Does anyone ever listen to songs that you've thought you've heard before, but actually haven't? It's like the moment you hear a song, it instantly feels like home. That's me with this one.
why did i only find out a good song like this in 2021? I just heard this song for the first time and immediately fell in love. This song gives me the 2000s vibe that I miss so much.
I miss Every Avenue so much. Their music helped me so much when I was a teenager, especially when I was in high school; I remember showing my friends their songs. :) It's like no matter how hard I try to find another band to love as much as them, I can't. . . The lead vocalists' voice is one of a kind to me. I loved his voice since I found out about them in 2009, which I was a freshman in high school. I always thought his voice was unique & ufff. 💕😍 I know all their songs, and I still catch myself listening to their songs now and then:) I wish I could've gone to their last tour, but I couldn't make it. 😭😭 I will always miss them. I love you Every Avenue!♡ Xx
They're kind of the same thing as All Time Low but with less memorable songs. No offense, but the only song I really thought was good by them was Think Of You Later (Empty Room)
Was not expecting to remember this at 3am since I'm reviewing something... But here I am now listening after 14 years 😅😅. I guess Being a 30yo is really strange
I love this video. I love how they showed different folks with different views 'bout love and life. And the best part, is the "We are all a wreck" part.
Man this song sounds so damn familiar even though today is the first time I've ever heard it. This a wild feeling that I haven't felt in a *long* time..
That's how i felt when i first heard it and i can't quite tell if there's another song that sounds like it or if it came on the radio when i was smaller or what, but its sounds so very familiar
To all those who don't really get it, he means that she should have known that he was a wreck from the beginning, and that he never tried to hide it, she just tried to change him to who she wanted him to be. But that would never be who he really was and he couldn't change that. Also, by "How could you expect anything less?" he means how could you expect me to show, act, and be anything less than who I really am.
I have a slightly different take on it. Being a "wreck" isn't who the guy was. He was flawed, but the girl kept tearing him down. THEN she wanted him to be her prince charming, but at that point, she had diminished his self-esteem. So, he couldn't be the perfect guy because she had already convinced him he was so imperfect. Also, "How could you expect anything less" is his way of saying, "You tell me I suck, so why wouldn't I feel and act that way?" Of course, my opinion comes from my typical "been there, done that" UA-cam sob story haha. So, I could very well be wrong.
This song literally gives me chills every single time I hear it. The video just makes it better. This is the most incredible song by the most incredible band, I honestly don't think there's a song by them that I don't love. So glad I found Every Avenue
They're from my town and I didn't even realize it! I have a vague memory of this playing on the radio. My psychologist was friends with one of the band members and used to talk to him a lot! Can't believe anything good came out of the port huron/Marysville area.
I’m 35 and I just felt finally reborn tonight after finding this song. Stoked, tears in my eyes. Time to break through and get back to the light and smile in my heart ❤️🤘🏻
Went through a bad breakup 12 years ago and this song helped me. Here I am in 2023, 3 bad breakups later. More of a wreck than I've ever been. Hoping if I find the strength to make it through this depression, if I give another person a chance to wreck me, I hope they won't. 2023 is the year I get sober, the year Im no longer codependent, the year I make mistakes that aren't clouded by faulty judgement, but mistakes that are made from learning how to love myself like no one else has.
My now boyfriend showed me this song just to show me what I wasn't seeing with my ex at the time... I thought it everything was good... It wasn't. Thank you Wesley. "True love knows no nastiness."
im on this big 2006-2011 Myspace music binge and man it brings me back. Im 38, and all these songs take me back to being in my early 20's, the whole world was open to me. If i knew then what I know now.
Man this song reminds me of my ex and how toxic that relationship was, and the same story happened, she latched on to me and was mad when i strung her along trying to make it work, then went and told what little friends she had all of my friends and family how i did her wrong... but now I'm happy I was in that relationship, I learned what I really wanted in a relationship and now, I'm happier than ever with my current one. Also just love this song
Just heard this song this year in 2023. Really going through it right now. She is telling her family and everyone else I never tried to make it work when in fact I did. I just broke it off. This songs speaks to me..
I found this band a few days ago, practically fell in love then read that they were no longer together and I just thought 'What? Why did it take me so long, Urgh.' so now I'm just sad.
they sang this as their final song on 12/5/12 in Minnesota. last time they'll ever play a show in MN. last song i'll ever hear them sing live. special place in my heart
I never missed an EA tour. Their music always hit me so hard to a level no on will ever know, o was 16 when I seen them and I’m about to be 28 in a few weeks 💜

I could have been easier on you
I could have been all you held onto
I know I wasn't fair
I tried my best to care about you
I know I could have been a better man
But I always had to have the upper hand
I'm struggling to see the better side of me
But I can't take all your jabs and taunts
You're pointing out my every fault
And you wonder why I walked away
When you tell me I'm a wreck
You say that I'm a mess
How could you expect anything less?
You latched onto me
Then cried I strung you along
I told you when you asked
I knew this wouldn't last
At least I could be honest about that
And now you're telling everyone
How I only did you wrong
I guess you never knew me at all
Remember on my 21st birthday
You took me where we went on our first date
We stayed 'til closing time, after 4 glasses of wine
You started with a pointless argument
You said that I forgot to compliment
The dress you wore that night
That I've seen a thousand times
But I think we just want different things
I want space, you want a diamond ring
Whatever made you think we were meant to be?
When you tell me I'm a wreck
You say that I'm a mess
How could you expect anything less?
You latched onto me
Then cried I strung you along
I told you when you asked
I knew this wouldn't last
At least I could be honest about that
And now you're telling everyone
How I only did you wrong
I guess you never knew me at all
You tell me I'm a wreck
You say that I'm a mess
How could you expect anything less
When you tell me I'm a wreck
You say that I'm a mess
How could you expect anything less?
You latched onto me
Then cried I strung you along
I told you when you asked
I knew this wouldn't last
At least I could be honest about that
And now you're telling everyone
How I only did you wrong
Still I see you standing there
Waiting 'round for me to fall
Girl you must be crazy
Still believing you and me belong
I guess you never knew me at all
