    Thanks for sharing this, I am also asymmetric after getting implants removed and I suspect that in reality most of us who are flat probably don't have the kind of optimal smooth closure that is typically displayed online as only a minority of surgeons have that level of skill and/or willingness to support those who decline implants.

      Yeah, I think we are seeing progress, but it is slower than it shd be.

    I'm 9 months out from a double mastectomy. I thought I'd wear prosthetics most of the time but I rarely wear them. It's just so much more comfortable not to wear them and a bra too. I was a little self conscious at first. I feel like I look like a bowling pin. But now I never think about it and really don't care if anyone notices. Fortunately no one seems to notice.

    Thank you for talking so openly! You are beautiful! I am about 3 weeks away from a double mastectomy with no reconstruction. I am also very petite and never had much there anyways, especially after 2 kids. Although I decided from the beginning I would go flat, I am starting to get pretty anxious! I went through head and neck cancer and finished radiation and chemo 3 yrs. Ago. And now this! Again Thank you for your videos they make me feel alot more confident by your support and kind words! ❤

    It has been 5 months since Mastectomy and I am now wearing pads in bras and this makes me feel memory and makes me feel a bit normal. Cheers D

    I’m three weeks post bilateral mastectomy, no reconstruction, and not planning to wear prosthetics. I would like to find a community of
    ‘Flatties’.

      You can find a directory of facebook groups for local gatherings of flatties on the website StandTallAFC.org here: standtallafc.org/find-flat-friends/

    Hi Kathleen I have just come across this video. I had breast implants after my mastectomy however I decided to have them removed. I am glad I removed them however I now find it hard to find clothes that look ok because my rib cage is protruding so where my breasts would normally be is a bit concave. As a result many clothes don’t look good. In fact I cannot find a bathing suit that fits…. I keep googling to see if there is anyone out there making clothes for people like me but so far no luck…

      I have made one video about what I've found that works best to wear when you're flat/asymmetric/concave. Here's a link! ua-cam.com/video/_SFJwjlCu48/v-deo.html

      Yes yes. I used a form of THC that is not psychoactive when blended with CBD. The brand I use is only available in Oregon. Are you in Oregon by any chance?

      No, I haven’t been pressured to take any endocrine therapy by any of the docs I’ve seen. My lesion was very small and the science says I wouldn’t benefit from the drugs.

    There is one negative going flat that no one talks about. You can't have a mammogram again. BTW, I'm a half flattie/uni boober. We exist too 😉

    • @estrogendiaries
      @estrogendiaries  Рік тому +1

      Yes! I love my uni sisters! One of my more recent videos has a photo of me with them. (I still consider myself a uni because of my Goldilocks breast being almost an A.) My breasts were too dense for mammograms anyway, but yes, I’d like to get an ultrasound or mri now and then!

      @estrogendiaries The NHS don't offer anything. It's self checks only unless you can afford a private scan in the UK.

    Do people develop lymphedema after Mastectomy?

    • @estrogendiaries
      @estrogendiaries  9 місяців тому +1

      Yes, I believe it is most common for those who have more than a couple of nodes removed. Has more to do with lymph nodes than actual mastectomy.
