Have had the great pleasure of seeing him live a couple times, and he puts on a great show, does a nice cover of the Stones' Brown Sugar. Even a silly song like this one sounds great with him singing it.

I used to dance at the Borderline in Thousand Oaks Ca, where the most unfortunate shootings took place a few years ago. I don't believe it ever reopened. I moved to Hawaii many years ago and the the only negative here in Paradise is the lack of country music and, at least on my island, NO country dancing to be found. I really miss it.

If you learned to 2 step there, then you were probably taught the UCWDC style. Yes, Borderline is permanently closed and is slated to be demolished sometime in the future. I was dancing at The Ranch in Anaheim that night and got home right after the news broke. Stayed up almost all night watching it unfold. SO very sad. One of the guys that helped several escape is the son of a guy I went to University with at CSULB.

I don't know if the change in country has been a deliberate move on the part of the music industry or if it is the natural progression of music. People my age grew up on traditional country AND classic rock. Kinda makes sense that these two would blend. Many people 30 and younger listened to a lot of 90's country, hip hop, rap, and grunge rock. So country music today is NOT the traditional stuff. Quite frankly, neither are we listeners.
