I got a diagnosis 4 weeks ago, and found your channel in trying to make decisions about my treatment. Yesterday, I watched the post-op Goldilocks video. Today was my plastic surgeon consultation, and he suggested the Goldilocks! Because I had found you, I knew what that was. I agreed to it, but was still hesitant. Then your video popped up, and now I'm more confident in my choice. Thank you for being vulnerable and willing to educate. I appreciate you.
Thanks so much for saying that it helped. It is a little scary for me to show my body so openly but I know I would have been so grateful for it myself. Glad it’s helping you!
Love your spirit and thank you for your videos. 1 year ago, I went through a bilateral mastectomy operation and I thought my life was over. Saw your videos and realized people like you are living proof that life continues and there is still beauty in each of us that has survived breast cancer. Thank you for sharing your journey.
What a touching thought--thank you so much for this. I have to give credit to my community of flatties for boosting my self-image and willingness to share and give back. Community is key. Let me know if I can connect you to the flat community where you are!
Thank you for sharing. My scars are still healing too. Your videos are so helpful to me to not feel alone. You are a beautiful woman, such a wonderful smile. I had a 4mm ILC lesion discovered in left breast with my dbl mastectomy 5/24/23 for DCIS rt side and widespread lobular hyperplasia bilaterally. I am still not decided on the AI meds. I took one briefly, was tough. Have yet to find a lobular spec onc near me, in FL. I lead a healthy lifestyle too. God bless!
I've just decided I'm going to have this surgery, now that I have cancer in the breast that didn't have it the first time. The first one was 14 years ago at age 54. It was stage I DCIS, and I had a lumpectomy with radiation, no chemo, and five years on estrogen blocking medication that made mr baldish before I'd gone gray. The radiation made my treated breast go from a DD to a B cup size Now I have invasive cancer in the other DD. Frankly I am looking forward to this. I was promised a matching "pair" at Kaiser, Walnut Creek, with no radiation, chemo, or estrogen blocking medication, or any future mammograms. I think I'm all in!! But I also think I need to watch your videos, before meeting with the reconstructive surgeon in a couple of days. Thank you SO MUCH for doing this.❤
My dear friend also went to that Kaiser for her treatment and surgery. Glad you can go without the toxic stuff this time. Yes, just do some research on "Breast Implant Illness" maybe. That's my top tip! Know before you go!
@@estrogendiaries I am SO glad to hear that. And I appreciate the tip. Out of curiosity and a general thirst for knowledge, I will absolutely look into "Breast Implant Illness". It sounds awful. Though I don't think I could have a foreign object sewn into me, unless there was a damn good reason. The very thought if it makes me anxious, but I know there are many women who do want these additions, so thanks again!
@@Elaine-w2s Yes, indeed. As far as I know, mastectomy and no chemo or radiation, but I have the feeling nothing apart from the double mastectomy is set in stone. Thank you!!
You are beautiful inside and out. Thank you for sharing. I’m supposed to have a double mastectomy due to 69% risk. I’m not sure what to do, but your videos are helpful. Thank you.
I’m glad you have time to say goodbye to your breasts like I did-so many miss that chance. I have to say that it’s not as bad in ANY way as I feared it would be. My dread was so unnecessary. I adore my new body, thanks to the flat community.
So, are you saying that I need to wait a good year to see scars healed? I did a Goldilock procedure in my left breast is still puffy and my right breast has gone flat. I’m a little disappointed in the outcome, but I do have an opportunity to go back for additional reconstructive surgery, which I’ll probably just do fat grafting.
Actually, I'd say it usually takes 2-3 years for total healing, but the incisions usually heal within a few weeks. Maybe you thought I meant the surgical wounds?

Hi! Would you mind speaking about if you have any pain (nerve pain) and/or numbness? Thank you so much for this.
Yes of course! Thanks for the suggestion!
