can barely walk! On the contrast, it's a ghost town during winters. I have fond memories of it!

Essayez également limeuil , saint leon sur vezere et même beynac c est somptueux. Sinon perigueux pendant les festivals en été c est complètement dépaysant

C'est le problème de Sarlat. La plupart des gens ne connaissent que Sarlat quand on parle de la Dordogne, alors qu'il y a d'autres lieux aussi jolis mais moins renommés. Hautefort, les gorges de l'Auvézère, Brantôme, Saint Jean de Cole, la grotte de Tourtoirac etc etc !

Rather early in the day I think - Sarlat gets "very crowded" mid morning, at times unpleasantly so. It is however a beautiful place.

The covered market in Sarlat was alright, but nothing beats the twice-weekly open air market in the square! I miss my saucisson-sec!

Hello Penny, thanks for your comment. I wasn't wearing those kind of boots, just normal outdoors footwear. Sorry for the stepping sound, the streets are quite narrow so the sound gets "enhanced" by the walls and stone floor.

Merci pour votre question ! Ma compréhension est que le quartier médiéval est essentiellement une ville touristique, avec peu de gens qui y vivent. La population de Sarlat est > 11 000, mais je pense qu'ils vivent dans la périphérie de la partie la plus ancienne de la ville.

Un bel exemple des traductions variées que peut avoir le terme anglais "ridicously" qui ne doit pa être systematiquemenr traduit par "ridicuement " sous peine de contre sens . Ici, la bonne traduction est " incroyablement ".

Hello Jim, thanks for commenting. I shot video suring the low season, I think it's a very seasonal place. Lot's of restaurants, shops and some boutique hotels. I imagine that there are a few people actually living in the old medieval town.

Périgueux est plus riche en histoire, je trouve que cette ville a plus de charme, surtout du coté de St Front avec ces ruelles médiévales et son coté renaissance. Sarlat, bof !!!!
Le centre médiéval de Sarlat est incontestablement plus beau que Périgueux !! Les visiteurs ne s’y trompent pas !

@@pipobob c'est plus renaissance avec une très belle architecture mais il y a aussi le coté gallo romain avec beaucoup de monuments et un joli musée. Périgueux est celte, Sarlat seulement fin mérovingien.
.beaucoup. moins "pourrie" par le tourisme... Sarla est très triste hors période estivale ou touristique..
